Can potentially doesn't mean can actually. He would need a guarantee that buyers are willing to pay more for #1, which since most buyers aren't, it isn't worth his energy to do it either.
The ones that sell for the premium are 1-10 ,69,99, 100
He knows dang well he can sell that for more money in almost every case with a unique serial number. What he said is, I won’t pay more. So if you’re the seller you need to determine if you are willing to wait to get a higher offer which you might be able to do or you might not. As with everything it’s a choice.
He “potentially” can. So it’ll be a risk for him to pay more and take a gamble on something he’s not confident on.

I’m so tired of these scamming watch dealers who low ball on the buy side and then don’t sell watches at low price but mark it up 20% and then sell. 10% margin is more than fair for the value they add. Anything over is excessive

27 and 52 are the exact same watch
They’re going to list for the exact same price they have a market price.
You can’t go on to chrono24 and find where it says a limited edition piece is worth more because it has Someone’s lucky or favorite number on there.
How the hell do you know your going to find that person
You might sell it the next day to a wholesaler you’re not going to tie up capital and sit on it waiting for some mystery buyer plus add a 1 year warranty to it and then something happens 6 months later and he has to pay an additional $5-25k for a service on a $250k-1M piece.
Selling a watch to these guys is like selling a car to CarMax. They’re not paying you any more for extra certificates, for limited edition or anything, they’re trying to find every reason they can to give you the least they can, the only reason to sell to them is dealers with high volume needing to shift pieces quickly to free up some money, or ordinary people that have a watch and need the money badly enough that they’re willing to lose a good amount by coming to these guys.
It is a scam but that’s the price to pay when you really need the money, like CarMax or pawn shops. Luckily they’re showing themselves to be the way they are on UA-cam so hopefully the average person knows they’re not the ones to take their watches to or spend money with.
It makes a difference when you have paper work or if it's the first out of 100.
If it is a wanted 1 , can be as limited as you want , but if nobody is interested , then there is no point of offering extra money for it.
I disagree here. Rolex is certifying the watch is authentic which holds more weight than when a reseller says theirs is. We all know there are super clones out there and some resellers will get duped. So that certificate is peace of mind even if it costs more.
Trust me, nobody with money is stopping to look at certificates. With the money you spend on these pieces, it's basically assumed that the dealer knows what he's doing. Very few people buy from someone they don't trust. It's the gullible one's who get fooled. And since the majority don't care, it's not worth extra.
You wouldn’t get a super clone passed by luxury bazaar . There has been some backpack dealers or old dealers that are 80 years old and shouldn’t be driving still running their small store and deny all help and new tools/devices available .
But even if something got past a grey dealer , which it wouldn’t not with a store front and in house match maker,
You have a lifetime authenticity agreement ! If you found out a year later that 1 stainless steel link wasn’t original/authentic they’d replace it for free at that very moment .
I’ve literally seen $12k msrp watches that for for $19k grey and CPO Rolex wants $35k .
That’s not worth it . That’s a cash grab
They should be pricing it at the same market as grey dealers because that’s the market price
First of all I do sell Rolex CPO watches as I work in a jewellery store. In my opinion the new warranty card has value for some time. After selling a timepiece it could get altert by the new owner years after. So when you buy in a new watch it needs to get checked anyway, and in our case get send in to Rolex for the Certificate again.
It's not the super fakes that the new certs will affect, it's these grey dealers that use their own watchmakers that use cheaper non-Rolex replacement parts in their service. It's really going to hurt these grey guys in a few years.
Meanwhile the watch dealer makes it a point it say “this is 300 pieces” “this is 500 pieces“ so in your eyes it’s so limited but you also dwell over the numbers of them made. Stop lying
I’m sorry ma’am, but it seems like you needs some comprehension lesson. He never said limited didn’t matter. He was talking about what number piece in the limited series doesn’t matter unless you have a specific buyer. So watch 1/100 and watch 8/100 is worth the same in terms of buying

Lol he wants to discredit rolex certified pre owned because it’s taking away from the fake value added by the grey market. Of course a buyer would want a certified pre owned rolex over another used one. Box and papers can be faked, out of date, mis matched, and the product could be non functional or unserviced. Pre owned from rolex comes with a brand new two year warranty and full service, detailing, and packaging. That’s worth quite a lot more my friend.
This is why I hate flippers. They will say one thing and do the opposite.

Have to disagree on the fact that indeed maybe for you as a grey market reseller you would pay the same, however the end client might be paying the premium from a rolex pre owned boutique instead of your store.
For exactly the reason he knows the watch is not: overpolished-factory inside-original components etc

There are plenty of over polished watches , rounded Champers and defects even with brand new pieces coming from Rolex
You have no idea how many times I’ve looped a brand new watch straight from the AD and it has dust on the dial. That could hurt the movement.
I’ve had watches come straight out of an AD with a missing letter on the dial 😂.
It’s not right at all for Rolex to sell a piece that’s $9k MSRP for $24K
When every other certified grey dealer with 10-30 years and gives you a 1 year warranty for free and has their watchmaker

I do not have any Rolex , but i do own 2 Omegas. Yes we all die, i am in fact considering buying a 3th Omega just because i am getting older. Everybody spends money on what they want to spend on , i rather die with a nice watch on my wrist then having 10k more in my bank account . BTW , buying a watch for status is absurd, since by far most people do not give a f*** about watches , would be throw away money for that matter.

I did buy at the rolex certified pre owned, and the difference with the same watch grey market was about 500$.
I gladly pay 500 more for certified, serviced at rolex, and 2 years warranty.

Dealer when buying a watch, it does not matter if its a Timex or Rolex you will get paid the same low offer.

Well a certified pre owned Rolex comes with a two year warranty and has been recently serviced to ensure it’s good condition so I think it’s worth a little more
Unless it's a James bond edition omega and you have number 7. Which I do in the 42mm. Probably the only omega I've ever had worth anything.

I don’t care for a second about the resale value of my watches, they ain’t leaving anyways. Those watches will go to my future son or daughter, no matter if they are worth something or not. When i bought them, i bought them for their beauty and because i want to pass them on one day, not as an investment that has to appreciate.

He is so wrong, if you take into account the share of chinese potential buyers, their approach to the limited number is so important. For example, the number 4 is considered unlucky because it sounds a lot like the word for “death" whereas the number 8 is believed to be the luckiest number in China.
Doesn’t make a difference buying it until Roman sells it and of course he’ll make a big fuss that it’s a low limited number watch
how about year though lets say if the watch is out of warranty, thats pretty much the same thing as a LE number. Point is dont sell any cream cards to Roman you wont get your money back. But then again really shouldnt be buying them in the first place.

Don’t think it will affect your business. Tell that to car dealers. I paid around 10k more for my BMW M3 from a BMW dealership with a 24 month warranty than I would have from a private seller or a normal car dealership.
Over the cost of the 4 year payments I was probably paying an extra 100 a month and it was totally worth it for the piece of mind.

I would say that those that buy luxury watches as a statement rather than an investment, or even both; would pay extra for #1 over #8. He might not pay more but he would sell for more. That's why number plates etc are so expensive. Daft people with money will want to stand out and say look at me. I'm not sure why all these sort of vids pop up on my feed, but bored now of people spending money on silly things and getting paid money to do it. Just because an algorithm made more people watch it. Eliminate the grey market. I have an AD whom I’m building a relationship with offer me an all gold GMT root beer and I knew buying it would likely get me in the door to buy the watches I really wanted. After analyzing I decided that if I won’t have the watch on my wrist then I shouldn’t buy it. I would sell on the grey market or trade up and eventually contribute to all this crap. Don’t support resellers and UA-camrs and the grey market. Stick with ADs and with a few years the market will fix itself
