Nail Belting With One Simple Trick!

- Many singers can hit high notes in their voice. But actually belting those high notes with power and presences takes practice.
But what's the secret to hitting those high notes with power AND on pitch every time?
Today I'll show you a very simple singing technique you can use to learn how to sing high notes with power.

Man that vocal chords tho. Eww
@@theamazingkelly1 yeah. why did they show the actual close up of the vocal chord..
@@Empric to show you what it’s doing
I love how you are acting the mistakes out. 100% how I sound, when I try to belt. Haha, you are a really good teacher. Coming back to your videos for years now and always learning something new.
thanks for this video! i was just struggling with throat pain after singing slightly high notes and this helped me understand how to develop a more full mixed voice instead of straining. the burrito explanation helps a lot!!
dont W your throat riven.
Thanks!
I never learned to use my mixed voice. Well, almost never. Half a year ago I sang along with a song by Myles Kennedy (Watch over you). I just saw a video of him explaining his use of vocal techniques. There are a couple of tricks in there and I just tried it. To my own surprise I felt like I was singing like the best of 'em. It was amazing! I felt it. I was so proud. I could never do it and now, in just one try, I could. Brilliant!!!
Unfortunately the next day I couldn't repeat it. It's frustrating. Your explanation gave me hope again though, because what you just taught me reminded me a lot of what I did, that one time that I could do it. So maybe I can learn it again and keep doing it. I'd go crazy of pure joy. 😁
5:33 is a quick summary for practicing the belting for me... I will practice based on that one. Thank you
Going to singing classes and following your incredible tips make it easier to find my voice step by step :D
Hmnn I feel like this video covered more on how to sing with your mixed voice than how to actually belt, what about when you belt notes that aren't in your "mixed range" for example, how do you actually project you voice outwards, both loudly and steadily? For me what makes the belt so powerful when some singers do it, is how streamlined and clear, yet strong the note sounds, which not easy to do.
The second method you named isn’t really belting, but more a way to imitate belting
This was so helpful, I have an audition this coming Tuesday. Thank youuu!!!
Best vocal coach i have ever seen! Thank you coach! 💯
I always love watching your videos. ❤❤
Well done!
Love your channel thanks!
Thank you so much, this was really helpful
I very much enjoy your insertions of your own ‘as seen on tv’ black and white b roll haha
Thanks for making this video.
It would be SO helpful to have both male and female examples of each of the types of belting 🙏
Lmao there are thousands of female vocal coaches demonstrating the same things in this video here on UA-cam. Maybe just click away and learn instead of whining.
Very informative, love the burrito metaphor.
great video as always :)
Sir ,am always great full your techniques are always amazing,am doing amazing with your stuff, keep on ,am.proud!
Amazing video❤
😂 thank you for the amazing class!
Thanks for your advice sir I hope that I can improve my voice😊
Excellent 👍
Yay another video❤
I just woke up so I’m watching this with my coffee 😅
trying to not do what you’re doing because my throat just woke up
amazing, thank you
It's interesting to me that the examples of chest voice are rock n' roll vs the pop songs and sound of using a mix. It's something I notice over and over with many exercises and techniques - they tend to be geared towards the pop sound and it's quite noticeable.
I wonder if there are good examples of using the burrito method with a rock n' roll sound? Or is that chest voice sound what makes it rock n' roll?
Damn. Pretty good explanation.
i wish you had given examples of female singers also .
Thankyou idol
This was confusing to me, because your example of a head voice, was a closed falsetto to me, and I didn't hear what I define as a head voice (think how the British speak, or a more open 'mask' voice). One master of mixed voice I aspire to be like, is Alfredo Kraus. I'm not a tenor, but love how he would combine voices basically as low and as high as he could. He stands out to me as a great classical singer, far more than Pavarotti!
I tried to sing along in that "Take me to your loving arms" part and I nearly died straining my vocal chord. 🗿🤕🤣😭
This was a really helpful video. Some good reinforcement activities.
Great cooking video!
I can sing Belting in multiple ways all ways you mention, I sing everywhere but My home, I dont want My nabors to hear Me, there not good nabors I dont get on with them and they ruin My recordings regularly.
😂 I love the analogy
thanks
Hello, I have a deep voice
Can I sing high note
Ofc you can yoy just need to train on singing higher notes and also your vocal type and range
@@greatodaze7908 really thanks so much for information
My dad is sleeping in the room next to me so i can't try it with my loud voice yay but i did it the loudness level 60 nicely so ism happy thank u
Ive just realized that Ive been belting when I wanted to hit high notes this whole time😅😅Ive never practiced belting but I think Ive learnt it naturally. I was calling it the "it sounds like my nose is kinda clogged but I can hit higher notes" voice xDD
Can I ask, how do u do it, coz I struggle to get it
Pls what should I do for my vocode cord to vibrate,i have a shouting voice and i don't know how to sing but I wish to know cus I love singing I am 38 yrs
Do you have an exercise for mixed head voice to whistle?
Great now I want a burrito :p
Agreed.
We need burritos.
Falsetto+ distortion, is that the same with mask placed head voice?
After the video I don’t want to sing, I want a burrito 😅
Hi Matt!
Thanx bruh I'm a tenor and I just want to nail belting, good examples for me were Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran.
after watching I’m craving for Borito 🤤
How do you sing in mix voice when your chest and head voice sound like two different singers? How do you mix on M1?
I think Sophie Shear explains it well. She explains it as pharyngeal voice as a different resonator place. I found mine very quickly with her help.
NOICE
You made me hungry, tho. 😂 Now I'm burping interested of singing. Anyway good burrito,"" I meant video❤😊
0:17-0:19 EHHHH--MAZING!
is what he meant to say
I never thought that a singing video would make me hungry for a burrito🌯
Hi I thought I signed up for the $50 per month lessons but can't find the email?
Some contralto's like myself need to learn to NOT belt. I need more belt like I need a belt to the head! 😆
Is there a condition that we can send you the sound of our singing?
to catch its faults
Why was I here again? I was fixated on the burrito.
I just got hungry while learning to hit these notes
Brian litrell also has amazing mix.
instruction unclear, had burrito for dinner
What about Easy Bum Notes?
🙏⚡
Can you do a video on how to sing baritone and bass because we all feel a bit left out 😆 ❤ 😍 💖
The only thing with falsetto is it sounds like miss piggy 🐷 😆 ❤ 😍 💖 oh kermie. 😅
Except my burrito sounds like it got tofu and kale stuffed into it ..
Now I’m just hungry at 12:17 am 😂
Singing aside, that burrito tho🤤
Yea and how to do a mixed voice ? I still dont get it
What happens if you don't eat burritos?
That was fun. I doubt I could ever do that...but I'm good at saying Ghee....(Already forgot the others).
so Ghee ghee ghee ghee it is.
From my own personal experience Ive noticed that some people can do this and many cant. Granted, I havent been singing professionally for very long ( I started playing professionally in bands in Sept of 1973, and went solo as a pub entertainer in 1980 and retired from full time road work in nov of 2019) I survived all those years with chest voice. Thats the only useable register that I have. Personally this mixed voice and head voice are something Ive never been able to do. Ive never seen a Unicorn either. From my experience , those that say you can get this with practice, are promoting a deliberate fiction. Your mileage may vary.

What's nail belting?
My highest note in chest is c#4
Well, now I need to go order some burritos and tacos!
Can I learn to sing even with one paralyzed vocal cord?
Why are you mixing up head voice and falsetto? They are very different voices.
I should call her.
Only singing lesson makes me hungry...
now i want to eat
No pay = enx-U
The mixed voice doesn't exist.
How to burrito 🤣
3:10
I don't think "belting" is what you define it as. If you are talking about resonance, just say that. Ok head and chest voice we can understand. But "belting"? Yea can't say that's a thing. Some vocal teachers have a way of overcomplicating things. I don't think singing a high note in your chest voice intentionally wrong to give a bad example is an honest teaching technique. Some singers could easily nail these in either chest or head. I WILL say it's a good thing to focus on though. I always called those notes that can be either voice, "the bridge voice". Ive never given lessons except to my friends and a few guitar students, but if you start your "burrito" you would have had to practice your falsetto for a few weeks/months unless you already had developed your falsetto. Without the strong falsetto there can be no burrito as I see things. And it would be a better use of time to 1st deveop the strong falsetto and then the bridge voice will automatically come naturally especially if you are also strengthening the diaphram as well.
I still don't get it
A friggin burrito? Really!?
Im so hungry
I'm a vegan and I'm offended by this video!! Lol just kidding, it's a great analogy, good work mate.
Mixed voice doesn’t exist. It’s just a softer chest voice.
actually finding mixed is easy hitting the right note is not.
😂😂😂💀
That part tho.
1 Q: No 😢
Basically your tip is to just sing in mixed voice. Well.. finding the mixed voice IS the big challenge and there is no practically helpful information to that in this video.
he pointed out he has multiple videos on that already so this is meant for after youve already watched the videos on finding your mix voice
Thank you for using Ed Sheeran as an example, I came here bc I found I couldn't sing an Ed Sheeran song. Those video clips of the throat were disgusting though, need some sort of graphic content warning next time.
3:32 WTH!!!!!
Ken Tamplin folks. Look him up.
I’m here cos I don’t wanna end up like Trisha paytas
Fuckin' knew it.
No mention of the great Chris Cornell?
Great. Now I’m hungry. 🌮🫔
