👑🎼This is my uncle The Great Herman Parker, May your soul Rest In Power, and May you music and sounds live in the ears and minds of 👑🎼those forever. OneLove 🖤my uncle from your nephew, because you will always be in my blood 💯
i own proudly all his lp!!!gone too soon!!.He will stay in my heart till i close my eyes!i think he was junior Wells's uncle too.God bless them all.So soulful people!
We in Houston are so proud of Junior because of his longtime association with our own Duke and Peacock Records. He is remembered fondly by our vibrant blues community, and always will be cherished.
I was a Chicago blues fan back to when I was 13. In 1972, when I was 17 I found Junior's Next Time You See Me 78 rpm in a junk shop. Grabbed it and my respect for him grew and grew. Being a fan of Muddy Waters, Junior Wells and Magic Sam, I never realized his genius until about 20 years ago. Oh, I liked him and all but finally realized how brilliant his music really was. He rates at the very top among all recorded vocalists. Thanks for posting this! great album!
He really was right up there with Bobby Bland in terms of a smooth voice. His Sweet Home Chicago is my favorite version of all time. I like his old Duke Records best. They just have a very authentic funky feel. You can't argue with how high quality this recording here is though. And , although most of these songs were originally recorded by other artists, his versions are very good. How could they not be with that killer voice and classy band arrangements?
This album was my first exposure to LJP. This was back in the mid 70's and I was a teenager heavily into blues. I later discovered his earlier work. Just one of the best blues voices ever!

Thanks so much for the tracklist. Buying it : Pretty sure you'd just be giving record companies the money at this point?? (Estate may say different) - save the pennies to buy from great living artists, keep them going.
@@gnuPirate I bought it used. I don't have anything in particular against record companies, but the shape the world is in, with a handful of bankers and CEOs running things and living like kings while billions of people live in poverty, war and oppression is too much. The U.S. economy is tied to war, how much more destructive can a system be? The people everywhere need to rise up and demand to live well. I know this isn't the answer you expected, but I have had it with this nonsense. The results are terrible. We need a government of the people, by the people, for the people.
thank you for posting my hands down favorite jr. parker album. i bought this out of the alligator record store in 1975 in chicago. now i can just punch it up on yt...

When I was a little girl, this man's voice soothed me. Now, when I hear his voice, I feel at right at home.
Thank you for such a lovely comment. It makes our day shine if we made your day a little brighter!
