Happy (week late) Double Life One year anniversary! I took this project on two days before the anniversary and finished shortly 6 days later of none stop working. Thank you to all the Double life+ Life series members who have given us such wonderful stories and memories.

i am literally balling my eyes out. when Double Life began it was the first Life Series i watched live and it wasn’t anything i expected. IT WAS BETTER THAN EXPECTED! this animatic was amazing. probably one of my favorite ones

This is such a beautiful and nostalgic feeling animatic. I love how it goes full circle, from Scott spawning in on Double Life after his win to Pearl spawning into Limited Life after hers. It's so cool.

Oh my goodness! That was amazing! I already praised the intro to high heaven on Twitter, but again I must praise you on it, the placements of the characters in the opening sequence are perfect! The soul bounds that are separated through rifts and angst being on 2 different sides of the screen while the closely intertwined duos are in the middle and right next to eachother.
The fact the animatic covers so much in so little time, it doesn't miss a moment! I feel like almost everything was here! The deaths, the little moments, the finding soulmates and what not! And the little effects of when soulmates feel damage, the fades of colour when someone looses a life as the final moments hit! And the lil facial expressions ranging from cartoonishly funny to seriously drawn, it feels like the best celebration of Double life you could have made because it not only highlights the epic moments and tragic moments like Scotts final sacrifice for Pearl to win and each of the serious pvp deaths, but also highlights those silly and funny moments such as Tango and Jimmy first meeting after loosing their first lives and Martyns "bad math" moment with Cleo. I love every second of this. Every second, every beat felt uses fully and I adore it. 10/10 would watch it again!
Thank you! Honestly it makes my world to see people noticing all the details I put into this. I tried making it as accurate as I could with the videos regarding timeline, backgrounds, placement, and items.

I liked this a lot, the drawings do a great job of showing the characters in just a few lines, and the song is a good fit!
I found it from the end of Grians series, and I've wanted to do something with it since! The one year seemed like the most perfect time
STOPP, OKAY OKAY DUDE. I LOVE THIS ALL SO MUCH- THE DETAILS- THE SONG- ANIMATION- EVERYTHING. OKAY ALLOW ME TO GUSH OVER THIS FOR A FEW SECONDS-
First of all, already in the INTRO, we get a detail of first showing all the strong, healthy relationships (Bdubs+Imp, Tango+Jimmy, Joel+Etho, who never really had distrust or a break in their relationship) and then we're followed by the more shakey relationships, where their partners are diagonal to them, with their more "secret soulmates" being on a horizontal line to them. (e.g. Grian having Scar, his actual partner, diagonally from him, while BigB, his Secret soulmate, is horizontal to him. Same can be said for everyone else!! AAAA I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!)
Okay- OKAY BUT CAN I JUST APPRECIATE HOW THERE'S SO MUCH DETAILS IN THE *EYES ALONE*. It's used throughout the entire animation but the fact when someone is in the process of their death their eyes (or other colored garments as in the case of Scar falling into the zombies) tHE GRADIENT CHANGES FROM THEIR CURRENT COLOR TO THE COLOR THEY'RE BECOMING?!?! Like STOP AHHGH THAT'S SO COOL!! And MAN with the final deaths turning into this dull gray, it fits both the fact their dead and that they turn into spectator mode so well!!! ANYWAYS, all that to say because at the VERY beginning, for a SPLIT second, you can see Scott's eyes green, with the gradient of red, showing how his lives are resetting back to full!! AAAAA ITS THE LITTLE DETAILS THAT ARE JUST- 🤌🤌
Okay next, let me just say that the animation and the drawings are SO PLEASING to look at!! I love how the character designs mantain who they are so its easy to tell who is who, but with your own style mixed in!! It flows so well and it's truely spectacular!! 1:03 having the reference to the darkness effect as their in the ancient city- it's so gOOD, AAA THERE'S SO MANY DETAILS I CANT!! OkOK but we have to talk ~RED LINE~ though- Like again, it's a fairly small thing, but it is SUCH a smart way of conveying the players getting hurt, with it flowing from the source to their partner! It's such a cool, genius way to show the link of the character!! My personal favorite use is expressing Cleo's absolute annoyance at 0:43 as she's continuously getting hurt my Martin. The pain line perfectly expresses that she isn't the one causing the damage, but is suffering because of her partner!! ITS SO SMART AND JUST- AAA! 👏
Final rambles, first off the way the beginning sets up each character discovering their partner's is so wonderful and serves as a way to kind of "fill in the viewer" but also recap everyone finding out! The attention to detail is amazing! (And stop- the flashback to 3rd Life with Impulse and Bdub-... don't make me cry now- (OKAY BUT I JUST NOTICED IT TIES WITH THE "I DONT WANNA LOOK BACK" AS IN DWELLING IN THE PAST- AAAA ITS EVEN MORE AMAZING THEN I ALREADY THOUGHT-)). I could go on and on about all the references and how accurate it is to the actual series, but I'd be writing a whole book at that point ahsfashfa.
I don't know if it's intentional but at 1:00 this is a nice parrallel to their characters. The way Pearl is fully on the ground, submerged in snow with a grin, contrasted to Scar just partially in the snow with a warm smile shows how Pearl really is upset with Scott (character wise- not irl lol) and is fine with making him freeze, where it seems Scar is kind of upset about Grian wanting to get away from him, but he still loves his partner and doesn't really want to cause any significant actual harm. Idk but it's such a cool detail from one little scene ;w;
Finally, the ending scene where it looks to be just Pearl in the center of the rest of the members- but then it cuts out everyone else and reveals only the winnerS! JEEZ!! It's so cool 😭 Grian's cheeky stare while the other two are more solemn- AGGH!! YOU DID SO AMAZING, YOU ARE SO TALENTED.
I really like this, particularly the shot at the very beginning, where all the soulmates who were loyal were in the centre, while all the soulmates who had some... issues are along the edge, further separated. Great animatic!

WOA! I just found this, and it is AMAzing! well done encapsulating the double life series as a whole, nice colour usage as well. I just started animation, and seeing any kind of animation others make is honestly ten fold more impressive now I know how hard it is!
I love the two scenes where scott sprays tnt around himself and killed the himself(you drew it so gracefully!) and the final shot of the three winners, with only grian with open eyes, like, wow. chills man. :)

I adore the amount of movement you put into each frame! Some animatics try, and fail, to mostly use still frames, but you made it work! @Everen did something similar, using moving frames to convey a sense of motion, but they used slow movements to suit a slow, dramatic song. Meanwhile, you used quick, jumpy movements to match a similarly bouncy song. You have a great sense for movement in animation, which perfectly suits your adorable art style! Great work!

Late reply but, Im pretty sure it's just the unofficial titles/motifs for the victors, that pop up in fan art.
First Victor: Grian -> The Sun. Because Grian means the sun in Irish I think (honestly, I thought it was because he was the "centre" of the series, as in he organized it, but haven't found anyone saying that.)
Second Victor: Scott - The Star/Stars. I honestly don't know why, but it pops up.
Third Victor: Pearl -> The Moon. Come from Pearlescent Moon. The moon is also often used as a symbol of madness, so it fits her.
Also, the victor from limited life doesn't really have one single title. The most common is Mars (the Roman god of war) but I've also seen him refered to as Meteor and The Sea.

Wow! When I made that comment, before that actually, I was watching the end of Double Life on Grian's channel! I watched it and was like "Wait a minute. Didn't VesperionNox use that for his animatic?" I guess I was paying attention to it. Then again, I hardly ever stop watching it.
