Who was most responsible for breaking up Michael Jordan's dynasty?
The owner & Jerry Krause
Jerry Krause
Yes he did for sure
It's was owner and gm fault!!!!
Phil Jackson

Plot twist, Skip is writing a documentary titled “I Was There” and he’s been slowly advertising low key this whole time. It’s the long con and we all fell for it.

Jerry Krause said at the start of the season that Phil Jackson is done after the end of the season, so I understand why Phil Jackson rejected to come back to a team that didn’t want him at the start of the season 🙄🤦🏾♂️
Yeah, the yo-yo effect, Upper Management wore them out.
Phil already had plans on leaving. He wasn't coming back regardless of what Jerry said or did
also it's not like he would be returning to a team that had MJ, pip, ker, rodman, etc. they were going to be trading everyone
I'm with Skip that Phil is a snakey character that I get the same vibe in this Docu as Isiah Thomas. As much as I loathe this type of person I agree with Phil's decision to take a sabbatical.
After a decade of this world wide phenomena if he's not burned out and exhausted after 6 championships, even if ignoring what disrespect the GM showed him. Not wanting to coach a rebuild team with just MJ staying and everyone else leaves assuming because the team can't afford them what others might be offering.
If this is Phil's second year first ever championship okay he should stay. And it's unfair for MJ to speak for everyone that they'll be back for a 4th.
I'm just assuming everyone's contract ending at 98 is a bit contrived. If people are still bound by contract and can't leave then you offer everything to get MJ Pip back and go again.
Unfortunate Bulls have been rebuilding since.
@@LightBrand they should of never went throught the rebuild to begin with, which is one or the reasons he left

Wouldn't it have made more sense for Phil to try and get Jordan to take a year off come out West with him and win possibly two or 3 more titles with the Lakers?
Reeal Evans Good point, if he was the Svengali as Skip adamantly claims.
Reeal Evans exactly lol. How skip has a job still baffles me.
And he leaves out the part about already having Tim Floyd lined up to coach the rebuild as early as 1996 after the 4th championship.
@@revans100591 I guess since kobe was the 2 guard that wasnt gonna fly. Plus I think kobe wanted to win as the star not get overshadowed by mj. I agree with Skip. If Michael even remotely tried to get everyone back together for even one more season I think they all would have been in. The unfortunate part about this series is Krause isn’t around to give his POV. Even now I think Phil is using this as a way to blame Krause for everything even tho he ultimately had final say about coming back.
What if the "deal" was far below market value? So yeah a contract was "offered" but at an insulting amount. So yeah, "well see Phil is not truthfully due to a deal being offered" but reality...they offered me a deal that did not pay a winning coach what he should be paid
@@pele914 interesting point.
It was clear:

Also I gotta say this: if any of you that are attacking Skip on this particular matter are this era LeBron fans that think he is the GOAT, ya really are some hypocrites but it is the SAME LeBron James fans that will attack Skip for him saying he was there during the Last Dance but not physically seeing him in the documentary that are claiming James as the GOAT over MJ but NEVER went back and watched him play in any FULL games or anything like that (just little highlights here and there) so in truth....ya WERE NOT there to see Michael play so you kinda lose credibility to speak on this

He was the lead sports writer for the Chicago tribune during that time lol u don’t think they would send the lead guy to cover the city’s b-ball team ??
Where was he at tho?
Foh if he was so close to him as he says he would at least be in one scene

Skip just realized that Michael is also Jordan LOL 🤣
15:24 love when Skip mocked him 😂
I've been wondering this whole time, if skip was so close and had so much inside info, why didn't they ask him to be apart of the documentary?
Coaching young Kobe & Shaq >>>>> Coaching 35 year old MJ 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Im happy he came to my city
Phil wanted to win a ring without MJ and he did.
He had started dating Jeanie Buss around this time if I'm not mistaken. So Phil was ready to leave Chicago for sunny California anyway.
Truly!
Lol he hated young Kobe
Come on Skip why you going after Phil like that 😂 him being the villain is a stretch
No, it’s not. A lot of us Bulls fans have suspected for years that Phil wasn’t above board either.
Phil had a handshake deal with LA, and knew that if he didn’t get Jordan’s Bulls out of the way, his Lakers wouldn’t win chips while they were around.
@@Jatycre skip indeed saying the truth that he was slamming phil in 1998 lol
phil had already mentioned of his sabbatical as early as 1995.
That is the real reason Krause started looking for a new coach.
Then Jordan came back and phil had to adjust his sabbatical to give way to Jordans quest for another 3peat.
People old enough know the fact that skip was really slamming phil in 98 lol
@@realitybites629 Skip is still a clown though, and I'm old enough to remember when he first came to the Tribune as a columnist. Part of Phil's need for a sabbatical was Krause's constant disrespect and need for affirmation. Krause believed just like he moved on from Doug Collins to Phil Jackson and shocked everyone and it worked out, he thought he could do the same with Tim Floyd replacing Phil. Krause said REPEATEDLY he didn't want to be the Boston Celtics and hold on to the aging players too long, he wanted to be the Baltimore Orioles who were title contenders from the 1960's into the 1980's. Krause was itching to rebuild and Tim Floyd was ALWAYS his choice to rebuild with. Reinsdorf bowed to public pressure from fans and media though and kept the team together in 1997-98, but by then Phil was sick of Krause's BS and Reinsdorf allowing it.
@@lewalcindor9356 phil is a great manipulator.
If you are old enough, you would have known that phil had also did it to Jerry West.
The GMs Job is to put the pieces so that the ORGANIZATION will stay on the top for as long as they can.
If you are a PRO, you know you getting paid to do your JOB.
Phil should have been professional about it and waited until management final decision, instead of organizing a smear campaign on Jerry.
Reinsdorf did in fact asked phil to stay in the end but phil was keen on having a BREAK.
Phil knew MJ was a notoriously loyal person, and he capitalized on it.
Skip really has the Zen master living in his head.

Lol, underrated comment.
People acting like losing to MJ on this debate is a terrible thing, cmon chill out. LeBron is great but like any player when compared to Michael Jordan he’s gonna lose and that’s okay. MJ is just in a league of his own 🐐
Facts just cause Bron isn’t better than MJ, doesn’t mean we need to disrespect him. He’s top 5-10 of basketball players of all time nothing to be ashamed about lol
Show Genius i can agree with top 3, I just said top 5 so everybody can agree cause everybody has their own opinions. That being said you don’t know basketball if Lebron is outside your top 10 list
Their no such thing as goat
LeBron is second best player of all time. Jordan is the undisputed number one.
I was there when we landed on the moon...lol
DBZ DBS 😂
Skip was there but he wasn’t apart of it like he claims
Lmao you right, if he was he would've been in the doc at least once.
But were you there?
Skip" Michael Jeffrey Jordan" Bayless......
@@jakeblaze7663 he obviously was there and involved because he knows Skip wasn't.
Skip was absolutely there as the beat writer for the Chicago Tribune.. these are facts he was at many games and gave many interviews
I can imagine skip sitting in his living room rolling on the floor crying watching the last episode of the last dance
If my boss said to me what Krause said to Phil, I’d be out too.
Maybe, but if Phil is Jordan's friend, he tries to convince him to remain an active player regardless of what Phil does
I actually like Skip, but it drives me MAD when he calls MJ “Michael Jeffrey Jordan” like stop it, you are not his father!!!!!!!
He isn’t acting like his father lol...
Another aspect is that Toni Kukoc was incredible in 99' as well. Even if Pippen & Phil didn't come back MJ easily could have made it to the ECF. The Pacers might have got their revenge but man who really knows...
Damn why you disrespect Steve Kerr like that😂😂😂
And judd buechler
He does it so MJ looks even better. It’s ridiculous. Jordan is the goat but come on, he had the GOAT coach and an amazing team around him. No need to discredit everyone
Steve Kerr "saved" Jordan's legacy in his 5th title run
Skip sipping the sweat juice out of Jordan jock strap.
Skip really gotta protect his "I love MJ" image 😂😂😂 peep @17:50 they edit out something he says to shannon
I always heard that Phil was actually the one that wanted to leave, but that he basically mind-controlled everyone into an “us” (Phil and Bulls guys) versus “him” (Krause) mentality. After seeing this documentary, this pretty much confirmed it. If you think about it....it makes perfect sense. At the very beginning, he put out that book that said “The Last Dance,” which already signaled to the guys that this would be it, no matter what.
MJ didn't wanna come back without Phil bc everybody would see him for who he is. Phil made him
I agree with skip. He is the spin master. He truly showed his colors in NY and the ploy he put on Melo to ruin him in NY.
Remember how skip talked about how lebrons owner hated on him seems like the owner gm didn't believe in jordan.
Skip was there in 1998, he saw the Last Dance from the inside out, yet, we didn't see one frame with him in the documentary.
Skip “I was there” Bayless 🤣
2020 Is Different We Got Sports Reporters Sayin “CLOUT” 🤦🏾♂️😂😂😂😭
Crazy , that word has been around before we were alive. Who knew.

funny how skip says he was there for everything yet there isn’t a single frame of him in the entire documentary.
Hes in some of the locker room postgame scenes
