I love Blitzball, at some point you can just have Tidus score goals from the other side of the map while the entire team is trying to block the ball lmao The only thing that's really bothering me is the RNG involved in getting certain key abilities and those special items we need for Wakka and co.

Pearson, you smashed it again this week. Great stuff. My mini game distraction is the hacking of machines in Bioshock 1, arranging the pipes so the water can flow through it. I hacked everything!
@@faranior I didn't know there was an earlier game. Might have to look that up. Just as a series I always consider it the ultimate JRPG. Excellent gameplay, compelling story and characters, and so much absurdity that somehow works. Also SH1 had the most unforgiving boss fight I've ever encountered.
Always nice to know that I'm not alone in my love of Blitzball. My first playthrough of FFX, I probably had about as much time in Blitzball as I did in the rest of the game.
I did the exact same thing on Crash Team Racing on ps vita last month, finished 1st in every race, beat all but 1 of the bosses, then Nitrous Oxide pops up. I reversed away from his ship, drove all the way back to world 1, and started earning all the tokens and relics instead for another 6+ hours
Often, it isn't right before the final boss, but towards the middle and approaching the end where I start goofing off with the minigames to take a break from grinding.
I was obsessed with Blitzball in Final Fantasy X to the point not a single team could even touch me. Every game was an easy win with loads of goals, and I still kept playing... Nimrook, Ropp, Zalitz, Brother, Zev Ronso, Vilucha, Shaami, Naida, Tidus, Jumal... they're Blitzball heroes in my book!
I loved blitzball too. I even got a few friends together at a pool party and using a water torpedo toy, we're played it in real life! I still remember having the torpedo and trying to get around a blocker to toss to a team mate. I only succeeded when I was upside down. Most intense sport I've ever played.
From what I recall of Blitzball, I bought up all the worlds goalies, and just used brother to tackle thru the defenders before taking a shot. being able to score within 15 seconds of getting the ball regardless of which team started with the ball.
Yes, I too stopped doing any leveling in Final Fantasy X for more than a week while powering up my Blitzball team to a ridiculous degree. Actually, I even wound up starting a new game when I realized I had missed picking up Wakka’s unique move in my original play through. Of course, that just could not stand...
Super-relatable. In DBZ Boudakai 2 I made it a requirement to gather at least two different items on each map, take down every opponent on each map, unlock every character by beating mini-bosses with certain characters, and finding the dragonball on each map in every run in preparation for Kid Buu. But if youre on the final map and you take too long, Kid Buu comes for you!!
You're not a million miles away with the spoon analogy, in fishing a "spoon" is a type of lure that used to be made by cutting the head off a metal kitchen spoon, drilling a hole through either end and attaching the line to one hole and a set of hooks to the other. When cast out and retrieved it spins due to the shape, glitters in the sunlight and looks sort of like an injured fish to any passing predators.
Mass Effect 3: doing the Citadel DLC (including completing the Armax Arena and all the party stuff) before bothering to take down Cerberus and fight the Reapers on Earth.
Without spoiling anything, in _Horizon Zero Dawn_ I put off doing The Heart Of The Nora because I knew those events would happen whenever I showed up, despite the game telling me it was urgent. So, I helped Vanasha by doing Traitor's Bounty and Queen's Gambit instead. At least I can tell myself I was putting off saving lives by saving other lives. Even if I was saving fewer lives.
6:42 - 7:19 Idk why, but I found this way funnier than it should've been. I replayed it over and over a couple of times and it gets better everytime I watch it. XD
YEA BLITZBALL!! I used to make my team so badass, go around everywhere recruiting the best players and learning every single technique until I was completely unbeatable!
Breeding a gold chocobo and obtaining Knights of the Round was one of my greatest accomplishments as a kid, I won't lie. In FFX, I took the Besaid Aurochs from chumps to champions, without ever changing any of the players because I was determined to make them absolutely great with "cheating" and getting better players. I won every match I played from the matches in Luca onward, and I felt far more impressed with myself than the times I defeated Sin and Yu Yevon.
That explains Delsin's absence. He's off playing mini-games before coming back to fight Rob.
Good 1 sir

Pearson, you smashed it again this week. Great stuff. My mini game distraction is the hacking of machines in Bioshock 1, arranging the pipes so the water can flow through it. I hacked everything!
Friday Feature! My precious...
Hun Blitzball is FANTASTIC and genuinely so much fun. Always played at least one match at every single save point to keep the seasons ticking along.
Rob have you ever played the Shadow Hearts series on PS2?
Best JRPG series I've ever played. And as a bonus, start with Koudelka on PS1 for some more background and lore.
It features Koudelka Iasant exploring the monastery (forgot it's name) that becomes the float.
Always nice to know that I'm not alone in my love of Blitzball. My first playthrough of FFX, I probably had about as much time in Blitzball as I did in the rest of the game.
Well now I'm hurt. I didn't really like blitzball......
I love Blitz Ball so much! I invested sooo much time into that “mini game”.
why do you have low graphics PC witcher 3 footage on the kaer morhen attack? lol
Thats what im saying my base PS4 looked better than that lol
I did the exact same thing on Crash Team Racing on ps vita last month, finished 1st in every race, beat all but 1 of the bosses, then Nitrous Oxide pops up. I reversed away from his ship, drove all the way back to world 1, and started earning all the tokens and relics instead for another 6+ hours
Triple Triad > all. No, it's not as complex as other great mini games, and that's exactly why it's the best. Simplicity with a great hook.
Thank you! I feel so stupid whenever I play gwent. It's the one thing keeping me from the platinum...
Often, it isn't right before the final boss, but towards the middle and approaching the end where I start goofing off with the minigames to take a break from grinding.
This video was click 'bait', it was a good 'lure', you 'caught' me enjoying it
I was obsessed with Blitzball in Final Fantasy X to the point not a single team could even touch me. Every game was an easy win with loads of goals, and I still kept playing...
Nimrook, Ropp, Zalitz, Brother, Zev Ronso, Vilucha, Shaami, Naida, Tidus, Jumal... they're Blitzball heroes in my book!
Northern Realms > all
My Friday doesn’t start until I see Rob’s cute bald head! Long live Friday’s feature!
I loved blitzball too. I even got a few friends together at a pool party and using a water torpedo toy, we're played it in real life! I still remember having the torpedo and trying to get around a blocker to toss to a team mate. I only succeeded when I was upside down. Most intense sport I've ever played.
Hands up anyone else proudly in the Chocobo inbreeding club?
**Raises hand**
*puts my chocobo rolley in the sky*
Totally in the club.
From what I recall of Blitzball, I bought up all the worlds goalies, and just used brother to tackle thru the defenders before taking a shot.
being able to score within 15 seconds of getting the ball regardless of which team started with the ball.
**PLAYSTAION SQUAD!!** 🔔
Thank you guys. Watching your videos has revived my love for video games...even if i dont currently have a ps ;) I loved fable too much.

Thats it yeah 😅
Yes, I too stopped doing any leveling in Final Fantasy X for more than a week while powering up my Blitzball team to a ridiculous degree.
Actually, I even wound up starting a new game when I realized I had missed picking up Wakka’s unique move in my original play through. Of course, that just could not stand...
Rob looks disgustingly proud of those fishing lines... I love it!
I remember beating Seohiroth with lucky number 7 and knights of the round, on max level on both characters and material. It was so glorious.
