  • I decided it would be nice to look back on the past year and reflect on my skateboarding activities month by month and make a video for each.
So that means a series of 12 videos attempting to fit in and describe what was happening.
I'm mainly doing this to make some diary of the year I can look back on in years to come but it's also a good way of filling in You viewers on what I've been doing in between the other videos I have already published.
I hope you enjoy the format please let me know what you think in the comments section below.
If you liked the video please hit the thumbs up and consider subscribing it will help me and the channel more than you know.
If you want to go that extra step, please consider tiping me the price of a good old English cup of tea via my Ko-Fi page here all donations will go back into improving the channel and My content.
    ko-fi.com/neil...
Until next time, thank you and get out there and skate!

The long run in the bowl was beautiful. No better way to say it.
Really enjoyed your thoughts on the early grab and nose grabs.
Boardslide around the pocket is definitely a great trick to have. It is on my long term truck list. I didn't really skate the bowl much this year. I am still having street dreams as I get ready to turn 47. I think my 50s will be my bowl years.
Great video. I am working on one video for a 2023 wrap up. Honestly 2023 was just a year of fighting for skate time and building consistency.
    Stay Rad Sir.

Thank you ☺️ I’m 45 in January so I’m not too far behind you but I guess I’m kinda lucky I don’t skate street too or I wouldn’t have time for everything. I can just about squeeze in 2 mini ramp/bowl sessions and 1 vert session per week in between whatever regular life throws at me. Will be good to see you back in the bowl 👊🏼

Lots of skating this year and you should be happy with your progression.
Those 50-50 on the deep end of the bowl are looking really nice.
I remember seeing Steve Caballero doing those board slide on that famous big bowl in Anaheim California. I had just started skating again and initially I wasn’t quite sure who he was.
Looking forward to skating with you a bit more than this year. 🤞🏼
Those backside air at the end were looking solid… Will 2024 be the year Neil Hester learn to fly over the copping?
    👊🏼

Thanks mate, yes I am very happy and watching back the footage over the year has reminded me of things I had forgotten about so I do feel like I’ve made some solid progress.
Cab is definitely a huge inspiration and if I can get anywhere near what he does I’ll die a happy man 😜
Let’s get together in 2024 as much as possible and maybe those airs will happen ☺️👊🏼

Great video Neil, have always enjoyed your channel. I'll try the backside airs once (or if!) I get handplants dialed in. A bit like you, I'm not very motivated to try early grab airs, and think the 'normal' ones are much cooler. Have you found it useful to learn the early airs first at all, e.g., getting the feel of an air, or would you suggest going straight to the normal air?

Thanks Daniel 👍🏻 I think it’s still worth learning early grabs as a great entry point because they teach you a few thing such as the weightless feeling of flying and how to land (which is really important) but they can only take you so far, sooner or later you realise you have to take it up a level , so I see it as a natural progression.
Early grabs are also the way to go if you are learning on anything smaller than vert because you kinda yank the board out from the wall or you’ll likely land in the coping. With vert it’s way less about pulling out and all about going up. Try learning late grabs and it if feels way too hard to back to trying early grabs, let me know how you get on 👊🏼

@@sonsofthetribe I try sometimes but I’ve not managed to stick to it as a routine. I do stretch before every session or my legs really struggle to get going but I do definitely feel the benefits of yoga when I actually remember to do it 👍🏻
