      ScottHermanFitness awesome video bro, and thanks for the reply I appreciate it, I've been using your cheat and recover and seeing good gains from it! you've got the best content on UA-cam dude!
      one question though, if I do hiit on the treadmill for 15-20 mins in the am, and weights in the evening at least 8 hours later will it hurt my gains?

      +Methods of Greatness Your UA-cam page says life is short and to smile while you can.. I think you should take some of your own advice, bro. I'm here giving people advice to help them reach their goals, and STOP them from injuring themselves by following so much of the other BS information that is being spread around the internet by fake nattys who couldn't care less about their fans. Using crap form might not injure you now.. but the day you go a little to heavy, or decide to use proper form, and end up in the position you have never trained in, is the day you will get injured. I said that in the video, if you happened to watch it.
      I don't remember referring to myself as the be all and end all of fitness information, but I do remember saying I would always do my best to give you all quality information designed to HELP. So how about next time you think before you leave an ignorant comment, and say thanks for the effort I put in.

  • @johanhansson4574
    @johanhansson4574 7 років тому +12

    Actuallly going down to deep is stretching out your shoulder capsule like madness, that is not good for shoulder stability. Youre pulling hard on your biceps tendon on the labrum and grindig it hard at the turn on the humeral head as it goes in and out of the bicipital groove. The angle makes this turn extremely sharp. And the deep position can even lead to impingement at the rear supraspinatus tendon and infraspinaus tendon. Youre crashing those tendons into the acromion/spine of the scap transition. The transition is like a big V dagger. You can feel that with youre finger if you follow the acromion back till it turns and becomes the spine of the scap. And then understand that you smashing those already damaged tendons from all youre other "full range of motion" BB stuff into that. Happy full range of motion dipping......

    • @johanhansson4574
      @johanhansson4574 7 років тому

      And if you think you need full range to build muscle...let me present the deadlift. The range of motion on your spinal erectors is zero, zipp, null, nada.......You do what is safe and that is keep your spine fixed the entire exercise. The erectors only doing static work, zero range of motion....and it builds massiv spinal erectors....Same goes for dips, safe range of motion, pounding on weights as you progress. That will build huge triceps.

    • @ScottHermanFitness
      @ScottHermanFitness  7 років тому +9

      +Johan Hansson actually. There is no reason why you cant do full range of motion on a dip and comparing a dip to a deadlift is juat ridiculous dude. Just drop the ego and do dips the right way.

    • @johanhansson4574
      @johanhansson4574 7 років тому +5

      The reason not to do it is that the reward is nothing compared to the potential danger as I described above. It doesnt matter how much you warm up. The stuff i tried to tell you above has nothing to do with synovial fluids. The comparison with deadlift is that you dont need full range of motion to build muscle. That is a BB myth. Thats why I talked about the DL. But keep doing that shit. It will cach up with you in your 40s. I listen to that shit when i was in your age and I have to pay for it now. I tell you again. Capsule stretching, bicepstendon attachment strain and grinding on humerus, impingement of supra and infraspinatus.

    • @MichaelSmith-gd4gv
      @MichaelSmith-gd4gv 7 років тому +1

      Johan Hansson
      What do you thing of the locking out advice? For both this and other exercises, people always seem to recommend it lately, but the consensus used to be that it's dangerous.

    • @johanhansson4574
      @johanhansson4574 7 років тому +1

      Its only dangerous if you have those elbow joints that go into hyperextension. I actually cant fully straighten my arms so I get a realy good peak contraction there. Those double jointed persons should be realy careful though. With that said you shouldn try to force the joint further than it naturaly can go. Peak contraction doesnt mean trying to push beyond that.

    I always see people trying to push the reps of dips and forget about that the quality is the most important thing. For example not using full range motion or their lower body shake like crazy to help the momentum, in the end they are just meaningless number, quality is the best! Very good video introducing and teaching dips...

    Scott said we should keep our waist straight to prevent waist pain. What about the part on the hands behind the thumbs? That hurt like hell when I let my weight get onto that part during my dips

    Hey Scott just wanted to let you know i'm down around 25 kg (a bit more than 50 lbs), thanks to you (not soley though :p). been loving the channel and the tips, its stupid but the way you said "losing weight comes down to calories in vs calories out" that stuck with me and really helped me man ! I can now do chin-ups, dips and all other things i was never able to do before. So thanks man !

    Nice! It's like when people start their car and try to floor it and up their revs before the oil gets to operating temperature and can make its way through the engine and lubricate the parts it needs to. So you have metal grinding against metal and it is the quickest way to put wear and damage on your engine.

    Hey Scott thanks for the video.. please clarify one thing also.. what's the best time to this exercise.. everyday after or before weight training??

  • @Bowfella
    @Bowfella 6 років тому

    Shoulder breakers, band facepulls, are all great warmups for healthy shoulders. I believe it's good to warmup with one antagonistic movement, Ie: On chest day you warm up with rows, with shoulder press you can warm up/superset with pullups. Not only did this fix any shoulder pain I had and make my pushing movements a breeze, but it also fixes posture and builds your back (since you're training back more frequently).
