Same thing I did. #1 hellcat airbox #2 3.09 gears Tires I did the first month of ownership I don't spin at all I surprised alot of cars from the dig at the lights . Everything else is stock except pedal commander and hellcat air filter not really bolt ons
So you did the LSD and are not tuned at all? That's something I'm curious about because I don't want to tune as I'm still under warranty but I think that LSD would be super beneficial. Did you buy it new or used from someone else or like a junkyard or something? How expensive is it to get someone to install that?
My lost is almost the same, all I need is the LSD and going to do tje camshaft next weekend. Keep up the good work bro and can't wait to race you again. Stay safe
So in case anyone is also wondering if all of what he's saying applies to the 2015-2023 Chrysler 300, YES It's unfortunate that the Chrysler 300 doesn't get mentioned enough when covering topics like these for those who own Chrysler 300's with the same engine configuration like the Dodge Charger/Challenger
And yeah... a very good way to go is to buy the stuff that others have/are throwing away for for something 'better' I used Camaro stock headers on my LS conversion C10... Like you say the stock Camaro was getting ouit a lot more exhaust than my truck ones.. so... maybe an extra 5 hp for free that will still work with future mods up to 400+ hp
You put out the most informative RT videos on UA-cam, thank you for that. I put 9.5x20 275 uhp summer tires up front and 10.5x20 305 uhp out back. I’m looking for the 309 lsd next. Then would be the headers you mentioned followed by the 6.4 active intake manifold. You didn’t list it, so I’m curious as to why. Were the gains not worth the cost or was that #6 on a list of 5? I don’t think I want to do the e85 or 93 switch now because e85 got hard to find lately and the current price of 93 octane is the reason I went for the 5.7 over the 6.4 to begin with in addition to insurance cost. Probably after the warranty expires I’ll unlock and tune, possibly for e85 or 93. I was also considering a small 75-100hp wet nitrous kit. Appreciate your videos and any help with these questions. Keep it up.
Well, as of July 29th (2024) I've owned my RT for five months. I did ( eventually) install my 3:09 posi rear and have to say it was worth the $1437 I paid for a brand new one through Summit Racing. The car certainly does feel more "spunky".
Thanks for the information on tuning. In the process of upgrading my cam, headers etc on my 5.7 & found a shop that will dyno tune when completed. Now I have a reference on price. Could not find it anywhere & thought it would be around $750.
Another good one is 6.4 intake manifold. It is a little deeper but provides a nice step across the whole powerband. Bonus points if you can find one that is being sold with 6.4 fuel injectors
@molly-zk6sx yes but you need a new air filter tube, and maybe some small extras depending how much your 6.4 intake comes with. There are plenty of videos on UA-cam going into detail
I just 5 days ago bought a new 2023 Charger RT DAYTONA. I've been seriously thinking about doing the rear ( posi) upgrade. Did you get a chance to run it at the strip with just this mod? Is it realistic to think this mode by itself could shave a tenth off of the 1/4 mile time? I appreciate your input.
I’d love to do some of these mods eventually. I already got the air intake and bigger wheels. I think I got my eye on the 3.09 lsd next. I d heard good things about the swap and it doesn’t require a tune. I’m sorta trying to do stuff that doesn’t require a tune until I’m ready to jump in the deep end with mods. Super long term goal would be a cam and headers
Just bought a new to me 13 Charger RT. It has every upgrade you have done pretty much with the only difference being my cam is a 6.4 cam and I don’t have the 6.4 intake manifold. I found a deal near me on a complete intake manifold kit with window switch and circuits boss for $500. That leads me to my question, with all other mods is the intake setup worth it? I’m leaning on yes because of every other video I see including yours but you didn’t mention it here so thought I would ask.
Maybe I missed it but I did not see a comparative before and after 0 ~ 60 or quarter mile time tests to see if what you have done has actually improved performance? Horsepower numbers are totally irrelevant if you cannot put it to the road, so at least Kudos that you covered tires?
Hey Donny I’ve got a question. I’ve got a 2017 pursuit with AWD and the 5.7. Do i need a limited slip diff? I know I can bolt it in, but is it redundant considering I’m already AWD? Thanks man love the builds!
The only thing I disagree with is the 6.4 headers….. they’re great, and cheap. BUT!!! They do NOT bolt to factory 5.7 midpipes. I did the swap on my ‘17 Daytona, and I ended up having to buy some scat pack mids for mine. The mids from the scat pack (or any 6.4 hemi car) are shorter in between the cat and the flange that bolts to the headers….. be wary of that. If you don’t have extra cash for the mids, spend the extra $150 on shorties instead.
Agreed. I noticed he said that and began researching it. To switch to the 6.4 exhaust manifolds, you also need to get the 6.4 factory mid-pipes which raises the cost considerably. Shorty headers are probably the least invasive and lowest cost upgrade to the 5.7L manifolds.
@@brody8857 , I assume so as well. I don't know if having them without a tune will cause a "service engine" light, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't get the full benefit of them without a tune.
Do you need a tune with headers? Catted or catless? I want stainless power and a Borla catback, paired with a corsa cold air intake, that’s it and I have used 93/92 octane since I’ve gotten the car in may
@donnysrt How do you install the hellcat coldair if you don't have the 6.4L intake? Also I was wondering if you ever had issues keeping the hemi cool when on stoplights or after a ride sitting and idling? Cheers
I agree Donny. My 22 rt challenger pulled a lot quicker than our 22 rt charger. The charger has the 2.62, and challenger is 3.07. Its open diff butgood gearing.

Hell, literally just a set of long tubes plus installation (if you've ever done LTs on these 2015+ models you will understand why your average joe would want to opt to pay a shop for labor) i got quoted at $1600 for stainless power LTs and anywhere from 500-800 in labor...
