I have recovered from the loss (as much as one can) but still love listening to your soothing voice. Your delivery is perfect, respectful with glimpses of horror and humor, and now you've added some closed captioning (yay!). Thank you for what you do, I know it takes a lot of work to get these together and it is appreciated by so many of us.

I mean, she raised a daughter for 17 years, and no records of child abuse were obtained for Leticia. Landon lost her little boy, Lania lost her brother, and AL lost his son. Step parenting is a challenging role, but when you marry someone with children, you are expected to love your spouse and their children. Never ever in human existence, you become that enraged over a child. I mean, we look at the animal kingdom. I have yet seen dogs' cats' bears and lions that do atrocities to their young. I am insulting animals. Leticia should have gotten a divorce if she was unhappy.

I was " mom" for 2 kids. Their mom abandoned them..left them with dad..who wasn't the most interactive parent. I stayed for 10 years. Best time of my life.

The FBI agent interviewing her was all, “….uhhhhh…there’s no Barbara.” Like WHO did she think she was gonna fool with these lies?! Her stepson is missing and she’s emailing “Barbara” the made-up agent and all the investigators were just gonna say “Oh, I’m sure that’s true. We probably just don’t know Barbara. It’s legit.” 🙄 You can tell she’s lied to people that aren’t real bright all her life so she thought it would work here too.
I feel like there should be some kind of law that if someone has adopted someone's last name they should not be allowed to keep using it once they've ruined it. Unfortunately for the entire extended Stauch family, whenever people hear the name it will be forever attached to this hideous crime. Something as simple as making a dinner reservation or introducing themselves at a school function can be uncomfortable or traumatic wondering if people are talking about it or will start asking questions. Shanda VanderArk who also tortured and ended her own son has fkt up the VanderArk name. She had 3 fathers to her children and the last one she married to Adam VanderArk and had her youngest child. He had nothing to do with what happened. He didn't live with her when she killed her 15 year old and passed away shortly after the crime. But I can't believe how many comments were left about thinking he was the father and did nothing to stop the abuse. Even his parents have been dragged through the mud and have been accused of not rescuing the boy. So yeah, there needs to be a law or something to protect a family name that people have worked hard to keep clean.

No matter how many other documentaries I watch about a case. I always watch Monsters because he digs up info that other channels don't know. Great voice and presentation.
He actually wasn’t in her trunk when the cops first searched. He was inside the suitcase, under a bunch of boxes in the corner of the storage room in the basement. The officer’s body cam shows him walking within a few feet of him. There’s footage from early the next morning caught by the neighbor’s camera from across the street of Leticia moving the suitcase to the trunk of her VW, & then driving away, we now know, to take him out to the first dump site. She is literally the worst of the effing worst.
She actually drove that VW Tiguan with Gannon in it to the airport, where she left her VW and rented a car to p/u Albert who had just flown in from Oklahoma. It was later, after that, that she went to 1st dump site at Palmer Lake.
"Okay daddy, I love you, and I'm gonna finish watching Pokemon" being his last words to his father is so heart-wrenching yet sweet. What a warm final memory of such a beloved son.
The FBI was listening and guiding Al through all those calls. They wanted to keep her talking. It didn't work but it showed how manipulative she was trying to be.

The thing that I was most curious about was how she was able to hide the body so effectively for a while and how and when she was able to cut out and drop Gannon's body off in Florida. This is the most detailed narrative I have seen of the case outside of the hearing, which I was not able to watch in its entirety. You really did a terrific job of putting everything together and showing and explaining the complete timeline of the murder. Thanks, Jiles.
Exactly! Why didn’t the cops search any of the cars…knowing she kept switching cars & going to the airport & parking them….The police didn’t even find Gannon! What if the bridge guys never found him???

She put him in the suitcase & stashed him in the storage room located in their basement. There’s body cam footage of one of the officers walking literally within a few feet of the mountain of boxes Leticia had piled up over the suitcase. I know more about Leticia’s case than literally any other case I’ve ever heard or read about (which is A LOT), and I can promise you…that hag is a whole different kinda evil.

Landon struggled with the same things I have and I have to say that I am incredibly proud of the strength she displayed during the absolute worst time of her life. Both of Gannon’s parents spoke so sincerely,intelligently and eloquently every time they were put in front of a camera and in court. There is such a stark difference between the way they were able to speak freely but make complete sense and Leticia’s rambling, manipulative, nonsensical and narcissistic answers to every question asked of her. There’s just too much to unpack with this case and frankly I am tired of hearing about Leticia. We need to forget that she exists and focus on the amazing child Gannon was and helping his family keep his memory alive.

She was hospitalized during her 3rd pregnancy. She had high risk pregnancies. All born prematurely. Yes, her 2nd husband was a bad guy, but she had tons of family. Letecia was still in SC during this and Al was in AK. She kept the kids, but dumped Gannon with Landen's brother mostly. Letecia spread lies about drugs and alcohol, when she was in rhe hospital for like 5 months. She is jealous of Landen.

The very gut of this case was: Letecia was a horrible liar who thought she was MUCH smarter than she actually was. The father stated that he felt he lost 2 children because Harley was his step daughter. He really cared for her. That's just so sad. I hope Harley's kept in touch with him.

What also bothers me is Al found a new wife while his ex was still in trial for the murder of his son. His first and second wife both complained of Al being absent and both felt like single mothers. She totally realised she would be more of a single parent and said he was a military man when she met him and knew that was how it was. These grown women chose to be with a military man. He was not an absent father. He's keeping your country safe.

There's a difference between feeling like a single parent mentally vs physically and none of them feel single mentally. He married Letecia less than a year of meeting and he was married again before the trial even ended. Him, rushing into marriage with a woman he barely knows and rushing to take full custody to leave them with women he barely knows is something that opened the door to Gannon's end. I'm a bit bias since I was raised by a single mom and she always told me that she never had her ex's care for me because she had fears of them harming me like what happened to this family.
Rest in peace to this sweet boy. His life cut short for absolutely no reason. Thank u for bringing more attention to this case and doing it justice. I hope his family finds peace in this one day. It’s been a while since I’ve visited Monsters because he did a stretch of unsolved cases which I’m not a huge fan of I had found a couple other channels I really enjoy and forgot about it. I realize now why I was so obsessed with this channel!!! Just awesome great quality and the perfect voice for this type of narration puts the bow on it! LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!

The intro music is perfect- the dissonance gives the best creepy vibe. But the icing on the cake is Jiles' delivery. His diction is impeccable and his voice could melt butter. Step parenting is a challenging role, but when you marry someone with children, you are expected to love your spouse and their children. Never ever in human existence, you become that enraged over a child. I mean, we look at the animal kingdom. I have yet seen dogs' cats' bears and lions that do atrocities to their young. I am insulting animals. Leticia should have gotten a divorce if she was unhappy.

A heart - wrenching part for me was during the trial when Leticia's brother broke down and asked her "Why?".
I feel like there should be some kind of law that if someone has adopted someone's last name they should not be allowed to keep using it once they've ruined it. Unfortunately for the entire extended Stauch family, whenever people hear the name it will be forever attached to this hideous crime. Something as simple as making a dinner reservation or introducing themselves at a school function can be uncomfortable or traumatic wondering if people are talking about it or will start asking questions.
Shanda VanderArk who also tortured and ended her own son has fkt up the VanderArk name. She had 3 fathers to her children and the last one she married to Adam VanderArk and had her youngest child. He had nothing to do with what happened. He didn't live with her when she killed her 15 year old and passed away shortly after the crime. But I can't believe how many comments were left about thinking he was the father and did nothing to stop the abuse. Even his parents have been dragged through the mud and have been accused of not rescuing the boy. So yeah, there needs to be a law or something to protect a family name that people have worked hard to keep clean.

He actually wasn’t in her trunk when the cops first searched. He was inside the suitcase, under a bunch of boxes in the corner of the storage room in the basement. The officer’s body cam shows him walking within a few feet of him.
There’s footage from early the next morning caught by the neighbor’s camera from across the street of Leticia moving the suitcase to the trunk of her VW, & then driving away, we now know, to take him out to the first dump site. She is literally the worst of the effing worst.
She actually drove that VW Tiguan with Gannon in it to the airport, where she left her VW and rented a car to p/u Albert who had just flown in from Oklahoma. It was later, after that, that she went to 1st dump site at Palmer Lake.
"Okay daddy, I love you, and I'm gonna finish watching Pokemon" being his last words to his father is so heart-wrenching yet sweet. What a warm final memory of such a beloved son.

The thing that I was most curious about was how she was able to hide the body so effectively for a while and how and when she was able to cut out and drop Gannon's body off in Florida. This is the most detailed narrative I have seen of the case outside of the hearing, which I was not able to watch in its entirety. You really did a terrific job of putting everything together and showing and explaining the complete timeline of the murder. Thanks, Jiles.

She put him in the suitcase & stashed him in the storage room located in their basement. There’s body cam footage of one of the officers walking literally within a few feet of the mountain of boxes Leticia had piled up over the suitcase. I know more about Leticia’s case than literally any other case I’ve ever heard or read about (which is A LOT), and I can promise you…that hag is a whole different kinda evil.

Landon struggled with the same things I have and I have to say that I am incredibly proud of the strength she displayed during the absolute worst time of her life. Both of Gannon’s parents spoke so sincerely,intelligently and eloquently every time they were put in front of a camera and in court. There is such a stark difference between the way they were able to speak freely but make complete sense and Leticia’s rambling, manipulative, nonsensical and narcissistic answers to every question asked of her. There’s just too much to unpack with this case and frankly I am tired of hearing about Leticia. We need to forget that she exists and focus on the amazing child Gannon was and helping his family keep his memory alive.
I started crying the moment I saw your title, Jiles. I’ve been waiting on your word about this case. Thank you with all my heart.

She was hospitalized during her 3rd pregnancy. She had high risk pregnancies. All born prematurely. Yes, her 2nd husband was a bad guy, but she had tons of family. Letecia was still in SC during this and Al was in AK. She kept the kids, but dumped Gannon with Landen's brother mostly. Letecia spread lies about drugs and alcohol, when she was in rhe hospital for like 5 months. She is jealous of Landen.

What also bothers me is Al found a new wife while his ex was still in trial for the murder of his son. His first and second wife both complained of Al being absent and both felt like single mothers. Unfortunately, 1 exwife chooses to leave him while the other chooses to murder her stepchild. You would think he'll be traumatized to even think of being with a new woman so quickly.
This. He’s an absolute crap father and he’s just as much to blame as Leticia is. He had lots of reasons to not trust this woman with his children. He fought for full custody only for him to not be around anyway.

I don't know any of them personally, so I am not able to comment on previous comments, but my friend is married to a military guy. She totally realised she would be more of a single parent and said he was a military man when she met him and knew that was how it was. These grown women chose to be with a military man. He was not an absent father. He's keeping your country safe.

There's a difference between feeling like a single parent mentally vs physically and none of them feel single mentally. But like what my husband told me regarding this case, the military status doesn't excuse for negligent and irresponsible behavior. In the video, he quoted that Al only saw his kids during the weekends and was inconsistent and usually disruptive. He married Letecia less than a year of meeting and he was married again before the trial even ended. Him, rushing into marriage with a woman he barely knows and rushing to take full custody to leave them with women he barely knows is something that opened the door to Gannon's end. I'm a bit bias since I was raised by a single mom and she always told me that she never had her ex's care for me because she had fears of them harming me like what happened to this family.
Rest in peace to this sweet boy. His life cut short for absolutely no reason. Thank u for bringing more attention to this case and doing it justice. I hope his family finds peace in this one day.
