Your reactions make me realise how much I’ve taken our Australian exceptional talent for granted… They deserve the kudos you have given them.
Great song. It is even better live. Enjoyed your reaction. Your next song by Kasey should be The Captain, live
Thanks for the reaction. Such a great and heartfelt song - you have to check out her doing it live , it takes on a whole new passion. (live at the Bluegrass Underground is a killer version).
Otherwise check out her live at Paste studio songs , 'The Captain' is one to see.
One of a kind is Kasey.
And the performance at the Aria’s - amazing!
That's what happened in Australia for many amazing artists....radio stations only want to play overseas artists...and ignore our home grown talent. But it is improving a little these days. There is a video of Kasey singing this in concert in the USA and at the end the crowd all stood up and cheered her....Kasey was so overwhelmed she cried lol.. Thanks guys for being such great supporters of Aussie artists.
great reaction. She has a back catalogue of her own songs over many years
Love your reaction! Kasey certainly deserves to be known worldwide.
kasey also does a great cover of seven nation army, live in berkeley is best version
Kasey is predominantly country, but she can't be pigeon-holed because she often strays into other genres. This is one of my favourite songs of Kasey's
We love it when artists give themselves the freedom to try out other genres.
WOW!!!
Love this track. The lyrics the guitar the organ the voice. It is very cool.🆒
Yes, Kasey is an accomplished Australian country singer-songwriter, but she refuses to be pigeonholed by anybody; in fact, her 2001 hit single Not Pretty Enough is her commentary on the reluctance of mainstream radio stations towards playing her music. This 2017 release is said to answer the questions raised by Not Pretty Enough. Kasey actually wrote this song a few years before she recorded it, and stated " this is the first song that 'wrote her'"; at the time she didn't feel strong enough personally or vocally to own it, but after finding personal growth and having surgery to remove two nodules from her vocal cords found the strength to tackle the song.
It is unbelievable that she hasn't had more reaction to her music, but like most Australian artists they don't have a large international exposure. It is only through channels like yours, that Australia's music scene is becoming known; in some cases, way too late. To me the music video conveys a sultry blues approach with a hint of light jazz and an undertone of country.
Good reaction to a great song. Kasey has that ability to help you feel the emotions that she pours into her work.
If you want to hear something more from her, I'd recommend 'Nullarbor', where she explores homesickness from being away from where she grew up.
The Nullarbor plains is an area near the cost along the southern edge of Australia. it's a huge area (200,000 km2) with, like, 100 people permanently living there. The name comes from Latin, 'Null Arbor' - literally 'no trees'. Kasey lived here for many years as a child while her father hunted foxes. it has the major east-west road and rail links for Australia run through it.

The lady has a great catalogue, dont walk past her track “ The Captain”
Goosebumps.
Pretty sure she wrote this as the industry bosses kept rejecting her because female
Hence the line im no little girl
Ill take it like a man
She a versatile young lass
Cheers guys 🦘🇦🇺👍
Am I not pretty enough was her song to the industry bosses.
I believe this too was about the industry and not a romance.
Kasey at her finest❤❤❤❤
There is a great live version in a cave venue. Check it out.
Australian Country Music.
Check out "Paul Kelly" or for outback country "Lee Kernaghan" is more Nashville.
Better to listen to any music as the live version
Kasey is brilliant in her own right.... yet I always have the feeling she is Janis Joplin reborn..... a true star yet because she is Australian has been missed by people living in their own little countries. As so many Australian artists have been. One of the main reasons is that Aussies don't play well with international labels and managers who want to 'change them' and 'direct their music'. As Aussies we tend to say 'fuck off'......
🤘😎👍
NICE! 👍☺
Kasey related to Eminem's story and also dealt with this broken heart.
Her song The Captain was played during end credits of a Soprano's episode.
But if Em wasn't black enough she wasn't pretty enough.
Cue Not pretty enough hint, the song not you :/
Not for me
