I put Bahamut it my campaign very briefly for the “Christmas episode”. All the characters were advancing to 6th level, and Bahamut appeared to the Dragonborn in his old man guise to teach him about his developing breath weapon and how to use his barbarian abilities. At the end of the session, when everyone was sitting down and enjoying the “feast of the moon”, they looked up into the sky to see a golden sleigh, pulled by seven golden reindeer, and a kindly old man sitting behind the reins. As they stare in amazement, the sleigh bursts into flames, the reindeers change into golden dragons, and they hear the roaring voice of the old man- now a 55 metre long platinum dragon- shouting “a merry feast to all, and to all a good FIGHT!” Echoing off into the cold winter’s sky as they all fly away. The players still refer to him as “metal Santa Claus”
I wonder how a kobold would react to seeing Bahumat in his true form, they are creations of Tiamat but they probably would never have seen something even close to as majestic as Bahumat, so I imagine a kobold falling to their knees, speechless, and weeping tears of joy at just how majestic the sight in front of them is, like how a person can be moved to tears by a painting or a song.
@@AJPickett If Bahumat radiates light there may also be some blindness, and maybe a faith conversion after witnessing such a thing, I can imagine a clan of kobolds who follow bahumat because their elders who lead the clan witnessed bahumat and were blinded by his majesty.
@@Ahrenji I don't see why not, all the lore of kobolds says is they view dragons like gods, not specifically chromatic dragons, just dragons, and if we're being honest, between tiamat or bahamut, bahamut is the more majestic looking while tiamat is the more intimidating.

A natural 20 is a success no matter what, though. Of course the DM gets to decide what happens in the end, but if you make a nat 20 and the DM doesn't want you to fail this combat absolutely (for the sake of the story), it should do something nice no matter what. If it doesn't hit the enemy, it should at least have an interesting outcome.
He shouldn't even get a save. DM: Bahamut uses his disintegrated breath weapon on you. You are dead. Player: Save? DM: You have been disintegrated, YOU ARE DEAD!!!
Bahamut has always been my go to example of Lawful Good done right. You don't need to be a massive prick to be lawful good. Adhear to a strong sense of honor and justice, lead by example inspire others to do good though your own actions.
I know this is way late. But the "Be good. If not be careful" is exactly what we're told in the military when we go on libo/holiday/leave. It's "Don't do stupid shite and act right. If you're going to do stupid shite and act a fool, then don't get caught." Lord did I have myself some adventures. One involved drinking heavily with a Thai black market weapons dealing group, an RPG7, and a cow.
No that is a horrible way to end any campaign, you are a horrible Dungeon master and must never touch the dice again.... Really though, that is a horrible way to end a campaign. Don't steal victory out from under your friends, but subjecting them to the Platinum Dragon. A good DM knows how to give and take, and you apparently don't understand either.
What would Bahamut think of a party of adventurers who created a gold dragon by manipulating the Weave with ancient Netherese magic to turn an illusory gold dragon into a real, living, breathing one?
Love the ideas for perversions of Bahamuts commandments via zeal and narrow focus. I have a character I've been refining and playing with for my local group that's meant to be a fairly adult golden dragon who, via Bahamuts divine judgement, was stricken down, and stripped of her draconic form and power, and reborn/reformed into a mortal form (a tiefling, we'd all decided on, to put her in a persecuted position in life), with only the fuzziest fragments of memories of her old life, if anything understandable at all. And her only concrete memory was the command of Bahamut to serve his ideals, and learn what it truly means to be a force of good. We had it that she'd let her zeal and focus on Law and Good turn into tyranny and destruction. And some of the fragments of memory she's been getting back have shown some huge focus on specific commandments/ideals, without context or temperance from others. And, as a Paladin, I've been playing her as trying to balance her focus and life according to all the commandments, and living by the spirit of them, not the letter. And definitely struggling a small amount. And I'm so glad hearing you talk about this k8nd of thing, because it's making me know I'm not going WAY out into left field with this stuff. Plus, the fun part of it has been that the main antagonizing force in the campaign has been a cult of Tiamat, trying to bring her into the Material Plane. And our DM has been throwing some hints that the small group of Bahamut priests we've met are very much corrupt in the way of laser focus and zealousness. So it shouuld get pretty interesting.

One great post I wish I had saved from the D&D Forums was the "Gods Of The Mirror-verse." In it Bahamut was a Lawful Evil Iron Dragon, but as a Platinum Dragon he is nearly unique I imagine he would be better as a Lawful Evil Uranium Dragon. In the thread they also detailed the Chaotic Good version of Tiamat The Rainbow Dragon, the Chaotic Good Gruumsh 3 Eye, the Elven God Corellon Larethian leader of the Iron Reich, and so on. I can't be the only one who'd love to hear an Ecology of the Mirror-verse.
The God of Gnomes was not the chipper Carl Glittergold, but the dour humorless "Carl Coaldust." I love that they fleshed it out to the point were Gruumsh 3 Eye tricked Corellon Larethain into striking his forehead to open his third eye. Now I can imagine Loth going from Chaotic Evil to Lawful Good but still keeping the Spider motif as a weaver of order & patterns.
Having played bahumat, the old simply dressed cleric who wield a quarter staff. my take on one of the very important reasons he walks amonst man is to get radicalism out of his clergy. Other than that great vid.
He had a great alias so that no one recognised him. Since one of the names for bahumat is marduk, he went by marv. And while traditionally he is seen as lawful good he tended to act a little chaotic at times to keep an air of mystery. Never the less the dm sweated every session as all he would have to do is polymorph out of my human form and do that one very particular breath weapon. However I was a good sport and refrained from breaking his game.
@@HeadCannon1776 What kinda screwy DM let you play a CR 40+? Having access to all of the platinum Dragons abilities would greatly hinder game play... just seems foolish to me.. The Gods were never meant to be played. Every player who even reaches quasi Deity level, runs the risk of breaking the game. WHen you take away the chance for failure, one man can kill an army.... Let me elaborate. The 5% fumble rate keeps the whole game in check. It's what keeps your 20th level monk from killing all Evil on the Material Plane. He will in fact fumble himself to death before he kills and army of 10,000. be him level 20 or level 50. But a 0 lvl diet removes fumble chance. this minor change to a Characters base quickly causes abnormalities that DM's rarely expect.
I love the description the 3E Manual of the Planes gives for his lair on Celestia. He's basically turned his entire hoard into his lair, with floors of polished mithral, the walls encrusted with the finest gemstones and all that...and interspersed among them are the remains of would-be thieves. Just goes to show that even the Platinum Dragon has a bit of a greedy streak. Thankfully, it's said that Bahamut is willing to part with a portion of his hoard if he knows it is for a good cause (and as a greater deity, he surely knows a good cause when he hears it), and the person who needs his wealth just asks him nicely. Also, was that the Wave Motion Gun from _Space Battleship Yamato_ at 6:49? Yeah, I'd say that's a pretty accurate description.

This is very useful information, because I'm playing a paladin of Bahamut in the Dragon Queen story thing, and I actually don't know a whole lot about Bahamut or what his ideals are, or what he stands for. My DM said that it isn't really all that important for me to know, but I'd like to learn anyway. I'm very new to D&D if you couldn't tell btw.

@@pix00l if I were a betting man, I would put my gold pieces on the side that has 8 ancient and colossal Demigod-type Dragons against the side that has only one. Sure Tiamet has 5 heads but she doesn't have 5 individual bodies to use those heads in a more tactical and effective manner. Not to mention that Bahamut has the ultimate breath weapon which is basically a nuclear strike that disintegrates anything in its path. Who would you wager on and why?
@@pix00l that's a good point. I didn't count them initially since I don't know if they are with Tiamet constantly or not. Let's say we do count them as participants in the battle, then it comes down to 1 each of the 5 colossal chromatic dragons versus 7 colossal gold dragons. I still believe the gold wyrms would have the upper hand.
Neat! The 3rd breath attack pretty much sums up how the gods of D&D are on another level then the PCs. If it were up to me, I would use his ultimate to showcase the raw power of the Dragon God and describe how the display caused the PCs to drop their jaws and freak out in awe and fear like the many characters in One Peace. XD
Thanks, now I know how I can make my overzealous kobold oath of vengeance paladin a follower of bahamut despite being a bit sketchy on his morals. As long as he views them as "for the greater good" and firmly tie it back into one of the 4 tenants of Bahamut it is still good and justified in his religion.

Awesome video! One idea that I think would be cool is like an ecology video on levels. Like where does low level things (like 1to 5) fall in the world and cities and where would level 20 fighters or other classes fall. Does a city like water deep have only one or two lvl 20 wizards in all its realm or squads for Incase a group of high level adventurers get bored and decide to torch the place. It’s an idea that I still really struggle with, how many lvl 20 beings are out there and what do cities do against these things. Any way just a thought, thanks for the amazing content!

Yeah I agree with you there, as I prefer mine to have a semi-long neck with semi-long to long limbs, as it gives them that more feline-like appearance that dragons give off.

Apologies for commenting twice, but this is a beautiful presentation of the only deity - Paladine, on Krynn; Bahamut, in the Forgotten Realms - that has ever resonated with me as a character. Tiamat seems so distant in her battle with Huma and in her subsequent machinations. Paladine, thanks in part to the charm of his aspect Fizban, just seems easier to connect to at a deeper level. Such a great deity.
I had a version of Epic Dragons in my campaigns in the 80s. They were Loom Dragons (my campaign universe was The Loom of Magus). They laid eggs, but an egg hatches only when a Loom Dragon dies. Loom Dragons are born bigger than the largest of any Great Wyrm and born with the wisdom, skill, and intellect of one as well as the innate knowledge of Loom Dragon history. They had age categories. I had a rule that players, without divine ascension, did not face Loom Dragons bigger than a hatchling.
you underestimate your players... as mortals I've seen characters make bluff checks of 120. (lvl 30) And with a bluff of that magnitude, your loom dragons are not likely to even recognize them. Hell only St Cuthbert ever had a chance at seeing through such illusions. (see epic level skills)

Bahamut Vs. Tiamat proxy war? Isn't that the entire Dragonlance cosmology? Also note, Paladine in Dragonlance (who is bahamut) is an "all-father" diety giving him (and Takhisis/Tiamat) the reality bending power of greater dieties (given the ecology of gods, maybe Krynn is how Bahamut gained the power to create dragonborn, and how Tiamat is able to hold her own on the 9 hells?)
He probably would't drink, (lawful Good) and I don't think his voice matters anymore. he can shapeshift to any form. I imagine that would also influence his voice...
Given that I am currently playing around with my story idea surrounding two dragons in an adventuring party, Bahamut is a significant divine figure in the background, with the Silver dragon specifically venerating Xymor (an old name for Bahamut) and the Steel dragon living as a paladin of Bahamut. The only other god specifically worshipped by a team member is Eilistraee, by the team's dedicated cleric.
Or could they change or shift their gender/sex throughout their long lives, kinda like how some species do a form of this even irl with some frogs an fish shifting from female to male to suit the needs at the time (like their is too many of one gender/sex present). So start out female seeking out the older stronger an more powerful male dragons to produce the best young possible, while then at a later stage of life they can shift into being male dragons, and then during the last stages of their life they might just retain which ever gender/sex they prefer. I think too much on this stuff sometimes lol.
Well that is saying that gods would be outside of Evolution, but in some ways how they ascend from the different stages of godhood, you could also say godhood is a part of evolution to a degree. Though gender might serve a different purpose for them, like a form of method for them to attract, empathize with, and endear themselves with their fallows that have genders. Or it might be something just left over as a worthless remnant of something they had once been. All conjecture though.
You did miss Paladine of the Dragonlance setting. One of his primary forms is a platinum dragon. I can understand if you are limiting your scope to Faerun only, but you'll run into a bit an issue if/when you talk about Tiamat, since there is a lot of debate in 2ed books that she is a multi-spheric aspect of Tahkisis.
Quick question. Are the seven old worms of Bahamut- are they simply very old dragons with the same challenge rating you would find in the monster manual, or are they something more? Are they draconic versions of angels or celestials?
It's "wyrms", back from when there were about ten to twelve age categories for dragon. I believe it went like this, from youngest to oldest: Wyrmling > very young > young > young adult > adult > mature > old > very old > ancient > wyrm > great wyrm. For those using the Epic Level Handbook, there was also Great Wyrm+, which would probably be something like Tiamat's oldest consorts.

Actually think it would be more interesting to see a campaign that had the players, maybe even afew that might have been fallowers of both Bahamut an Tiamt, but began to have doubts or fallen out of favor. Maybe in the setting the two Dragon-gods normally fight more covertly, but now Bahamut has gone more on the direct open offense to get rid of Tiamat. Then maybe it is revealed something has changed in Bahamut his very demeanor is changing, and he is revealed to be attempting not merely to defeat Tiamat, but to take her place in the hells.

Dragonborn of Bahamut are basically Super Fans of Bahamut and went through a ritual to be changed by him into Dragonborn to be his champion/emissary and go fight minions of Tiamat. That’s all they care about is doing Bahamut’s will and fighting Tiamat. Nothing else. No time to be lazy, gotta fight evil. They’re sterile tho so no babies
Well could it be that Io is his own over-deity like how Ao and Thoom are/could be over-deities, which could be why the dragon-gods/deities did not fall during the time of troubles as they fall under another over-deity's purview, while also haing quite an interesting implication in the cosmic setting of D&D like in spelljammer . It would be interesting if there were one Over-deity for each of the main alignments. Such Ao might be order specifically (though disregarding good or evil), Io might be neutral largely or more specifically a over-deity of balance, Thoom might be chaos actually, which would leave merely a over-deity of good an evil. though maybe since good and evil are more of perspectives than absolutes like how oder an chais are, they might not have an associated over-deity. Playing a adventure or in a setting in which either Bahamut is in a corrupted state, his view of order an justice being twisted, while maybe Tiamate is battling against him could be interesting. Or the party is dealing with a campaign that had a dark mirror of Bahumat, that might be split off from him, or maybe was a rival (brother) of his seeking to usurp Tiamate, and she seeks out aid from Bahamut (in some lore they were said to have been lovers/mated pair) to retain her portfolio. Could be even interesting with the group being part of Bahamut's faith finding that the faith is being splintered by Bahamut an this Dark twin of his as the begining of the adventure, and then shifting as a priest/dragon aligned with Tiamate comes to one of the temple's of Bahamut to seek aid actually from his own fallowers an the deity.
Happy to hear it. I always like to drop concepts, and ideas that others might enjoy, or develop from. My groups I dm with, as well as have connections with have a book that we fill with stray ideas or concept for adventures. That way even if the person that came up with the idea does not use it, someone else could make use of it, or even several people could.
Another interesting idea, which could be fun to do is as fallows. Maybe create an actual Hydra villain in a setting that has thru some method, such as aligning him/her-self with Tiamate, is ascending to to god-hood with many forms of Hydras as their primary fallowers. Could even be a spawn of Tiamate as she does have somewhat a Hydra like appearance to her, and now Bahamut is needing to find a way of curbing the Hydra;s ascension prior to being overwhelmed by the imbalance created via the arrival of the new power that is aligned with Tiamate (could run it that this Hydra god once it ascends it turns on Tiamate even.).
AJ Pickett that's true. I liked it though because it explains why Io isn't really seen or heard of, at least in 5e. I also enjoyed the idea that Bahamut and Tiamat were 2 halves of the same whole.
I could see it more that Io might have battled with the primordials, and while doing so the attacks might have ripped some of his scales off his body (maybe with some of his body an other organs), which would become aspects of the Dragon gods (maybe even the core of each of the primary dragon-god's core).
Good but you only mentioned Wisdom once? Wisdom is OVER the 4 Tenants with Bahamut. Without wisdom, the 4 become evil. Magic and Psionics should also have been included HEAVILY. It always amazes me how the evil side is more detailed. Bahamuts magic and mind should rival the greatest sorcerers and sages EVER. His 7 Gold Dragons likewise.... a separate video could be done on each of them. But great video for 16 minutes.
I would like to see a video on Bahamut with WAY less politics on wayward cults of him. More positive instead of negative. All those portfolios need some attention. What would Bahamut do uniquely with those portfolios to his followers to combat evil and darkness? Maybe unique spells, mage and cleric? Undead turning? I would think armor of a Paladin of Bahamut would be impressive stuff. What powers of a High Priest of Bahamut be known for?
That is perfect, and I could see each of the FF7 summon versions being different avatars of Bahamut. Like depending on the status, actions,a nd power of someone he might send in a different avatar. I mean how awe inspiring would it be for those in the setting of D&D to see any of the ff-Bahamut designs really. I actually have been wanting to figure out a way of implementing the materia, and specifically the summon system from the FF-seven setting into a D&D setting. Like magic in the form of mages an the weave has maybe long since vanished/broken down, but the Fae/Ley energy that made up the weave which magic-users used to create spells via the weave has long since crystallized into the materia gems/crystals/orbs. Though even the idea of a materia-user that can conjure the spiritual form of a magical creature that either was trapped into a crystal (ala Pokemon lol), or maybe just that some magical creatures upon death either turn into crystals, or have a crystalline orb that is the source of their ability to use magic innately an control them thru it for a period of time.
I know Bahamut more from the Final Fantasy games than Dungeons and Dragons. It's interesting to see the origins of the character and clues in how much the series was based on D&D
Bahamut wasn't even a dragon originally. He was originally thought of in medieval Islamic lore as a sea monster (gigantic fish, whale or sea serpent) that held up an ox who held up an angel who held up the world. A closer interpretation of Bahamut's fish version is in the video game La Mulana.
Could you do the Dragonlance version as a compair and contrast? As much as the devs want them to be the same they could not be more different. The only simerlerity that I can see is that they are both Platinum Dragons. Is that the only reason they want those two to be the same? Great video by the way.

Bahamut has always been my go to example of Lawful Good done right. You don't need to be a massive prick to be lawful good. Adhear to a strong sense of honor and justice, lead by example inspire others to do good though your own actions.
I know this is way late. But the "Be good. If not be careful" is exactly what we're told in the military when we go on libo/holiday/leave. It's "Don't do stupid shite and act right. If you're going to do stupid shite and act a fool, then don't get caught." Lord did I have myself some adventures. One involved drinking heavily with a Thai black market weapons dealing group, an RPG7, and a cow.
Bahamut's breath weapon is a great way to end an evil campaign. Hahaha. The last thing the city sees is a platinum dragon above it.
No that is a horrible way to end any campaign, you are a horrible Dungeon master and must never touch the dice again.... Really though, that is a horrible way to end a campaign. Don't steal victory out from under your friends, but subjecting them to the Platinum Dragon. A good DM knows how to give and take, and you apparently don't understand either.

Love the ideas for perversions of Bahamuts commandments via zeal and narrow focus. I have a character I've been refining and playing with for my local group that's meant to be a fairly adult golden dragon who, via Bahamuts divine judgement, was stricken down, and stripped of her draconic form and power, and reborn/reformed into a mortal form (a tiefling, we'd all decided on, to put her in a persecuted position in life), with only the fuzziest fragments of memories of her old life, if anything understandable at all. And her only concrete memory was the command of Bahamut to serve his ideals, and learn what it truly means to be a force of good.
We had it that she'd let her zeal and focus on Law and Good turn into tyranny and destruction. And some of the fragments of memory she's been getting back have shown some huge focus on specific commandments/ideals, without context or temperance from others. And, as a Paladin, I've been playing her as trying to balance her focus and life according to all the commandments, and living by the spirit of them, not the letter. And definitely struggling a small amount. And I'm so glad hearing you talk about this k8nd of thing, because it's making me know I'm not going WAY out into left field with this stuff.
Plus, the fun part of it has been that the main antagonizing force in the campaign has been a cult of Tiamat, trying to bring her into the Material Plane. And our DM has been throwing some hints that the small group of Bahamut priests we've met are very much corrupt in the way of laser focus and zealousness. So it shouuld get pretty interesting.

One great post I wish I had saved from the D&D Forums was the "Gods Of The Mirror-verse." In it Bahamut was a Lawful Evil Iron Dragon, but as a Platinum Dragon he is nearly unique I imagine he would be better as a Lawful Evil Uranium Dragon.
In the thread they also detailed the Chaotic Good version of Tiamat The Rainbow Dragon, the Chaotic Good Gruumsh 3 Eye, the Elven God Corellon Larethian leader of the Iron Reich, and so on.

The God of Gnomes was not the chipper Carl Glittergold, but the dour humorless "Carl Coaldust." I love that they fleshed it out to the point were Gruumsh 3 Eye tricked Corellon Larethain into striking his forehead to open his third eye. Now I can imagine Loth going from Chaotic Evil to Lawful Good but still keeping the Spider motif as a weaver of order & patterns.
Having played bahumat, the old simply dressed cleric who wield a quarter staff. my take on one of the very important reasons he walks amonst man is to get radicalism out of his clergy. Other than that great vid.

He had a great alias so that no one recognised him. Since one of the names for bahumat is marduk, he went by marv. And while traditionally he is seen as lawful good he tended to act a little chaotic at times to keep an air of mystery. Never the less the dm sweated every session as all he would have to do is polymorph out of my human form and do that one very particular breath weapon. However I was a good sport and refrained from breaking his game.
@@HeadCannon1776 What kinda screwy DM let you play a CR 40+? Having access to all of the platinum Dragons abilities would greatly hinder game play... just seems foolish to me.. The Gods were never meant to be played. Every player who even reaches quasi Deity level, runs the risk of breaking the game. WHen you take away the chance for failure, one man can kill an army.... Let me elaborate. The 5% fumble rate keeps the whole game in check. It's what keeps your 20th level monk from killing all Evil on the Material Plane. He will in fact fumble himself to death before he kills and army of 10,000. be him level 20 or level 50. But a 0 lvl diet removes fumble chance. this minor change to a Characters base quickly causes abnormalities that DM's rarely expect.

I love the description the 3E Manual of the Planes gives for his lair on Celestia. He's basically turned his entire hoard into his lair, with floors of polished mithral, the walls encrusted with the finest gemstones and all that...and interspersed among them are the remains of would-be thieves. Just goes to show that even the Platinum Dragon has a bit of a greedy streak.
Thankfully, it's said that Bahamut is willing to part with a portion of his hoard if he knows it is for a good cause (and as a greater deity, he surely knows a good cause when he hears it), and the person who needs his wealth just asks him nicely.

This is very useful information, because I'm playing a paladin of Bahamut in the Dragon Queen story thing, and I actually don't know a whole lot about Bahamut or what his ideals are, or what he stands for. My DM said that it isn't really all that important for me to know, but I'd like to learn anyway.

Sure Tiamet has 5 heads but she doesn't have 5 individual bodies to use those heads in a more tactical and effective manner. Not to mention that Bahamut has the ultimate breath weapon which is basically a nuclear strike that disintegrates anything in its path. Who would you wager on and why?

Let's say we do count them as participants in the battle, then it comes down to 1 each of the 5 colossal chromatic dragons versus 7 colossal gold dragons. I still believe the gold wyrms would have the upper hand.

AJ, man, I don't know if you were trying to be really funny but the deadpan serious way you go through your videos made the juxtaposition of you introducing a video of what looks like the Kamehameha wave blowing up a floating island made me lose it. I just died laughing. It's probably due to the fact that you mostly just describe what creatures do and the clinical, dispassionate way you deliver your videos next to something so visually extreme that makes it so damn funny. Awesome video! One idea that I think would be cool is like an ecology video on levels. Like where does low level things (like 1to 5) fall in the world and cities and where would level 20 fighters or other classes fall. Does a city like water deep have only one or two lvl 20 wizards in all its realm or squads for Incase a group of high level adventurers get bored and decide to torch the place. It’s an idea that I still really struggle with, how many lvl 20 beings are out there and what do cities do against these things. Any way just a thought, thanks for the amazing content!

Apologies for commenting twice, but this is a beautiful presentation of the only deity - Paladine, on Krynn; Bahamut, in the Forgotten Realms - that has ever resonated with me as a character. Tiamat seems so distant in her battle with Huma and in her subsequent machinations. Paladine, thanks in part to the charm of his aspect Fizban, just seems easier to connect to at a deeper level. Such a great deity.

I had a version of Epic Dragons in my campaigns in the 80s. They were Loom Dragons (my campaign universe was The Loom of Magus). They laid eggs, but an egg hatches only when a Loom Dragon dies. Loom Dragons are born bigger than the largest of any Great Wyrm and born with the wisdom, skill, and intellect of one as well as the innate knowledge of Loom Dragon history. They had age categories. I had a rule that players, without divine ascension, did not face Loom Dragons bigger than a hatchling.
you underestimate your players... as mortals I've seen characters make bluff checks of 120. (lvl 30) And with a bluff of that magnitude, your loom dragons are not likely to even recognize them. Hell only St Cuthbert ever had a chance at seeing through such illusions. (see epic level skills)

Bahamut Vs. Tiamat proxy war? Isn't that the entire Dragonlance cosmology?
Also note, Paladine in Dragonlance (who is bahamut) is an "all-father" diety giving him (and Takhisis/Tiamat) the reality bending power of greater dieties (given the ecology of gods, maybe Krynn is how Bahamut gained the power to create dragonborn, and how Tiamat is able to hold her own on the 9 hells?)

He probably would't drink, (lawful Good) and I don't think his voice matters anymore. he can shapeshift to any form. I imagine that would also influence his voice...
Given that I am currently playing around with my story idea surrounding two dragons in an adventuring party, Bahamut is a significant divine figure in the background, with the Silver dragon specifically venerating Xymor (an old name for Bahamut) and the Steel dragon living as a paladin of Bahamut. The only other god specifically worshipped by a team member is Eilistraee, by the team's dedicated cleric.

Or could they change or shift their gender/sex throughout their long lives, kinda like how some species do a form of this even irl with some frogs an fish shifting from female to male to suit the needs at the time (like their is too many of one gender/sex present). So start out female seeking out the older stronger an more powerful male dragons to produce the best young possible, while then at a later stage of life they can shift into being male dragons, and then during the last stages of their life they might just retain which ever gender/sex they prefer. I think too much on this stuff sometimes lol.
Gender has an evolutionary purpose, so it makes little sense for gods to have them.
Well that is saying that gods would be outside of Evolution, but in some ways how they ascend from the different stages of godhood, you could also say godhood is a part of evolution to a degree. Though gender might serve a different purpose for them, like a form of method for them to attract, empathize with, and endear themselves with their fallows that have genders. Or it might be something just left over as a worthless remnant of something they had once been. All conjecture though.
You did miss Paladine of the Dragonlance setting. One of his primary forms is a platinum dragon. I can understand if you are limiting your scope to Faerun only, but you'll run into a bit an issue if/when you talk about Tiamat, since there is a lot of debate in 2ed books that she is a multi-spheric aspect of Tahkisis.

Quick question. Are the seven old worms of Bahamut- are they simply very old dragons with the same challenge rating you would find in the monster manual, or are they something more? Are they draconic versions of angels or celestials?
Just very old dragons.
It's "wyrms", back from when there were about ten to twelve age categories for dragon. I believe it went like this, from youngest to oldest:
Wyrmling > very young > young > young adult > adult > mature > old > very old > ancient > wyrm > great wyrm. For those using the Epic Level Handbook, there was also Great Wyrm+, which would probably be something like Tiamat's oldest consorts.

Actually think it would be more interesting to see a campaign that had the players, maybe even afew that might have been fallowers of both Bahamut an Tiamt, but began to have doubts or fallen out of favor. Maybe in the setting the two Dragon-gods normally fight more covertly, but now Bahamut has gone more on the direct open offense to get rid of Tiamat. Then maybe it is revealed something has changed in Bahamut his very demeanor is changing, and he is revealed to be attempting not merely to defeat Tiamat, but to take her place in the hells.

Dragonborn of Bahamut are basically Super Fans of Bahamut and went through a ritual to be changed by him into Dragonborn to be his champion/emissary and go fight minions of Tiamat. That’s all they care about is doing Bahamut’s will and fighting Tiamat. Nothing else. No time to be lazy, gotta fight evil. They’re sterile tho so no babies

Well could it be that Io is his own over-deity like how Ao and Thoom are/could be over-deities, which could be why the dragon-gods/deities did not fall during the time of troubles as they fall under another over-deity's purview, while also haing quite an interesting implication in the cosmic setting of D&D like in spelljammer . It would be interesting if there were one Over-deity for each of the main alignments. Such Ao might be order specifically (though disregarding good or evil), Io might be neutral largely or more specifically a over-deity of balance, Thoom might be chaos actually, which would leave merely a over-deity of good an evil. though maybe since good and evil are more of perspectives than absolutes like how oder an chais are, they might not have an associated over-deity.
Playing a adventure or in a setting in which either Bahamut is in a corrupted state, his view of order an justice being twisted, while maybe Tiamate is battling against him could be interesting. Or the party is dealing with a campaign that had a dark mirror of Bahumat, that might be split off from him, or maybe was a rival (brother) of his seeking to usurp Tiamate, and she seeks out aid from Bahamut (in some lore they were said to have been lovers/mated pair) to retain her portfolio. Could be even interesting with the group being part of Bahamut's faith finding that the faith is being splintered by Bahamut an this Dark twin of his as the begining of the adventure, and then shifting as a priest/dragon aligned with Tiamate comes to one of the temple's of Bahamut to seek aid actually from his own fallowers an the deity.
Imagine if you will, a Dark Bahamut..

Happy to hear it. I always like to drop concepts, and ideas that others might enjoy, or develop from. My groups I dm with, as well as have connections with have a book that we fill with stray ideas or concept for adventures. That way even if the person that came up with the idea does not use it, someone else could make use of it, or even several people could.
Another interesting idea, which could be fun to do is as fallows. Maybe create an actual Hydra villain in a setting that has thru some method, such as aligning him/her-self with Tiamate, is ascending to to god-hood with many forms of Hydras as their primary fallowers. Could even be a spawn of Tiamate as she does have somewhat a Hydra like appearance to her, and now Bahamut is needing to find a way of curbing the Hydra;s ascension prior to being overwhelmed by the imbalance created via the arrival of the new power that is aligned with Tiamate (could run it that this Hydra god once it ascends it turns on Tiamate even.).

That is one legend yes, but it fails to account for the origin of the rest of the Dragon pantheon, or the two other platinum dragons.
AJ Pickett that's true. I liked it though because it explains why Io isn't really seen or heard of, at least in 5e. I also enjoyed the idea that Bahamut and Tiamat were 2 halves of the same whole.
I could see it more that Io might have battled with the primordials, and while doing so the attacks might have ripped some of his scales off his body (maybe with some of his body an other organs), which would become aspects of the Dragon gods (maybe even the core of each of the primary dragon-god's core).

Good but you only mentioned Wisdom once? Wisdom is OVER the 4 Tenants with Bahamut. Without wisdom, the 4 become evil. Magic and Psionics should also have been included HEAVILY. It always amazes me how the evil side is more detailed. Bahamuts magic and mind should rival the greatest sorcerers and sages EVER. His 7 Gold Dragons likewise.... a separate video could be done on each of them. But great video for 16 minutes.

All those portfolios need some attention. What would Bahamut do uniquely with those portfolios to his followers to combat evil and darkness? Maybe unique spells, mage and cleric? Undead turning? I would think armor of a Paladin of Bahamut would be impressive stuff. What powers of a High Priest of Bahamut be known for?

That is perfect, and I could see each of the FF7 summon versions being different avatars of Bahamut. Like depending on the status, actions,a nd power of someone he might send in a different avatar. I mean how awe inspiring would it be for those in the setting of D&D to see any of the ff-Bahamut designs really.
I actually have been wanting to figure out a way of implementing the materia, and specifically the summon system from the FF-seven setting into a D&D setting. Like magic in the form of mages an the weave has maybe long since vanished/broken down, but the Fae/Ley energy that made up the weave which magic-users used to create spells via the weave has long since crystallized into the materia gems/crystals/orbs. Though even the idea of a materia-user that can conjure the spiritual form of a magical creature that either was trapped into a crystal (ala Pokemon lol), or maybe just that some magical creatures upon death either turn into crystals, or have a crystalline orb that is the source of their ability to use magic innately an control them thru it for a period of time.
I know Bahamut more from the Final Fantasy games than Dungeons and Dragons. It's interesting to see the origins of the character and clues in how much the series was based on D&D
Bahamut wasn't even a dragon originally. He was originally thought of in medieval Islamic lore as a sea monster (gigantic fish, whale or sea serpent) that held up an ox who held up an angel who held up the world. A closer interpretation of Bahamut's fish version is in the video game La Mulana.

Could you do the Dragonlance version as a compair and contrast? As much as the devs want them to be the same they could not be more different. The only simerlerity that I can see is that they are both Platinum Dragons. Is that the only reason they want those two to be the same? Great video by the way.
