    Let me add one additional trick with respect to floating selvedge threads: leave one dent empty in the reed between the warp for the actual cloth and the floating selvedge thread on either side. This helps control draw-in.

      @@ActonCreative, I'm working on another piece of summer-and-winter currently. it will be a coverlet, three panels hand-stitched together. I've actually doubled the selvedge threads and the outer two warp threads to level out draw-in. I hope to be done with it by the time you announce the October Weave-Along (rosepath, maybe?) ;)

      What a wonderful idea! I'm going to try that next time I dress a loom. Thanks.

    Thanks you Chris for another inspiring video. I often put your channel on & place my iPad where I can easily hit the backup button when I hear “hey, what did she just say?”, in my head. Love envisioning the next project!

    Absolutely amazing video ~ threading my heddles now for Rosepath. Can I ask they name and type of yarn you have on your shelf behind you the LARGE cones such as the yellow or the burgundy ~ interested in purchasing large cones. Thank you and please keep your wonderful videos coming!!!!

      Thank you so much!! I'm so glad it was helpful! As for the cones, I tend to get quite a few of them through my local weaver's guild sale. So many aren't marked. But they are at least a pound of yarn each, which is great fun!!

      Thank you for your prompt response ~ I have only been able to find 1 pound cones and the ones on your shelf look to be quite a bit larger ~ just wondering who might have the larger cones????

    Hi , this pattern book you are using, by Ann Dixon. Would I be able to use it for a 4 shaft table loom?

    • @ActonCreative
      @ActonCreative  Рік тому +1

      Hi Sharon! Great question! Yes, absolutely!! Everything you can do on a floor loom can be done on a table loom. It's a wonderful book!

    Thank you for your helpful videos. I am struggling with the draft reading on pg.74, in particular the treadling. section. Am I correct in thinking that the top treadling section goes with the first tie-up section, and so on? Thank you so much.

    • @ActonCreative
      @ActonCreative  Рік тому

      Hi Jennifer! Yes! To create the top variation on page 74, you'll use the yellow treadling. However it's a lot of tie-ups! So if you only have 4-6 treadles, I would recommend a direct tie-up approach (1 treadle with 1 shaft) snd then just double-foot it when you need to. I hope that helps!
