Canonly, she survived. The 0083 manga reveals that she survived because her cockpit wasn't actually breached and the cockpit block itself was intact, as you can actually see in this video. The crippled Lili Marlene protects her from the Solar System II's attack at the cost of most of the surviving crew.
@@Neremworld I don’t see how that could have been the case. In the anime it’s clearly venting the air in her cockpit into space and she suffers extreme decompression effects. Chances are her lungs were tore apart.

And it doesn't even kill the pilot. Cima canonly survived and was picked up by the Titans and recruited by them, but she leaves when she realizes they plan of sacrificing her and Cima Fleet. Manga-wise, Kou never does this to her, but instead she joins him and Kelly in fighting Gato to the end.

You see the halves fly off into the distance and they're forgotten about by Kou immediately. Not the strangest or most impossible survival in anime or even Gundam.

Crazy Kou, he was told to stand down as by this point Cima was technically an ally, yet he was too blinded to get revenge for South's death, which was caused by poor timing on the Albion's part

That's not the point, it had nothing to do with Kou being a newtype or not. If the Albion hadn't wandered in the area by accident Cima would have handed over the plans for Operation Stardust to admiral Wyatt without incident, and certainly wouldn't have needed to take a shot at South that ended up becoming fatal. The Albion was always at the wrong place at the wrong time

The 4th team joined the Titans, and at the conclusion of the Gryps war the Titans were mostly wiped out, save for Monsha who fled with a few survivors to Mars and joined a group of Zeon remnants under a false name, he was also crippled and hurt badly

@@Neremworld Good. Cima is a genuinely interesting character who COULD have prevented the whole Stardust Incident in the first place. Was actively working to do so, in fact. I also like that FOR ONCE we have a character brutally screwed over by Zeon. Current UC spends a disproportionate amount of time trying to paint Zeon as JUST misunderstood, or fighting for idealistic goals, just in the wrong way. You've got to wonder what happened to Cima Fleet after all of this. They were already outcasts from the Zeon remnants, then turned against them to actively assist the Federation.

Previously, it had been shown that Cima and the Cima Fleet had been picked up by the Titans, but she realized they planned on screwing her over like Zeon did, so she and her fleet escapes and disappears. But yes she's one of my favorite Gundam characters. She's one of the protagonists in G Generation DS, along with Char, and it is her route that is the canon one.

Yeah sucks that most of the remasters aren't using their classic sound effects that doesnt scream Gundam anymore. But i see that this is a problem with UC series, cuzz most of the AU can still retain their original sound effects even in their many re relases

You had to really feel bad for Cima. It's weird how the narrative treats her as the villain even though she had very good reasons for doing what she did. Granted, she kills a shitload of people and is generally ruthless, but she was sort of trying to do the right thing. It's just bad luck on her part that the officers she ended up working with were the proto-Titans.
Yeah, the show tend to view Cima as a rat, but in reality, the world of UC is already pretty fucked and she simply goes with the flow to survive and cope. The more i watched 0083, the more i felt annoyed at everyone onboard Albion, they're always in the wrong place and a wrong time.

Two things that catch my eye. Was the Gelgoog destroyed by some kind of shockwave from the force the Musai's beam cannons? Or was it hit by something off screen? Didn't seem like it. The other thing is Cima reacts to Kou's anger before he even begins to turn the GP03 in her direction. If you're old school you know that newtypes are kind of empath, so this could be early signs of Cima possibly becoming a newtype. Too late I'm afraid to take advantage.
The gelgoog is most likely being destroyed by the blast from the beam cannon it failed to get proper clearance. As for Cima you can see Kou start to switch to the beam cannon and input a turn Cima was reacting to that she’s not a newtype. But I get what you mean. Most likely it’s just an example of odd animation sequence from the director.
It's okay, she is alive in the manga, so we got two version now. I prefer the manga where she set her MS to auto and she left it to die. So I am okay now.

For those who don't know she was piloting the GP04 Gerbera. Painted in pink and had its head modified for Zeon use.
The GP04 has completely different armor, it was a redesign of the GP04. None of the armor is similar between the GP04 and the Gerbera Tetra.

The more you look at this scene the more you'll realize the Albion Crew are the definitive bad guys.
I mean this leads up to the formation of the Titans and by the end of the 0083 OVA we see some of the pilots we know WEARING Titan jackets

Ironically, the English dub for 0083 preserved the OG sound effects, in contrast with the other UC Gundam English dubs at the time.

The Gelgoog Marine was hit by a glancing blow from the Musai (which is not Cima's ship, hence a Delaz loyalist) and that was enough.
@@SantomPh it's not Cima's personal ship, but it's in Cima's fleet colors (salmon pink). Delaz ships are green. It's definitely friendly fire
