Hi Carl so happy to see you regularly uploading I'm 26 based in Hertfordshire. Took up angling last year and not caught a carp yet, just one jack pike a few lb. Love watching your videos just as much as I do fishing itself. Please don't ever stop the channel bro your an inspiration, the videos are more then just a video, they help me through the bad times Nd gives me something to look forward too. Big respect to you and Alex.
Ahh that's amazing. Thanks so much Josh :) Appreciate it. That's amazing to hear. Glad you're loving it! All the best to you mate, and good luck with your fishing, keep at it!
Hello bro I'm also located in Hertfordshire, I would highly recommend manor farm fisheries, the have multiple Lakes on the complex, as you said your relatively new I would highly recommend becks lake or damsel, heavily stocked with carp to 30. Have done many 60hour sessions there even, worth having a Google :)
Returning to angling for the first time since I was a little un. Caught my first mirror last week, I can't tell you how grateful I am for your videos, they've really helped me. Thanks so much.
I love the rawness of your fshing. It really makes it easier for the beginner to follow. I've been fishing for longer than you have been around both myself and brother yet I still consider your tutorials fantastic info. Keep it up. Your and your bruv's channels are perfect for all.
How good is it to see your friend Ryan been so positive and helpful with your channel(business) instead of been all jealous etc like most friends generally seem to get when you have any success. Quality pal
The Gypsy King is right (and a genuine guy): Ryan is a good mate and hopefully is positive with your metal health. Love the videos and keep up the good work.
Yes fishing for winter carp is very rewarding but only problem is cold temperature. My hands literaly freeze after 2h of pole fishing for roach. Tight lines!
As a young angler you inspire me with every single video. Even in South Africa your advice helps a hole lot. Keep up the good work, you are inspiring people all around the world !
Great video Carl as always. I have watched all of your videos over the years and have now ordered a copy of your fishing book to go on my shelf with my other fishing books. Chris Yates, Kevin Maddocks and now Carl Smith joins the fishing shelf. Thanks for all that you do and keep up the amazing work. Tight lines mate :)
Nice one mate...Just a quick question for winter fishing..there is quite lot of splashing around in my usual spot (where i fish) but the fish are'nt biting. Any suggestion from your end on the feeding time.
Could you please tell us about some possible lakes in the UK that you would recommend? I've been carp fishing for about a year now at my local lake and I don't know where to go just to catch a fish, as I've never caught one.
Many years ago it was very cold in winter, but I wanted to fish. It was so cold half the lake was frozen 😫. My first carp caught was a lovely common I was so surprised how hard it fought. I was very quick landing, unhooking, and getting ready to return the fish( it was 18lb something) I don't take pictures of fish under 20lb now I've had my fair share of doubles. When Reviving the common it wasn't doing so well, I tried and tried to the point my hands were about to drop of frozen, the fish didn't make it. It was the first fish that died on me in all the years I've been fishing, I was gutted I felt sick, what a horrible feeling. I buried the fish and later rang the bailiff telling him where the fish was so they could check it out, you never know it could be something else. I was still in shock and ran back though what happened, I knew I'd done nothing wrong it was the fishes time, old timer, or sick. It took me ages to get my mo-jo back, what it did do, it changed my procedure fishing in winter, once I have caught the fish and have it in the landing net if the fish shows any sign of being to tired I unhook it in the landing net, i revive it there and let the fish go. Winter fishing is hard and you do need to change a few things.
Ryan looks like and has a similar personality to my friend matt.. though he don't go fishing. Now Alex has gone, should definitely get Ryan out more on your vids 👍
I just started using solid PVA bags with bread crumbs in them, but it always floats on top no matter how many holes I poke in it. is it ok if it floats as long as the bait gets down there eventually? ( I am using a 1-ounce lead by the way.)
Hi William, I tend to use pellet which I find decent, also I sometimes use crushed boilies :) If you want to keep using bread however, you could try using a slightly larger lead. hope that helps. Let me know how you do :)
@@fishingtutorials ok thanks. it is kind of hard for me to find pellets and boilies. I'm in the US so I tend to go for baits that I can get easily. but yeah I will try that!
I’m not going to get round to sorting out a summer carping video this year I’m afraid! I’ve had too much other stuff on. I’ll try and cover it next year :)
It's doing doing ok! Because we had A LOT of rain last year the water level stayed high so there was no oxygen crash. Fingers crossed for no drought this year, will be keeping an eye on it. The dam is still not fixed though, hopefully one day :)
Thank you! I use Photoshop to 'cut' me out with the 'polygonal lasso tool' and then blur the background on a separate layer, then add the text :) - there are YT tutorials for this. But if you haven't got access to photoshop yet, try a free/cheap image manipulator app or program. I used to use Gimp :)

Nice video Carl and lots of good information as usual. Looked a beautiful location. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Trevor :)
Amazing video - Please could you show us the stem you have on the lead? I like how far it sticks up out of the PVA Bag.
Hi Harrison! That is a Korda 'Solid Bag Tail Rubber' they push over an inline lead stem and make it easy to make bags around! :)
@@fishingtutorialsBrilliant, thanks :) appreciate the reply.
You're welcome, good luck with it!
You will love south african waters mate❤😏
i literaly just went fishing yesterday and caught a tench and 3 huge carp. so helpful thanks!

Good to see you both on this video, more of a silver fish in winter kind of guy. Give or take the odd carp.

Good idea, cheers Kevin :) I'll look into it
Good video mate nice shots 📸
Cheers Dan!
Great vid as usual!
Glad you enjoyed!!
Good fishing Pakistan Jhelum river fish name gulfam beautiful and nice taste
Brilliant as always
I am getting a size 4000 reel for carp fishing do you think 12lb mono be best or 15 lb for overall carp?
I reckon 12lb will be a perfect choice, unless your fishing somewhere with lots of weed and snags, then 15lb will be better.
Ryan looks like and has a similar personality to my friend matt.. though he don't go fishing. Now Alex has gone, should definitely get Ryan out more on your vids 👍
Ryan will be joining me soon in Belgium in early May actually!
In winter it’s all about the bites, size doesn’t matter. Keep warm, have fun and pick the right venue. You’ll have an awesome day out guaranteed!
So true! :)
Can not wait till I go fishing next

I'd like to see you come to the ponds I fish and do this
those "maggots" are the worm of what insect?

There baby flies
@@callumgrieve5610 there are many type of flies, so it is why i am asking.
Bluebottles I believe.
Nice one lads 👊🏻
Thanks! :)
Yo, any chance of a video to give us tips of how to fish as the summer ends before winter approaches?
I’m not going to get round to sorting out a summer carping video this year I’m afraid! I’ve had too much other stuff on.
I’ll try and cover it next year :)
Carl what is the update on the park lake
It's doing doing ok! Because we had A LOT of rain last year the water level stayed high so there was no oxygen crash. Fingers crossed for no drought this year, will be keeping an eye on it. The dam is still not fixed though, hopefully one day :)
Holding the rod instead of putting it down really helps year round.then you don't even need a goofy bite detector
Thanks for the video and tips🔥! Gonna start carp fishing this year, hoping i can break my pb :P
@Meskutis gonna wait for carp fishing videos
You're welcome :) Good luck!!!
Hi can i buy an all natural Carl and Alex wood table?😁

I am always wondering how are you casting so accurate? U should do a video about good casting technique and how to cast more accurate. Nice video tho🔥
Here's one about casting accurately we made a while ago! Hope it helps :) ua-cam.com/video/wtc_oa77aFM/v-deo.html
