I did Blencathea years ago, starting from near the White Horse pub. Steepest start to a walk I've ever done. It was so windy, I went across Sharp Edge on my a**e!
Nice one Dave, lovely to see the snow for the first time this year. You say you go slow but it seems you crack on at a lively pace to me. Definitely a day of solitude too, once off Blencathra you had the fells to yourself. Regards, Ashley
Aye it was a flash in the pan as I checked the blencathra webcam the next day and the snow had pretty much all gone, so quite lucky for once. Cheers fella 🙂
Ey up Marra. Brilliant video mate, the exact same route me and Mossy did. And I can concur the route off Raven Crag after Bowscale Fell, is fecking steep! Haha Also I agree with you, Mungrisdale Common gets a bad press, I like it! 👍 All the best mate Dave 😀🥾⛰
Great video Dave, did this walk April gone, it's not easy, the descent off Bowscale in the rain at the end was scary indeed. I think the summit of Souther Fell was the furthest point you walked to well done mate 👍
Cheers glad you cleared up the souther fell as i still didn't know... If i stuck to my gpx map i downloaded it wouldn't have taken me there.. Yea i knew Bowscale was going to be bad but I did the descent just to get the badge of saying' Ive done that' cheers for watching :)
Great walk Dave, we walked it in the opposite direction last year. I think we were doing the Coniston Fells the same time you were doing this(if it was yesterday). Keep the brews going!!
yea this was yesterday, now the snow ahs almost completely gone.. The opposite direction would have been better as that descent down Bowscale fell isn't nice at all, nowt to hold on to either just prickly bushes everywhere
Nice video Dave. Bit brave to do Mungrisedale Common after all the rain lately as its known to be a bog fest. I also did Blencathra in the snow , some scenery up there.
Great video Dave Lad! What a day eh....my favourite Hills I've Summited Blencathra over a hundred times... the wander across the Mungrisdale Common to my favourite place The Cloven Stone is my favourite area in the whole Lake District many people slag the Mungrisdale Common off... GOOD!! it might keep them away...i can't film when the Summits are busy either I just film the Cairn or Trig try to keep the folk out of frame then put a voice overlay in later with the info....well done Bud ATV Andy and The ROCK STAR ⭐
Aye it's one if them rare perfect days nee wind and just enough snow to make the walking down easier.. am gonna have to go back and do a wild camp on the common I think, it just felt so far away from civilisation and great peace and quiet. Thanks for watching lad 🙂
Hello Dave mate them fells are bog fest remember when I walked over to mungrisdale common nearly went waist deep in peat this week I did place fell angletarn pikes on Tues Fri arnison crag Birks and st Sunday was covered in snow st Sunday slipped right on my backside hahaha hope you're good currently on 94 wanna get to 100 then restart in spring
Aye good effort lad I havent done angle tarn or birks.. it's difficult this time of year with the daylight loss, o find it hard to get motivated to get out but ya doing well, keep it up 🙂
@@daveostlemountainmancheers Dave just want to get to 100 and call it a day for the spring your right about the light need 6 more for 100 but weather looks awful for the new week you keep up the good work with your videos bet you should have yours done before end of next summer

Great hike, Dave😁
