Simply put coilovers are for actual performance, especially off road, and lifts are for when your definition of off roading is going down a dirt road in the South. One is performance, one is for looks. I would say save your money with the coilover if you just want to be cool and mostly drive on road. If you're hitting rocks, logs, streams, etc. then go for coilovers.
Thanks scott scott, that should explain it for everyone lol
thanks brother!
I agree but I rock coilovers just because they look better!
You really have a knack for being in front of a camera. Great presentation and delivery skills and really good at breaking down topics into basic components. Makes it very easy to understand. 👍🏼
Glad we can help!
Can you do a video on best all around lift kit that’s a good mix of function and flash? Example: most of my driving is in town but like to go play on the weekend i.e. camping, shooting, mountains etc
Want something that is versatile
Carli beats bds hands down
Do the lift and custom coilover replacement along with a custom rear suspension.
Don't forget the ongoing maintenance required with most coilovers; seals & oil need to be changed periodically (every 20k miles) vs. much less (if ever) with struts.
Like most suspension components they wear out as fast as how they are being used. A coilover shock will last a lot longer if only driven on the street vs only driven offroad, as the same goes for with a regular strut.
Wristband from lastnight? Someone likes to party.
Damn that Chevy in the back ground
We should have a video of it coming soon!🤙
You guys should do a vid on long arm lifts or a vid on a standard lift vs a long arm lift..
Oh, got it now thanks. I just need the strut spacers and subspaers and brackets for brake hoses. My car is just 5" off the ground 🤣👍. Thanks again.
That f150 on the thumbnail is 🔥
I have 3” reservoir coilovers with 1” blocks in the rear, it’s perfect.
can you do a video on the difference between a lift kit with a rear block lift and a rear leaf spring lift? Thanks
Please do a video about work truck air bags. And how you would set them up and everything like that please
Well see if we can possibly do something along those lines in a future video!
Have you or can you do a video on showoff lifts
Need info on that Silverado behind you
BLINDDOGG357 well, 1. Its a Chevy so it’s a piece of shit 😂

How so? BecUse Chevy V8s dont tick after 1,000 miles? Like the coyote?
And they don’t have a eco boost to throw rods through the hood?
We should have a video of it coming soon!

I’m looking for a coil over kit for 06 Silverado 2500 hd. Currently have a lift and 35s. Want to get rid of torsion bar bullshit so coil overs is the answer but the BDS kit is not in my price range help please
Lift vs. Carli
Can you all do a video on what fits a Nissan titan, I see everything but a video on Nissan titan!!!!
malcolm Bee ..nothing buy a new truck
Damping vs dampening. Dampening is making something damp (wet).
Could you use the damping set to 8 when towing? Would it help with sag?
Would like to know thing that would fit a ram 1500 and that Chevy is killer and on 🔥
Check out our video on what fits 2010-18' Ram 1500s!

What if I need to be lower than factory ride height but then change it back up to a higher ride height I have Boston up my GMC Sierra using factory ride height a couple of times so I'm trying to look for something that can be high enough for off-roading I love it but yet my mom needs to be able to get in and out of and she's old
What’s better then? a spacer or a lifted strut....what lasts longer and is better long term or better based on price wise🤔is it worth upgrading to a lifted strut??
Depends on the brand. Searching forums or asking truck groups on Facebook would give you some personal insight on the topic
Custom Offsets thanks 🙏🏽
i have a 2011 Ram 1500 SLT w/ Hemi i recently got a leveling kit with a 24" off-road rim and tire setup now i want to lift it about 4" front and rear what's a good kit to buy
I have a 08 Silverado and I want to put a minor lift on it, 3.5 inches tops, should I also be thinking about replacing my struts or any other parts outside of what comes with a kit?
Whatever comes with the kit should be what you should replace unless the other components have any type of physical damage.
Thank you!!!
So if I have 2,500-3,000$ to buy either a 4in or 6in lift kit. Which is best for my budget? Rough country 5in vertek or the 4in bds suspension kit with the nx2 rear shocks? And I’m not planning to do any off reading. Just looking for ride on street , highway, look.
Personally I’d go RC vertex out of those 2, all comes down to personal preference! The vertex kit is a killer setup for the price!
Where do people be getting those custom front grills at. I want one for f150 08
Hey fuller I am actually doing a really cool build on a truck...... the thing is I went through a shit divorce. Had some me really bad ass builds I have done I think after my build is done with photos will be bad ass I’ll send you photos as I move along but when it’s done rate my truck man I think you guys will love it

Can you get a standard suspension lift kit and get coilovers later added?
Depending on the kit and vehicle it could be a possibility!
Hi, do you guys make a coil over kit for 2019 Ram 1500 4x4 with 22inch stock wheels (non air suspension)?
It hurt me inside when you flat out ignored the effects of preload on ride quality....
RoughCountry Vertex coilovers vs Fox 2.5 coilovers for a 6 inch lift kit for 2014 Ford F-150. Which coils would be better?
It would mostly depend on what you do with your truck, if you would like help figuring out which suspension setup would be best for you please send an email to info@customoffsets.com and they should be able to help you out with that!
What did you end up getting?
I’m thinking Bilstein adjustable front leveling kit for my Tundra TRD 2 1/2”.any input on those good bad or indifferent?
cmonster6 I have bilstein on my tundra they ride smooth, find me on Facebook if you want to see how look canales Brian (red Jeep profile pic)
Get the Bilstein 6112/5160 combo. Nothing but amazing review from everyone and especially over at the tundra forums. They ride great and you get better performance both on and off road.
Will the blisteins fit on a lifted tundra? I have a 6 in lift.
@@shawnl4756 Depends on the lift and from what company. In most cases, you can run a Bilstein 5100 as the strut and leave it on the lowest setting so it provides no additional lift.
Subie Jason 6in rough country lift with strut spacers...
Can you find original coils for 04 gto?
Do you have a link to a video of that Chevy in the background?
What’s the best lift for 3inch lift for f250? For best ride quality & reversible
Would highly suggest BDS for quality and Rough Country for something more affortable! --> www.customwheeloffset.com/store/suspension?year=2017&make=Ford&model=F-250%20Super%20Duty&drive=4WD
Also I’ll send a n what I make and how much built this truck on a tight budget you could make a few vids off of what I did with this truck
I have a 2018 F150 Lariat CrewCab short bed with the powerstroke diesel engine. I'm looking to lift my truck about 3" but want to have the smoothest possible on road ride (don't care about off road performance and don't tow/haul). Any suggestions?
Just make sure you buy a quality lift and you’ll be good to go!
Been thinking of getting stage 1 icon coilovers on my Colorado but haven’t really heard much reviews on them
Do the Zone 6.5" lift for '18 Silverado's use original struts or do they have their own strut?
They do have the rear shock option. Check out the 6.5" zone kit for the 18' Silverado here!

So I have a regular 4" BDS lift installed on a 22 F150 but it still has too much rake and I want to lift the front an additional 1" to level the truck and hope to eliminate the rubbing with the 35's. Will adding the Fox coilovers allow me to add another 1" of lift?
They could help but best bet is to remove a leaf spring or get a smaller block for the rear
@@CustomOffsetsTV it seems like the pics of 4" BDS coilover lifts on 21,22 F150s I've seen look level compared to the regular 4" BDS lifts without the coilovers.
I pick out rims and tires but wanted to make sure I got the right stuff so I called before I spent 4,500 on that and never got thorough to anyone :( so I went somewhere local
What size lift kit and rims are on the f150 on thumbnail
Can you guys please make a video over what brand of coilovers are better? You know like rough country vertex coilovers vs. Fox coilovers or dirt logic coilovers
The big 3 are King, Icon and Fox
Yeah I've been thinking about putting the Fox coilovers front and rear on my 09 ram 1500
The 4th, ADS. Pretty much the exact same thing as King's but with ADS, we don't have to pay extra $ to upgrade parts like King. Plus ADS has a better finish. I have both brands on my truck and Fox shocks on a different vehicle.
China Bilstein's are an honorable mention. I was thinking about Fox but read they are prone to corrode in salty climates. I went with Icon's
I've heard the same about Fox too. Though, I have around 30 beach/dune trips with my Fox''s without spraying it off and the shocks look fine. My first set of shocks on my truck were Bilstein 5100's, they road like complete shit after about 10 runs. 5100's aren't the best model of Bilstein's either.
Why is the coilovers cheaper on the lift I’m looking at the lifted strut is 300 and the adjustable coil over is I think 150 so which one should I choose 2012 f150 xlt
Coilover is always the best bet, better ride quality new suspension pieces, and it looks killer!
So is it me or is the tire search funky on yalls website? For height, the options are 145mm-405mm and width, 25mm-85mm.
There should be metric and stander sizing included in height and width sizes!
You guys forgot to mention if coilovers give you longer suspension travel
That would depend on if you buy a coilover with more travel than factory. A standard lift, however, will not increase travel.
Does anyone where I can find the video of the ride quality? 6:38
Right here man!! ua-cam.com/video/GDud7Pk4Lv8/v-deo.html
I'm on the hunt for a 10 inch coilovers kit🤔
Check out some of our suspension kits on our website and see if we might have something for you!
customoffsets.com/suspension
So coilovers can be used to lift as well?
Which one lasts longer??
It would really depend on what you are using them for but they are both somewhat the same for life expectancy.
Stupid question...you have an Icon 1.5”-3.5” stage one kit on your website....can you enunciate more as to what that does? Obviously 1.5-3.5” would present itself as a lift but with just coil overs??
That just means the kit can be adjusted between 1.5 - 3.5 inches for height. Lift kits will come with everything included unless stated otherwise
What is the best lifted kit
Depends what kind of vehicle you have, what you do with your vehicle, how tall, brand, etc. but we have a team who can help you figure out which kit would work best for you! Please send an email to info@customoffsets.com and they should be able to help you figure out your next lift kit!
Also you guys put some good vids out there I know a few of the guys put there will get mad but let is a good swap but they are super weak on the ride qual on a straiaght axel...... get them boys to build a real truck a f350 on forces no spcer in tha rear that rips AC!!!!!!!!

I want to get rid of my strut spacers. Is that even doable with a 6 inch rough country lift?
Depending on the vehicle you could always go with a different lift kit if one is available!
Custom Offsets I have a 17 tundra
Shawn, i'll answer your question since Custom Offsets didn't. Yes. I have a 15 Tundra with a 7" BDS lift with ADS coilovers. Call a reputable suspension company and tell them what you want and and what you have then they will custom make for you.
do you sell lift kits with coilovers and reservoirs in the front and reservoirs in the back
BobbyDee415 everyone does. But expect to shell out even more cash for the reservoirs.
@@SteveLord yeah but im talking about does custom offset sell a kit like that
Depending on what kits you are looking for they may possibly come with reservoir option for the rear! Check out our lift kits here!

Hell i just wanna know what will give my 14 f150 the best ride. My factory struts with spacers ride like crap.
Almost never off-road use
Replace your upper control arms with aftermarket designed for 2 to 4 leveling kit
Please send an email to info@customoffsets.com and they should be able to help you pick out the best suspension for your 14 F-150!
I have a 14 f150. I tried spacers and hated them. I went with bilstein 5100s and they ride great with a 2 inch level. If you have more money Fox makes some great stuff. I recommend camburg upper control arms with either option. Also the 14 f150 has a different lower mount style than an 09-13 so keep that in mind that an 09-13 kit won’t work on a 14. The 14 front end actually has more in common with a 2015.
@tylerdtharp, did u ever find out a solution?
Hey I have a question, I have a 2010 Tahoe that I would like to raise and put a set of 33s on and I was wondering how much of a lift would I need to fit 33‘s and is it possible to do so without any shaving or cutting?

Hey custom offsets! Is there a huge difference between the FOX 2.5 coilovers vs RCs Vertex Coilovers?? the obvious one is a $700 difference. There has to be more..
Depending on the vehicle they are going on and the way that they will be used!
Yes, many people consider RC a bottom of the barrel company. I doubt your going to see Rough Country being used in the Baja 1000.
@@Chinese_Chickenyou would be surprised
@@paulcondie2520 maybe spectators use RC but people aren't using that brand to compete

You guys are strong believers in the rough country brand huh?
They been around for years so they must be doing something right. However, I've spoken with numerous f250 diesel owners that have these lifts on. And they say Rough country lives up to the name "Rough". Ride quality isn't there Like a BDS lift. But the price difference is nuts though.
i want to lift mine 3 inches but would that affect turning and angle and the geometry. whats the most i can go without ruining any of that?
2 inch level will keep that, normally a 3 in lift is gonna mess with the geometry just a little. its nothing much, but if you dont wanna affect that at all, a 2 inch level is gonna be your best bet.

You jus barely touched on a most important issue!!!!! ALIGNMENT!!! People are having serious issues trying to get the front aligned
2:52 this is my personal opinion but lifted trucks with independent front suspension is so disgusting!! 🤢🤢🤮🤮
So on pavement and going on a dirt road to get home, is a normal 4inch bds lift gonna ride better than stock or just the same
It would ride better!
