That's what makes trolling fun, knowing that it drives someone up a wall. I was in a conversation earlier on a different thread, different channel - ad the guy shouting at everyone was spouting almost all the topics dev talked about as trolling. Only difference was he believed in it 1000%.

I wouldn't even call it the Spiderman meme because when the left hunkers down on something they want to label a "conspiracy theory", most of the time it's something that has a lot of backing to it. Example: the 2020 election was rigged. It is genuinely fucking difficult to rationalize what happened that election between all the shady shit happening in the background, the left's complete unwillingness to simply check the votes, the fact that we had hundreds of thousands of votes coming in from empty parking lots, the push for mail in voting which coincidentally/conveniently evolved into a "It was the mail in votes" argument the moment people noticed Biden would randomly push forward in votes in key states over night while voting facilities were shut down, the fact you had people literally caught on camera disposing of Trump votes, just so on and so on. The list is so egregious that it is easier to simply rationalize it as "Do you REALLY think Joe Biden was popular enough to not only beat Trump's record numbers, but Obama's?". And that is a question that actual gets dumber the kore you think about it considering how his rallies would legit have more dissenters than supporters while Trump was just killing it in stadiums.
None of the facts added up at all. But oh well! Into the conspiracy theory basket it goes... Name "conspiracy theory" is a propaganda term invented to lump together schizoid phantasies with real whistleblowers trying uncover abuse of power and crimes against humanity. For example, if i said that CIA implanted a wireless microphone in a cat to spy on people easier. It sounds so outlandish that it could be easily dismissed and called a conspiracy theory, if not for declassified CIA documents.
There is a lot of crazy things going on in the world. For another example, i am from Russia, and this year an underground prison was found under private rural cottage, right under the sauna. The prison was a copy of Russian state prisons, with registry desk and everything. Territory was already abandoned when it was found, but someone lived there just few years prior. Journalists found out that the cottage was once owned by a Russian prison system's general. As soon as this founding went public, authorities buried the entrance and demolished the buildings, justifying that they already investigated everything a year ago. There were no elaboration further or any other publication of findings by the authorities. Only some ""experts"" saying that it probably was just a fun innocent quest room for rich people.
If there were no publicity on this case, and someone said that people are tortured in a private underground prison, that's a detailed copy of the real prison, they could be easily dismissed as just another crazy person with their crazy ramblings.
It's almost a given that we should be living in a world where the powers that be at least have some ridiculously interesting knowledge that they hide from us, lest we go nuts from that revelation. That kind of shit just comes with the territory of having that dimension of power over so many facets of society.

The instant I saw that chart I knew something was off. It stops measuring conspiracies on how verifiable they are to how 'problematic' they are yet the chart stays the same despite becoming a two-way axis. It continues to go in one direction so it blatantly shows the author's political biases. Charts like this should be non-partisan with a removal of the "danger" factor completely. Around half the shit above the area 51 section can be put in "we have questions" which they're really calling "true but we can't prove it." The chart doesn't actually work in this format. How about make a chart with a way to measure extremity of allegation, the verifiability of said allegation and the supposed danger of believing in it. That could work and include your personal views.
EDIT: It turns out as she was making the chart, people kept pointing out the "dangerous" conspiracies that did turn out true and she just removed them instead of putting them in verified. Disgusting.
Absolutely agree! This chart is frankly a strawman. A chart should be weighted based on the ratio of Verified Fact : Unverified Claims. I'm not sure it's even helpful to say how "dangerous" a conspiracy is, when it could be that even the most dangerous conspiracy is true. What does it matter if the truth is dangerous? Truth has always been a danger to those who seek to manipulate others.
Putting joke conspiracies in there alongside real ones is so disingenuous that there's no way this was meant to be anything but biased propaganda.

Or even where a woman’s claim of rape against a man is enough to ruin his life, whereas the reversed is laughed at or instantly disbelieved. I was raped in High School by a senior who said if I sought help she’d tell everyone I had raped her. She ended up getting caught two victims later and is still in prison. I always find it odd that these people call themselves "materialists" given that Marxist "material" view the universe involves having to reject basic principles found in physics such as, relativity, the big bang, quantum mechanics and even basic aspects of Newtonian physics. Not to mention aspects of Darwinian evolution as well. I remember when I was apart of Marxist reading group (that's two years of my life I'm not getting back) they would save all this reality denying stuff to the very end, as a proof of your dedication. Of course, there are people who misuse the word "troll" for "anyone who has a controversial opinion I disagree with." I used to think bigfoot was obviously fake, but I actually took the time to look into both sides. I was surprised to discover that the original bigfoot film has still not been disproven. In fact, there are primate experts who have viewed the film and the footprint casts and determined that it couldn't possibly be human because the foot is far too accurate to a large primate and it matches the walk perfectly. And when you go to the sight where it was filmed, you get to see how big it really is, making the creature huge, as well as ending in an extremely steep incline which the creature just quickly walked up like it was nothing, when's human would have needed to climb with their hands.
There's also a piece of anecdotal evidence which I would usually not site, but it was extremely convincing. It was a 911 call where a man saw one approaching his home from the woods and through his back yard. He sounded terrified, but was clearly aware that if he said "bigfoot" or described it too clearly, they wouldn't send the police. He was basically saying a very large, nude, hairy nude man was approaching his house. I think he broke at one point trying to convey urgency and called the thing "huge". He also kept repeating to send men with guns. His fear was palpable, and he never sought to tell his story to anyone.

To be fair, as an engineer I can tell you jet fuel does not melt steel beams… but it absolutely will weaken structural steel when combine with a massive impact of force to the point where it will structurally fail.
