I was fortunate enough to move to Destin in 1990 before it became what it is today. I actually rented pontoon boats to tourists for 20 years and loved every minute of it until 2008. Since then Destin has become an over croweded, greed driven tourist hell hole. If you love way over priced everything, waiting for 2 hours to get a dinner table, fighting hours of traffic just to get across town, you will fit right in. As for me, I got the hell out of there.
