Thank you so much for doing this video! This is the only video on UA-cam that I have been able to find on repairing this rifle . I have tried a couple times to repair mine without much success. Now I am back in business. Thank you again
No problem man! Thanks for the kind words. I couldn't find any either and the forums give you enough information to stumble through it but it is definitely confusing! Lol That's why I made this video. I figured there are tons of these guns here in the states so somebody should do a video about it. Glad you found it useful 👍 Thanks for watching. I do appreciate it!
Thank you for this. The most useful Seneca Aspen/Nova Freedom video on youtube and the only one showing some disassembly. I can only say that my Nova Freedom pump (it was oiled every time) broke after a few hundred shots. I was going to try to repair it, but given how complicated fixing the pump is I will sell it very cheaply instead. Seneca Aspen/Nova Freedom is a big POS.
Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it! Unfortunately, you are correct about these rifles. They are guaranteed to fail. After fixing mine for the third time, I gave up on it. It is too bad to because they are really accurate.
Nice video big j you are a hero to airgunner that believe in this rifle and don't wanna give up on the concept of being free from all the extra accessories needed for pcp now offer any services for repairs
You Did It !! Fantastic!! May the wind always cease when you look thru your sights. May the whitetail take up residence in your backyard on opening day. May the Bird of Paradise fly...
Thanks for the information, great content. I was ready to purchase mine this month hoping they had worked out those issues by now. I will email you to request the manual just in case I decide to take a chance because I really like the idea of a PCP gun with that pumping system.
Great and informative video, thanks! Perhaps you could do a video on overhauling and general maintenance for PCP hand pumps, that would be much appreciated. Thanks again!
Thanks for the video. This was the only one I could find. I have a newer model that had a brass fitting in the tube. Can't see how to get that out. The rod on the end just spins.
the hollow end of butt stock can be used to store all type of things .im gonna put all tools needed to repair it in the field in a emergency .i think this is one of an awesome survival air rifle . put ammo ,silicone oil ,orings ,etc, in there also . i have had this nova freedom over 3 yrs ,no probs with pump because i use plenty silicone oil before and after a shooting session ,keep it filled with 1000 to 1500 psi of air at all times to keep stuff out , and once in a while ill pump to max and completely bleed it ,you should see the much that comes out of it ,it looks like residue from orings and silicone oil .i also pump it up after each 10 shots to avoid creating too much heat from pumping to empty back to my sweet spot of 3200 psi !!!!!!! . just recently ,i must have had a bad slug ,tried to push in with too much force and my handle to probe cocking / pushing arm bent than finally broke in 2 . i am thinking ,i will make a newer one out of something soon , something a little stronger than was in it . now on the subject of the orings ,i will do some research to see what type would be best for it ,apparently the ones from factory arent the best ,because this happens to a lot of people .i think the right oring and the use of pure 100% silicone oil would make this air rifle a lot better . i also use plumbers and electrical silicone grease all over the rifle also . any input on the pellet pusher/cocker arm i greatly appreciated !!!! thank you for your awesome info bro .
I just saw these comments because you tube keeps me from seeing them for some reason. They are only showing up in my yt studio which I don't check comments over here on a regular basis. I apologize for the late responses.
So... First, great video. It helped me get everything apart by about 98%. However, the last bit where you simply screw the tube away from the center rod did not work on mine. I got stuck right where you say "yours may not come apart like that". No. mine does not. It looks like you need s specialized tool to reach just slightly inside that metal tube to grip what looks like a brass nut. Once I figure that out I'm hoping the rest will be as you say and I can just replace the single ring with two 0-006 o-rings. Any idea where I can get that specialized tool? If not I'll have to make or rig something, not sure on that yet.
Big J, I have a .25 Seneca Apen also, I am having problems with the hand pump, I frankly don't have the tools and knowledge and when I attempt the unknown I end up breaking other stuff...Are you interested in doing the overhaul on my gun? I'll cover the shipping your fee and parts, let me know, thanks...John I got the plans you mentioned and started to take the gun apart...then someone said try lubricating the pump so I did...and BUDDA BOOM problem solved...but learned a lot about the gun.
Great video. I would really like a copy of the assembly instructions (spec sheets). I will email you. I contacted American Tactical today and they told me that they don’t have anything at all for airguns any longer. Air Guns of Arizona told me that they no longer carry the gun or parts and to call American Tactical. My gun is the Seneca version (Aspen) and never was able to fill with a probe. Now it will barely fill with integrated hand pump as there is back pressure even on the upstroke. I actually broke the handle off today attempting to pump up pressure. Don’t know where to get a handle for it. Thanks for your help as I plan to take it apart.
Any idea what threads are on the black pump adapter and what size the rubber check valve seats are? Trying to either rebuild or convert to regulated bottle.
Hey Justin, sorry for the late response. I do not know but that is on my list because I will be doing the same thing. If you have figured it out please let me know. Thanks
Just used your Benjamin Prowler nitro piston video to replace mine! Thank you so much for that video! I also have the Nova Freedom .22. I've taken it apart a few times and have multiple oring harnesses and materials. I even got a flat oring similar to stock. I've been trying to locate the correct size of the bolt probe oring or the oring delete tubing. Do you know what size that oring or delete tube needs to be ?
Hey there, glad you found the video useful! It's really not to bad of a job. Unfortunately I do not know those sizes. I will try to find out what I can and if you find anything out let me know man!
@@bigjsoutdoorsairguns9007 just found my 006 orings. Throw those HF vitons away! They will fail very quickly. I did that same thing and they ripped apart. @bigjsoutdoorsairguns9007 yes it's a high pressure foot pump and I've used it before to charge it up but now it just won't hold the air, I tested the pump and it holds the air without any leaks, when it's hooked up to the rifle you can hear the air coming out.

The way this is designed could it in any way be shortened to 36.5 inches. Can the barrel be taken down! I'd really love to. See a bullpup version. I want to fit one into my 100 liter survival rucksack!
hi guys. I have problems with the valve on my Seneca Aspen, the valve and the valve body as well as the pump, does anyone know where I can buy these parts?
I didn't. I am mechanically inclined and I just do as my research as I can and then go for it. Lol I would like to take Gun Smith courses myself sometime.
What kind of company would produce a a complicated and often unreliable air rifle such as this and then not provide parts. I contacted them just recently for parts and that had none and don't even know if or when they will have any. Now I am stuck with a $300 + useless gun. Absolutely ridiculous.
I agree 100% with you. And they sell them knowing they are guaranteed to fail. Pretty pathetic. I spoke with someone that works for a company that used to sell them and he said 7 out of 10 came back defective and that is why the quit selling them. It's to bad because they are very accurate and the concept is great.
If your problem is the pump, the Aspen can be filled using a compressor or one of the available aftermarket hand pumps. Plus, any gun part can be made or fixed.

The day I go to play with mine and I hear I have an air leak!! It could be the bleed valve. I'll try that first
cool.God bless.
I had this airgun and had to return it over the pump being shit. 👍
The way this is designed could it in any way be shortened to 36.5 inches. Can the barrel be taken down! I'd really love to. See a bullpup version. I want to fit one into my 100 liter survival rucksack!
Barrel shroud is about 6" longer than the actual barrel
hi guys. I have problems with the valve on my Seneca Aspen, the valve and the valve body as well as the pump, does anyone know where I can buy these parts?

Would like a copy of breakdown on aspen please
Thanks Roger

I am having trouble with my nova freedom.could I pay you to fix mine
Hi Murrel, unfortunately due to my work schedule I just don't have time to work on stuff right now.
Do you do repair work? Can I send you my Seneca for repair?
Can you just take the pump arm off of the gun and just run it as a PCP with the fill probe ??
Yes you should be able to.
Did you go to school to learn how to repair guns, I'm retired and would like to learn how to gun smith
I love you brother how you going to comment on your own video that it sucks
Hahaha! Glad you caught that! I thought it was pretty funny my own self! 😆
How can I get that zip file, please?
