So in the video, I do compare the CurlSmith Bonding Oil to the Olaplex Oil. I just want to mention here that the Olaplex oil does contain silicone, while the CurlSmith Oil does not. If you are really avoiding silicones religiously, there is now a new light weight hair oil option for you! bit.ly/curlsmithbondingoil
you're the only one who can truly convince me to buy a new product. we have very different hair types, but you always describe hair products so well and who they'd be best for and it's SO SO HELPFUL
Just used this oil last night by mixing in a few drops with my gel before diffusing, and it truly is lightweight! It's comparable to the olaplex #7 as far as the general "feel" of the oil when emulsified in your hands, but I've noticed with the #7 it can leave a weird residue on my hair, whereas the curlsmith one went on nicer and I didn't feel any residue. I have fine hair that is high porosity for reference ☺
@@kelseyoakes803 No, I use silicones with no issue. Moroccan Oil is my fav oil/serum ever and it has like 3 different 'cones. I believe it's the liquid parrafin that's causing it. That or just the formulation in general. It's not horrific but it's noticeable
Love that shine! As another viewer mentioned, you give thorough yet honest reviews and I trust your opinion. Between you and Mell & Amanda Guido, you all have kept me from going off the deep end buying *all the things* instead of learning what my hair truly needs and only trying those products. This is definitely an exercise in patience and restraint!
I definitely have similar grease issues with my hair so I definitely am intrigued with this oil! Also, I had no clue curlsmith put verses on their products?!? Makes me want to purchase from them now!
I have curly/wavy hair that is very high porosity and tangles terribly. I need a cut badly but with everything else going on, I won’t be able to for another week or so. I ordered this bonding oil ( plus another 4 Curlsmith products) which will arrive Wednesday and I cannot WAIT to try them! Thanks for the great review!!
PSA for any curlies who can't control the frizz... I have struggled with frizz for years and no matter what I did, I couldn't get rid of it or keep the definition in my 2c/3a/3b course, dry hair... I tried using a fine tooth comb to do essentially what the Denman hair brush does and WOW I have ringlets that are totally frizz free. GAME CHANGER. I'm planning to get this oil too as a final nail in my frizz coffin and I'm so excited to finally be enjoying my curls! Advanced warning it takes awhile to do but it's so worth it
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney 😆 It took long enough! I've been curly my whole life and started CG 3 years ago. This week was my first week with out frizz... now onto mastering the refresh so that I can keep them.
I have been so scared to use oil because I have fine hair, too (but high porosity from years of coloring roots). You know what? I'm going to try the CurlSmith bonding oil because I've completely trusted you with your knowledge (and your help for me has been amazing) so I'm thanking you in advance, Courtney! Hugs from Louisiana!!!
Love the results. 👍 My hair is thick wavy and curly mixture. It is also coarse and thick strands. I’ve heard of this oil and going to try it to tame my hair down.😀
I'm back on the texture bandwagon and I'm trying not to touch my drying hair--haha. Your channel has been an excellent source of distraction from the need to hair-touch. Film where you're most comfortable! Thanks for all of the knowledge!
Haha, same. First lesson, I had to learn with the CGM. My chin length, wavy-curly hair does not need or want leave-ins or even deep conditioning, let alone oils. It just gets weighted down and greasy looking.
Omg I have this exact oil and I love it! Though ive only used it three times I like it, I have very dry hair, it absorbed ALLL of it BUT my hair was so shiny and soft after I used it!
I just got this to try. I find it comparable to my Verb Ghost Oil which is the only oil I’ve been able to use on my super fine hair. This is about the same weight wise but I’m curious to see how the extra bonding action goes!!
The only oil I have ever tried is Innate Life rose hair elixir oil. How does this compare to that one? I always feel confident trying a new product after you describe, demonstrate and talk about it.
But what does it smell like? I can handle the smell from the protein and scalp care lines from Curlsmith, but i don't like the moisture line smell. Super excited about this lightweight oil, but scents can be a deal-breaker for me. If only everything was fragrance-free...
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney funny you should say that, today wound up being wash day! T will also be air dry day, since I literally have zero strength left. Autoimmune arthritis is so much fun, no?
I don't know why but I do like this set up better. I like the other as well and you need to be comfortable while pregnant. I really want to try it but must wait for curl warehouse in Canada to get it in as duty fees are not fun. ❤️
Hey Courtney, you're amazing :)) What do I do, if I really want to try this product, but also know that my hair is sensitive to coconut? Do you think there is a risk that this product could make hair, like mine, dry and brittle - usually that is the case for me, if coconut is presented before the 8th ingredient? Best wishes Amalie, who has yet to explore how the different types of coconut oils can varyingly impact the hair - very confusing :D
Inahsi has a new product similar to this. Their Pamper My Curls hair and scalp elixir. It's the only oil I've ever been able to use on my hair as mine is also very fine.
I was just wondering about using this oil as a pre-poo. You put it on the night before, which I would never remember to do. Can you just put it on your hair like 30 minutes before you wash it, or does that not serve any purpose?
I think it would serve a definite purpose to put it on 30 minutes before. It works so well as a detangler for me that that alone would make it worth it.
I wonder if this would work on my 9 year old in the morning. She has the worst time with tangles. I’m afraid all the brushing has stretched out her curl pattern.
I am not loving the orange line right now. My hair feels so dry and rough with the orange line gels. I do use the cowash. My daughters hair loves the orange line though. After spending a few dollars, lol, I have found my hair likes the blue line. My hair is super soft, bouncy curls.
Not sure how I feel about a first impression sponsored video. If you haven’t tried the product before agreeing to the sponsorship I cannot trust that impression. Additionally you never verbally acknowledge that this is a sponsorship until the end of the video when many people have stopped watching. Generally I appreciate your content but would prefer more open acknowledgement of a sponsorship.

I never noticed the verses on the Curlsmith products. I will make a point to look for them from now on! 💛

The weird residue will be the silicone

I had no idea they put Bible verses on their packaging! Very cool. 💜 Thanks for sharing.

What a pretty wash day! BTW this is the review I was waiting for! Thank you!
Have you used the briogeo don’t despair repair oil? If so, how does Curlsmith’s compare?
I picked this up at Ulta yesterday & tried it this morning. I like it, but not sure I like the smell.

I think it's necessary to use real shampoo or clarify at least in occasion with this texture of hair
I was waiting for your review. I wanted to see how it does with Low Porosity hair. Hopefully Ulta will have this on sale during their fall hair event.
Sounds like a great product. I’m hesitant to order it because of the fragrance. How noticeable is the fragrance? Thx!
Good question, I’m always concerned about fragrance myself 😊

I’m all for fragrance free
I’ve been waiting on this video before deciding to buy this.
Thank you for the surprise at the very end. I've just looked up the recipe number for all my Curlsmith products. This has made my day!
I like it - but I can't use very much on my fine hair - it makes it a little oily. I'm sure I will get it!
Mine came in the mail the other day, now I have to get up the energy for wash day so I have a crunch to scrunch out.
I get that! Maybe, consider as a treat for your hair!
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney funny you should say that, today wound up being wash day! T will also be air dry day, since I literally have zero strength left. Autoimmune arthritis is so much fun, no?
The original set up. Because, it’s less echoy.
I'm new to curlsmith. Having a really hard time deciding which line to try first. Help?
I use OXG coconut spray mist which hss no silicones and gives a great shine.

I use this and its lovely-smells great, too ❤️
I would describe my hair the exact way of yours and I'm after using the bonding oil awhile are you still loving it? Thanks!
Ooh just saw this on their site but can’t wait to hear what you have to say! 👏🏻

Have you tried Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Oil? That's my low-porosity hair's favourite oil.
I'm intrigued. I've never used an oil before. And I wonder how it would work when I go on a cruise.

Amanda, you already wrote exactly what I was going to!
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney my pleasure!
Courtney not gonna lie I wouldn't have even noticed the background lol I'm hyperfocused on your hair😁.
I've used it 3 times so far and it seems to break up my curl clumps and makes my hair look stringy.😫🥺
