I had the good fortune of meeting Steve Cropper when I lived in Paris. He shared numerous wonderful stories of working with a host of great artists and told them in a most entertaining fashion. A true gentlemen and a legend in his own time.
I love Steve Cropper, and he proves to be an constant source of inspiration for my guitar playing. I've also enjoyed your lessons, but this lesson made me hit the subscribe button.
The intro to Soul Man is soooooo Steve Cropper. I could hear it in almost everything you played. Love it! This is where all guitar players need to come for a dose of guitar goodness. SUBSCRIBE and get all the goods people!
Hell yeah man this was helpful AF. 😅. Very eye opening for the fret board. I found a new neighborhood to hangout in becsuse of it. I play in a cover band that plays some country this will help big time. Also I play in drop D a lot, im going to try this in that tuning with the sixth and fourth strings. Thanks man 🙏. Helpful and easy to follow as always. Take care man
There is an awesome interview of Steve conducted by the late Joe Chambers. Joe was a leading force at The Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN. The interview is or was posted the Musicians Hall of Fame UA-cam account. The interview may be broken up into smaller sections instead of one long video, I cant really remember. If any of y’all are a fan of Steve it might be worth checking out.
Jammed Together... what an album ... Cropper's CV is jaw-dropping
I agree 💯. I recently found a near mint copy in the dollar record bin , I couldn’t believe it.
Steve's fills on Dock of the Bay bring a lump to my throat. It's like he's illuminating the lyrics, wringing every last drop of meaning from the song.
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day ❤😊

Thanks for this video David!
Thank you so much for this one. I've been getting into his playing even more these days after watching the STAX documentary. Perfect timing for me!
Love Steve Cropper! Thanks for covering his techniques. A lot of other teachers never even touch him and that is a sad thing!
A perfect player. No notes wasted 🤟🤠🤟
Great episode. Cropper played on all those Albert King Stax albums 🤩
Thank you, thank you, thank you
I have been on a Jimmy Nolen and Steve Cropper kick lately. Get out of my head Dave! Can't wait to buy Nilbog!

Fantastic choice, David!
Love me some telecaster!!! 🤠🤠🤠
Steve is the man!
Cropper's playing has a timeless quality to it & he always played for the song. Now, how about some Matt Murphy (the other Blues Brothers guitarist).
Steve "The King" Cropper
Awesome Video!!!
Do a video on Cornell Dupree!!
Hi David have you ever explored Alvin Lee’s contributions (Ten Years After). He was a standout guitar player in the 60s.
Aretha should of been at top of that list. IMHO
"The Colonel".
Jus grab that G an smear it !!!!!!!!! 😆
He was kind of like the hitmaker before Nile Rodgers. Who you should do is selling secrets about.
