This was the best ever made, I already watched the whole series and I strongly recommend watching it, every actor was great and this guy playing David he's the best I've seen

It's absolutely disgusting. Koresh needed to be brought to justice but this wasn't the way.
Koresh didnt lay waste to a peacful compound of women and children and end up murdering over 75 people after literally torturing them. Let's keep things in perspective. Yeah Koresh did commit some abuses not denying that. At least he took down a few thugs with him.

This incident really proved how unprofessional and ridiculous the FBI and ATF conducted themselves.
There were days and weeks of negotiations between FBI/ATF and David . He wouldn't give up i mean he knew he was going to do a lot of time for rapping those little girls and having illegal weapons. He was a greedy bastard, narcasist, and and child rapist I dont respect and idiot like that. He was selfish and crazy so he took everyone with with.

The only one i consider to be the "good guy" is the negotiator, and it's because he was the only one trying to deescalate the situation, meanwhile everyone decided to start shooting each other, arguing and bickering like children, dragging this out to the point of no return, and using tear gas, which btw you NEVER USE IF THERE'S CHILDREN INVOLVED!!!

Amazing series. Shannon was incredible and so was Taylor as Koresch
This series was way better than I was anticipating. Great production across the board - excellent performances by the cast. Way more thorough and accurate than the recently rushed out and abridged Netflix series.
One was a film production; the other was a documentary with witness testimonials and released recordings. I'm not sure you know what "accurate" means,

I remember this when it really happened. I live an hour away from Waco so it was on the local news constantly. The FBI totally failed in every way. It was heart breaking.
It was on the national news constantly in 1993. I was only 12 years old and living in Alabama at the time and I remember all of this very vividly.

@@grahamhebert2931 This is probably the most sane opinion I've read on this, and I'm glad some people can still be realistic about what happened.
What happened in Waco was definitely very suspicious, especially the activity involving children, and the FBI were correct in intervening.
However, that intervention did not go as planned, and I suspect the authorities didn't consider how badly things could go, and this misunderstanding caused a catastrophe that killed a lot of innocent people. I hope the authorities learned from this, and they can act more precisely in the future.

Not to mention a month of psychological abuse with playing loud speakers at night for over a month then to be gased by gas that's not even allowed by the Geneva convention which led to fires breaking out. Then on top of that they wouldn't even allow firefighters to try and save the kids. Our FBI doing this to 26 kids being held hostage is ok with you?

the ending was super inaccurate. They werent feeling regret, they were posing with their rifles over the bodies.
So obviously I don't know how everything exactly went down. But if Koresch actually agreed to surrender, and the FBI STILL WENT IN TO GAS THEM, that is an absolute disgrace. Regardless if they lost patience and said "fuck it," you can't just go in like that if he was actually finally willing to turn himself in.

I'd recommend reading Gary Noesner's book "Stalling for Time". He was the lead negotiator for the FBI, and was entirely critical on how all the warrior cops took over how things went.

The actor in the movie that came out years ago looked, sounded, and generally came across as SO much more similar to Howell than this guy does.

@@ValCroninDavid Koresh´s real name was Vernon Howell. He changed the name on the purpose to "enhance" his message. He was just a liar through and through, not even his name was real. It still was not right what the ATF and FBI did. They could have arrested him any day outside the compound. Steve Schneider was just a weak walkalong. He would never have resisted arrest if they came when Koresh was not there or already in custody.
The ATF wanted a show for TV and publicity and underestimated the situation.

I remember when all this went down. I was working at a radio station at the time and I remember watching it all go down on TV. Watching the limited series, however, has me perplexed. He had so many wise interpretations of The Bible... but then when he goes and does that "prima nocta" 🐂💩 with Thibodeau's new "bride", it just reminded me of what David Koresh truly was. 🤬
I just flip the channel to this season 1 episode 2 and it started with one character making out with like a family member who is that to him??? Another lady saw them in the room together ?

I heard Special Air Services and Delta Force deployed in Waco. The 2 best Militaries in world.
This and others like Duncan Lemp must be kept in mind when it comes to three letter organizations especially the ATF and FBI,the jist behind Duncan Lemp was he was going to college for some technology related degree, super smart guy, he ends helping some guys with some boogaloo related activities, helping establish or helping with in general some comm's related networking stuff if i remember hearing right from some Boog boi's who worked with him, they end up no knocking the poor sap for "illegal firearms", but they didn't no knock and then enter they got an armored vehicle or an armored "scissor lift" and essentially sniped him through is 2nd story window from the main street in front his house while he was sleeping in bed with his pregnant girlfriend, she got hit aswell but survived thankfully, the official lie is that he confronted officers but that's straight lies

You remember that siege up in Oregon back in 2016? Feds successfully cleared it precisely because they held back, let the crazies tire themselves out, and then negotiated everyone out. Only person who died was some idiot who tried pulling a weapon on officers.
I can't speak on the ATF, but FBI really hasn't had a moment like this. Not to say they've done well (racial profiling still exists), but there's not been a major fuck-up like Waco since Waco happened.

On the other hand, it is really interesting to see how they reenacted scenes that actually happened during Waco, it also does indeed help show the mistakes made by all parties involved
And if they weren't making it...they'd be saying Hollywood isn't making it because they don't wanna make the government look bad and buried the story. ...also that would go for any war story as well

Thinking about watching this series
Definitely do so. I don't really get into TV shows and I started this one night, I finished the whole series in one sitting. It was a Saturday night, 6 episodes, roughly 1 hour long a piece. Not going to lie, it is biased and I feel like it waters down the craziness of David koresh but still, definitely worth the watch. All the actors are phenomenal especially Michael Shannon. He was the reason I even started it.

@@dariusfatherree3222 absolutely! It's probably the only recent movie/series I'm actually excited for! That, and Martin Scorsese new film "Killers of the flower moon" about the Indian reservation murders in Oklahoma back in the early 1900s.
I love film but In recent years I haven't been excited for much. Hollywood has it's logarithm to making movies which is mostly superheros, remakes, and action adventure eye candy. It gets old. It's a good feeling to be excited again for certain films.

You're right. The ending with the agents seen being remorseful wasn't until later after they had time to rethink what they did not during the burning was going on.
Edit; plus the flag raising of the Stars & Stripes + underneath was the ATF flag, waving in the air. Which symbolized everything the Davidians saw in them (Babylonian Army) & how the public saw the agencies as an out of control gang of murders who really dropped the ball on this one.
Have you never watched any movie or show based on real event's? Literally ALL of them are dramatic interpretations....everyone should know this by now. It's not a documentary
I have been so extremely disappointed with these actors who have been some of my favorite from Boardwalk Empire. They participated in a series that makes the branch davidion's seem fine, when they obviously were quite the opposite. People have different beliefs regarding the situation, but for them to take a definite position that the FBI was at fault for the situation is a disgrace.

I don't like cults, but I believe in religious freedom. The Davidians did absolutely nothing to deserve the sort of response the ATF and FBI issued. If there was actual child abuse,, if there were actual weapons charges (that weren't set up by the ATF) then that deserved a proper investigation. The ATF used the cult as a budget justification and the FBI supported it. The actions of the siege only further radicalized men like Timothy Veigh and led to even more death.
