I survived a major arc flash on the 16th of January. Tripped the upstream 400amp breaker.
    Active neutral earth short.
I was wearing gloves, but no glasses... I lost eye sight temporarily

I went back after a coworker of mine and decided to fasten down a simple side panel mounting screw after we were done pulling new cable through. So after we were done and put the side panels back on and energized the breaker, 600 volts by the way. I went to tighten this one last screw down with my screwdriver it blew up on me. Thankfully the panel was closed tight cause I didn't get any burns, no shock no nothing. Just had my PTSD come back for a couple days but I was good.
Never will I again work on anything hot like that, though with my line of work we cant always shut down the panel and have to work with those milwaukee 1000 volt screwdrivers and specially made fish tape for running new lines.

I had a breaker mounting screw rub through the A phase cable and trigger a phase to ground arc flash that jumped over to phase to phase. 480 naturally: BOOM. I'm surprised it didn't blow the variac front panel off onto me.
