Great video brotha. Nice improvising. Pretty interesting to learn that Cat engines need 900 psi of oil, lighter duty diesels only need 500. Thx for the shout out.
that sure was a slow crank for temps in the 30's. might be time to get some fresh batteries there phil! it cranked slower than i would like even after it had been in the shop all that time. huei with a hard hot start surprise surprise. i would want to plug in the lap top and make sure the "actual" pressure your manual gauge show is the same as what the ecm is seeing from the pressure sensor. the ecm may be seeing the pressure come up slower and delaying the firing of the injectors compared to what you see. if i recall, the last c7 i had problems with made just under 4000psi at full throttle.
A couple questions; 1 how many miles were on the engine, 2 approx how many hours was the O ring job, 3 was the engine using oil by passing oil into the fuel return with the bad oil O ring on the oil side. HEIU pressure looked good once up in the rpm. Looked like it was a Little slow building pressure for starts. As you know if the HEIU pump comes apart the injectors are toast along with oil passages etc. Good vid. Thanks

Other than a hard start is there other runability issues? Have a c7 in a rv that seems a little weak on hills but i am 32k loaded.

You started talking as soon as it started so we couldn't hear the engine sounded as soon as it started. So my KAL C7 is very hard to start. When it does finally start, it's missing but depending on how cold it is outside, it smoothes right out within seconds. While cranking and while it's missing, it blowing white tailpipe smoke. Once the miss clears up seconds later, the white smoke all goes away and the engine runs just fine with lots of power, no missing, MPG as expected etc. So is this common for just needing O rings, or is there a bigger problem??? Thainks for the video.

Injection Pressure looked good while running. If you get ahold of Cat ET you can do a step test to check the pump. Top pressure in that test is 3600PSI and you were hitting 3k with no load so I wouldn't be too worried about the pump, but you never know. 1600ish idle is pretty normal. If your worried about the crank time it may be worth trying a thinner oil if your using 15w40. I ran 10w30 cat oil in a F750 with a C7.

I m going replace the oring on c7 cat 2003. Di we need to release sny fuel or oil bsfire removed injectors and after injectors install what the torque fir them and does it need prine any fuelnor oil before try crank it.

I’m told no the cup seals them in the taper.

My 2004 C7 in a 2005 f750 seems loud, are these engines kinda louder at idle than when going 20+
