probably just the orings on the plunger that get go hard or warn or from dirty old sludgy oil is my diagnosis after seeing that what's inside of them. thanks for showing us what's in there.
No problem, i dont them anyone else has every taken the time to open one up after the engine as failed, plus i wanted to see if there was any damage or not in the pump itself after it eat #5 rod bearing. Glad you liked the video.
LOL, yes i have heard of using heat, and sorry I do not own a impact screwdriver yet. Its a dead/bad pump to me, so saving the screws wasn't an option aka I didn't care so butcher them out, to see whats inside.

Sorry I have scrapped this oil pump. As I did not want to sell someone a pump that had a bunch of metal go through it.
