via Dave Tate, don’t put your thumb in the loop, just pinch it, then your thumb doesn’t get stuck and turn blue.

Somehow I never realized could just pop the thumb out of that annoying loop after wrapping.
Always did mine high up on the wrist, I just never use the thumb loop. Big difference in support

Nick, why do you go easy with the first wrap? Instead of tightening it from the beginning?
I can smell the comments from the haters…
The wrist wrap works nothing like a belt. The belt does not support by itself, the belt allows you to engage (or whatever the word is) your abdominal muscles better against it (as opposed to against the air). So it is intra-abdominal pressure that provides support, not the belt. In case of wrist wrap, it is the wrap itself that supports.
I don't make mistakes, just happy accidents.
Another thing I do is go below the wrist tightly for deadlifts. I don't like using the straps, I just think it's cheating. I do it just because I want to grip it harder without losing some forearm activation that the straps lessen
And stop wearing wrist wraps altogether before you are pressing three plates.
This guy has the classic build of that dude who used to lift 20 years ago. Somewhat vascular forearms with the rest of the body being built like a ping pong paddle
