    Simply put coilovers are for actual performance, especially off road, and lifts are for when your definition of off roading is going down a dirt road in the South. One is performance, one is for looks. I would say save your money with the coilover if you just want to be cool and mostly drive on road. If you're hitting rocks, logs, streams, etc. then go for coilovers.

  • @brianamundson7475

    Don't forget the ongoing maintenance required with most coilovers; seals & oil need to be changed periodically (every 20k miles) vs. much less (if ever) with struts.

    • @CustomOffsetsTV
      @CustomOffsetsTV  5 років тому +1

      Like most suspension components they wear out as fast as how they are being used. A coilover shock will last a lot longer if only driven on the street vs only driven offroad, as the same goes for with a regular strut.

    Hey custom offsets! Is there a huge difference between the FOX 2.5 coilovers vs RCs Vertex Coilovers?? the obvious one is a $700 difference. There has to be more..

      Yes, many people consider RC a bottom of the barrel company. I doubt your going to see Rough Country being used in the Baja 1000.

    You guys are strong believers in the rough country brand huh?
    They been around for years so they must be doing something right. However, I've spoken with numerous f250 diesel owners that have these lifts on. And they say Rough country lives up to the name "Rough". Ride quality isn't there Like a BDS lift. But the price difference is nuts though.

    OK and again very informative to me along with the vid on lift kits. Now owning my first 4x4 of a Ford F250 Super Duty 2013. I'm likeing your videos and trying to take in all the in depth info BUT do have a Question Whats the diff between Coil over verses Air Bagging your ride as far as ride height and or ride quality..?? Me I'm not lookn to go rock crawling and not being a total off roader but do want the capeability to go off road n not just driving down or over a dirt road but get into the back woods n such and able to pull a trailer without the typical issues in doing so. Thanks again for such an informative vid I'm gonna smash another like and a subscribe too cuz I'm now living In very small town and the knowledge round here is like talkn to a tree with the blank stare but I moved from Phx to bout 90mile west of Amarillo Tx so what can you expect from Brother Dad Been to your Web Site just briefly wana learn more to make right decission for me on how to make this F250 mine can I get that n more from Site..??? • @GunnersInTheHouse
      @GunnersInTheHouse 5 років тому +1

      2 inch level will keep that, normally a 3 in lift is gonna mess with the geometry just a little. its nothing much, but if you dont wanna affect that at all, a 2 inch level is gonna be your best bet.
