Not mentioned in the video: There is also a small atlas tree with 8 points dedicated to map bossing. Additionally, another tree with 6 points is unlocked after defeating the Uber Pinnacle Boss in the Monolith.
Also not mentioned are the special mapping nodes, like the fishing village where you meet Krilson, a returning NPC (_completely made up, don't take serious_)
I’m not quite sure what people are saying when they have concerns regarding this systems, saying if my character can’t do X then I’ll be blocked from X and feel like I can’t progress. That’s how POE has always been and I think people are failing to realize you do not need to do ALL of them besides the trials and even then you only have to select one or the other. People are forgetting trade exists. You can just buy things from a mechanic you can’t do with currency you earn from a mechanic you can do. It’s about farming the end game with whatever you want/can farm. You’re not expected to everything all at once unless you’re SSF or wanting to pursue that. Plus if you can’t do one endgame mechanic farm the way stones so that you can get gear so you can do them. Isn’t this what an ARPG is about? Why are people questioning this lol
Exactly how I see it. GGG made it even easier to not fail imo. Just traverse the nodes that have no or easy mechanics and no bosses on them and all you gonna do is blast maps. Sure, it "feels" bad when you fail something but that's the same as wasting all your portals. You still gonna get all the loot you collected up to that point which you can use to trade for stuff.
You're right in that poe has always been like that but there also have always been people who complained about that stuff. I remember when GGG introduced the Conquerors in metamorph league people were upset that they had to defeat bosses to progress their atlas. In response to that GGG made the first bosses that you have to defeat in the current endgame to progress really accessable and easy which makes the early endgame a bit boring imo so I hope that they don't repeat that mistake in poe 2. The Conquerors were really well designed because they did a lot of damage but it was all avoidable so if your build was bad you could still progress if you were good at the fights. I think in poe 2 most bosses are like that too.
The problem is PoE2 is intended to draw in a new, broader audience. And most people want to be able to acquire everything themselves and realistically do things themselves. PoE1 is the only game that expects you to not be able to progress in a reasonable time frame by yourself and makes you rely on buying things from other people.
@@TheCosmicAstro- If they balanced their game around self-found/easy progression they would have to shut down trade because the economy would be destroyed. They are slowly inching towards the thin red line where it will keel over completely. I think they are smart enough to not fall into the same trap as every other game where if you try to please everyone you end up pleasing noone. They are trying to grow their niche, not leave it.
@rhodan74 i agree on not trying go please everyone. PoE1 players have PoE1 and will continue to have PoE1 They don't need to please them. Glad we're on the same page 👍
Everyone is welcome to their own opinion, but I can't help but notice a lot of the negative reactions seem to always be misunderstanding something or missing information. Even if this video does a great job of explaining the various specific mechanics, it seems some folks aren't grasping the actual depth and breadth of it, somehow. I was skeptical of PoE2 and really thought the lack of act 4-6 was a bad sign, and that the lack of endgame info was worrying. Then they dropped this bombshell - it's objectively the biggest endgame, by far, of any ARPG launch - and it's just EA. Their goal is to roughly double the game during EA - that's both by finishing Acts 4-6 AND more endgame. I wish I understood the few disappointed people - to better converse with them - but I just can't. I don't want to sound defensive or like a shill....like I said, I was on the fence. It's just that the only logical, basically-objective conclusion to this announcement is that it's insanely impressive.
I was absolutely in the same place as you, I was skeptical too until I played the game and realised it's just a giant upgrade to poe1 in pretty much every way, yes there are differences between the games but I think overall it will be for the best and I believe most others will see that once they get to try it out
The only thing I'm worried about now is crafting and how ssf friendly the game with be. Crafting looks more approachable but end-game crafting looks like basically slightly worse harvest. Which is already bad. And by ssf friendly I mean designing progression for the individual player to be around ssf progress. Of course trade existing is great. But especially for poe2 the game needs to be first and foremost about the player actually playing the game. Not trading.
I do understand that I'm probably not your target audience. But as someone new to POE in general, explanations without referencing poe1 would be super helpful and greatly appreciated.
More like they were the easiest to implement for this first version. We'll see what new stuff gets added in. If PoE2 Delirium has taken the anoint system from Blight, it does make me curious to see what Blight's new reward system would be.
noob here, can you explain how i can fight the expedition and delirium pinnacle bosses? i understood at breach and ritual. Thanks in advance. PS.: love your voice and accent, makes me so calm, probably i am gonna listen your videos when i will start play pőoe2 :D

I'm...honestly not a fan of how they gate so much progression behind A) beat the map boss B) beat ritual C) beat ultimatum. It feels like between an under-geared build, not being a mechanical god, and any number of other things going wrong (skill issue, I know), it'll be VERY easy to just get stonewalled. Also, it seems that with the basic tree only going to 30 points, and all the *other* trees essentially being boss-gated, there doesn't really seem to be an option for "I'm just going to try and maximize my loot from blasting random mobs in regular maps" playstyle. Now, granted that every build will have a bunch of room to get a bossing combo, every archetype should have the *potential* to be at least decently competent at bossing, but I can't help but think that between how much Mark pogs out at boss design, and how all progress is gated behind interacting with those boss encounters, that there's definitely a bit of Dark-Souls-ification of PoE going into PoE2. This is definitely good when the point is to have players interact with bosses in order to fully use all the tools in their build on these tougher enemies, but...if for whatever reason, that goes *wrong*, it might feel very, very bad. A combination of hype and trepidation going on here for me, as my question basically is: "what's someone to do starting off?"
Good, we need some challenges while playing. PoE 1 becomes trivial when you gear yourself properly and GGG, thankfully, decided to address this mindless grind. Now you will actually need to pay attention to the boss and mechanics, and you won't be able to do immortal builds that abuse stuff like flasks to get permanent full HP or other ridiculous stuff. Also, if you don't like increased difficulty then stick to PoE 1
You know…just play the game. New gen gamers are hilarious 😂 literally just play anything you find fun and you are winning over all the copy paste players. Stop comparing your progress with others. Don’t get obsessed over clearing the game with your first character.
im perfectly fine with bossgating, but what I hate in games (any games actually) is limited boss tries (spend time to get to a boss / spend keys to enter / spend finite resources during fight, etc)
As long as its not memory-game gated I'll be fine with bosses. The only boss i STILL cannot do is Maven. I've only beaten her 3 times without doling out currency for a carry because I got lucky on the memory games, normally I cannot remember them well enough. I HATE that fight due to that one mechanic. I can do the other ubers no problem. They don't have short-term memory gated mechanics.
@@fast1nakus I’d like your input on the problems, what are they? Where do they stem? What causes them? What solutions are there? Is it a personal problem? Is it an actual problem everyone will face? PoE 2 endgame feels weird, concept looks cool but execution is roughs at the edges, mostly because of mechanic preventing you to return to map that you failed and atlas passive clusters (Did it remind anyone else of Grimdawns constelations?) passives that were presented feel to simple compared to PoE 1 Atlas Hope they improve/change it dunning early access.
The atlas passives fix the problem of need to respec your atlas all the time to play the content you want. Now you can specialize in all of them simultaniously as you see fit and adjust each mechanic for which types of rewards you want. Rings vs slinters vs other thing we dont know about yet. For the maps portion, its a medium core type of gameplay that will teach you the current limits of your character and prevent corpse rushing. If you die to +4 difficulty breach with x2 deli, then next time try it with 1x deli or +3 breach difficulty
Atlas is infinite. Maps are random. The next map is just one click away. The next map in the same biome is a one - few clicks away. Why would I wanna repeat the same map I just failed ? It's even more newbie friendly: just pick maps w/o bosses and mechanics and blast away.
@@mirellie4445 the main downside I'm seeing is you can't FULLY spec into a league mechanic anymore. In poe1 if you want all of the delirium. Nodes. You can get all of the delirium nodes. In poe2 you only get 8 skill points even if there are 16 nodes. Other than that though, I like the new system
@@TheCosmicAstro- in PoE1 a league mechanic was only good if you have all of the nodes. With PoE 2 being designed around only having 8 of 16 nodes each of the individual nodes can be much more powerful and you get to target farm which part of the mechanic you want more at that time. Breach for example, want more splinters? then pick the node that literally DOUBLES splinter drop, not 20% or 25% more, DOUBLE. Ontop of the big nodes, the difficulty nodes also increase rewards.
I don't know how many people feel the way i do, but i am really disappointed in the Endgame. It does not feel like a part 2 to me. More like 1.5 with all the recycling of the old Leagues... I don't know, i expected something new i guess.
