I really enjoyed XVI, especially compared to XV, but I really missed the tactical aspect to combat from previous games. Not to mention controlling only Clive for the entire game became very repetitive, even more so when you’ve found your optimal ability setup. The system they’ve established with the Remake trilogy is one I think they should develop upon and implement in all future mainline games as it strikes the perfect balance between fun, challenging, and the classic formula. 🤓
Rebirth has great combat when it comes to the synergy abilities. 16 however, is definitely for people who like Devil May Cry and other action games. Rebirth requires some strategy while 16 is more straight forward. I like them both in their own ways
Would’ve really loved if 16 supporting characters were playable. Switching between Joshua, Jill, Torgal, Cid, Dion and Clive (hell even Gav) would’ve worked so well for the story and you wouldn’t have to shelf like 4/5 of your abilities.
I kind of wish instead of having Clive absorbing the other Eikons they pulled a Legend of Dragoon and had various party members absorb the powers of the bad guy dominants.
Rebirth. When enemies go outside and then return to their respawn area, in 16 the health starts all over again. Combat is way more reinforced and robust in FF7 Rebirth, i really like 16 for other reasons, but combat miles better in Rebirth
The thing is that FF16 is 80% there, its missing difficulty, More variations in button inputs and Elemental weaknesses that makes you think when approaching enemies and a much deeper Torgal skill tree. The specticle of FF16 is extremely high and Ive never been so amazed.
Yeah, I hope FF17 makes combat more challenging. Clive is just a juggernaut and combat isn't fun if there's no fear of dying. You're just doing essentially a bunch a small QTEs.
@@brandonhill7452 Yeah, it depends on what you want from the game. FF7Rb is more a complete game, while 16 is like a visual spectacle in a medieval setting with some of the craziest kaiju fights i've ever seen.
@myathtin9521 You're kidding yourself if you think FF16 is hard. Even without the ring accesories the game is still easy. Even the hardest difficulty in FF16 is easy when compared to Rebirth's hard mode.
7 is way better, 16 combat gets monotonous fast. The RPG is much deeper in 7 with all the weapons and Gear and Materia and Skills and mutiple Charcaters and switching, synergies is much deeper.
That's because the combat in 16 depends way more on how you combo attacks and not about using the spells correctly and having weaknesses and etc. 16 is a full action game, Rebirth has simple combat that improves the customization of standard turn based RPGs. There is a reason the game was made so you have Classic mode too. You don't need execution to do stuff on Rebirth.
Yeah 16 got monotonous I feel like you can make crazy builds and combos in FF7 but with 16 it gets boring closer to the end of the game, like I would always spam the claw move
@@ImTheMan0fSteel equipment and progress system is def better in ff7r. But battle? No imo. Ff7 is a half baked trying hard action game that feels so clunky and no weight on it.
Right i enjoyed FF as a fan of the series for years. Great game and really like the new additions. But it definitely is the most different out of all the FFs. Just very weird and different, not in a negative way.
I legit don't even remember the Bahamut fight coz of how boring, tedious and overlong the boss fights were. Airbuster boss battle from FF7Remake is better than every single boss in 16
Better combat maybe. But 16 better game overall. 7 remake had more sighs and gasps than it did dialogue. That's a sign of not talented ppl who cant convey emotion or good narrative. They also play it safe by not killing avalanche and made sephiroth look like like he fancies cloud.
Well then you'll love FF7 because FF16's story is just a recycled version of FF7's, except FF7's actually has amazing NPCs and side protagonists who have actual purpose and archs.
@@hotcoldman77 not really boring, I love the fact that I have every portion of eikons and get to play around them all in Valisthea. I like both ff7 and 16 but 16 just blew me away, it really is a final fantasy game. Not only that the game is dark and mature which I love. Clive went from a boy to a man at the end of the game. And oh the cutscenes are amazing, this is all I wanted from a final fantasy game. The fact the graphics and combat look like cgi is mind blowing, You may not like the game but I and other people do so I hope you have a good day sir.
The new FF7 has the perfect mix of turn based and action gameplay, it should actually be the standard for FF going foward. FF16's combat was some of the most automated feeling dull shit ive experienced. Sqaure really made FF16 all around very flashy, but when it came to the gameplay, world, NPCs, writing, etc. its very shallow and feels like the dev team was forced to shape the game that they wanted to make into a Final Fantasy mold. FF16 is the very definition of "All style and no Substance"
So far im enjoying ff7 rebirth much more. Ff16 while it has a good story and characters it just dosent have much room to breathe and just be a game. I felt like i was watching ff16 more then playing it. But still all the big boss fight encounters were really epic and when the game cooked it went all out.
After FF16 fast combat I couldn't adjust to hybrid FF7 style. For all winging about mushing square just change handicap amulets and enjoy your own fast reflexes.
You can adjust to access other characters abilities by holding R2 and L2 that way you don’t need to go to menus all the time. Made the combat much more fast paced for me.
I wanted to like FF16 and the cinematic fights are jaw dropping, but the combat is just so so easy it quickly gets boring. There's no tension in fights because your team just steamrolls everything.
For me most satisfying combat games are still Metal Gear Rising and Ninja Gaiden , haven't seen any games beat their combats in many many years already they are just a great combat in gaming history
My dude I'm in 100% agreement there. Nothing will ever be made that even comes close to Ninja Gaiden. It's like you're playing fighting game mechanics in a hack and slash. It forced you to actually git gud with no level of grinding that could save you. I remember wanting to throw my Xbox controller many times during my first playthrough, especially with Almas second form cause you were forced to watch that long ass cutscene with no ability to skip it every time you died. But man once you get good, and start to play on the harder difficulties (whereas the game didn't just stay exactly the same while simply making you take more damage but actually upgraded each enemy class who would assault you frustratingly with a smarter AI) you felt pretty god-like. Unfortunately I don't think that kind of game is appealing to people anymore because it's not 'figure out the enemy pattern' or a 'do side quests till you're leveled up enough' sort of game. You had to legit develop fast reaction times and thimb dexterity that I don't think would appeal to a wide enough audience to justify a modern gaming budget. Plus Creep-Tagaki is gone so we'll likely never see a game like that ever again especially with most action oriented games trying to be another Souls clone with mazey levels and environments 😭
16s combat hands down is superior. Combos, smoothness, scale, enemies, boss fights is all better than Rebirth. Problem with Rebirth is nothing changes from beginning to end, same as remake in the combat, very repetitive. 16s combat is the best system since DMC5, which same combat designer so there you go, has many different combinations through out the whole game
Both games have phanomenal combat for different reason and both are extremely fun. However, I feel enemy/boss design in Rebirth sometimes are at war with the combat system which does feel extremely bad when it happens. That and a few bosses (like how Odin's mechanic interacts with NPCs you aren't controlling or the duo fight involving him and Alex) are just not well designed. In contrast, never felt a single normal enemy, elite enemy, hunt, or boss was at war with FF16's system. Everything flowed togther well and it was an all around better experience for me. That and I think people tend to vastly overblow the "strategic element" of FF combat systems since outside of enemies/bosses with extremely restrictive gimmiks or superbosses (and even thebits not too much strategy and you can brite force it if determined), you don't have to strategize much. Played the game primarily with Yuffie and played extremely similar to how I did in FF16, and that combined with how broken Doppelganger is, I've melted most enemies and boss (on Dynamic mode) with almost no change in strategy and little incentive to change up my build since it works so well. You know, the same mindset people try to use to say 16 has no depth, because it is a very easy statement to make about both games, rendering its value as an arguement against one vs the other completely pointless.
I think 16 has a more fun and solid combat system. It’s stylish and fun and looks great. 7 is fun but is slower and messy at times, however Rebirth is a big improvement
I think ff16 has a much more fun combat system however I think ff7 has better rpg mechanics by using materia and weaknesses against enemies. But the actual level of fun combat is in ff16 is on another level than rebirth. Both are amazing games but different from each other with each having their own strengths and weaknesses
^^Someone actually got the correct answer. Yes -- these are two different games/vibes. Only I'm not deciding which one is 'better' because i have the life experience to know comparing stuff like this is what children do.
I like the Menu system in Rebirth, but 16 has better action-based/combos. 7Rb feels a lot more loose, where 16 is very tight and crisp and accurate. I like them both, but they're just very different and I think it's just a matter of personal opinion on what's more enjoyable. They're both really best in class
I played both. But ff7 combat didn’t work for me. I felt much more limited on my actions. And personally that pause time to select items or magic broke my immersion every time. Not saying the game is bad. But definitely not for me.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s soundtrack has been arranged with a live orchestra, just like its predecessor. On the other hand, Final Fantasy XVI’s soundtrack was arranged with a VST synthesized orchestra.
Love devil may fantasy 16 it had a great story, soundtrack and gameplay. Ff7 rebirth has also been an amazing game with a great story obviously but I find ff7 rebirth is much more hand holding then 16. Sure you can wear items that make 16 a button mashing brainless experience but you can literally choose a harder mode and just parry things to add to the gameplay.
I played the shit out of 16. I really enjoyed the game. The combat was superb. It was fast action packed. The cutscenes were a little much but hey I was still mesmerized on how beautiful the game looked. And specially after the epic boss battles I was ready for a cutscene 😂 Playing Rebirth. Have put 10 hours in and just got to Chapter 3 and what can I say… with how it’s going and how much fun I’m having. Rebirth could very well be my fav FF game of all time. It’s perfect. A complete masterpiece and I still have a long ways to go.
I've played almost every Final Fantasy. Also played a LOT of 16. My favorite used to be OG 7 and 12 but I think 7 Rebirth takes the cake now. It has all of the ingredients of a perfect Final Fantasy unlike many of the modern titles
At this point I wish UA-cam would somehow enact an insane rule to ban British and American men from speaking in videos. It's always the same annoying voices, accents and mispronunciations, at least in the gaming world. And yes, I wish I didn't care.
I find it hard to believe that people in this comment section even played the original FFVII, remake, and rebirth. So for those that only played rebirth are completely lost in the story. FFVII is contended for original players, while 16 is meant for people who are wanting to experience a new gameplay mechanic and story while also being meant for new players to the franchise.
I love both but based on end game stuff like Omega in FF16 and VR missions in FF7Rebirth, noting the battle design alongside character combat, 100% I love FF16 a bit more.
I'm going to vote for rebirth. I really like 16 but the lack of controllable party members and status effects hurts it dearly. Did really like those Eikon fights though.
I had a lot of fun with both and if I wanted to I could pick both apart. I like the flash and real time action of FF16 as well as how little time I spend in menus. FF7 Rebirth is great with the different party members and materia customization that makes for a lot of variety and depth. I love both and I will be in FF7 Rebirth for awhile as well as playing the FF16's DLC.
I'm not very good at action games and I found 16 easy and boring. Once you get more than a few eikon abilities you just have to switch between them as they recharge and spam them nonstop to win. The entire game bored me to death so I guess that doesn't help.
Rebirth feels like you build up ATB to just spam the same attacks. I liked cooldown system of 16 because you end up using way more abilities and it makes the combat feel much more satisfying. Overall, 16 feels way more fun and thrilling.
I dislike the cooldown system because you can just run around waiting for the CD , thus ive been using just ultimate abilites. wheres in rebirth you need to build the meter and there is a mana cost for spells. makes you need to strategize and plan more.
You have to work for atb, cds on the other hand are always available at start and you can easily destroy most enemies at the start of the encounter by spamming them. You can also just run and wait for cds in situations that can make gameplay too passive. There’s no way cd is better than atb for better player engagement
I don’t get your point, in 16 you also wait for cool-downs to “spam the same attacks,” more so than rebirth. Rebirths actually forces you to use different abilities and spells on enemies due to weaknesses, in 16 you can just equip all the ultimate abilities with lightning rod and melt bosses since there’s no weaknesses and your cooldowns refresh at the start of each fight you can just mindlessly spam all your abilities and end the fight immediately.
@@craig9908 Yeah, I felt that a lot in the latter part of the game. At the start of every fight I just spammed my cds and destroyed everything on sight... rinse and repeat. I forced myself to play differently to make it less monotonous
Well, I really liked Remake’s combat… But now, after playing XVI and its fluid, fast, engaging and flawlessly animated battle system, I find it REALLY hard adjusting and going back to Remake’s combat in Rebirth. It’s considerably slower and clunkier and therefore less engaging. It’s more tactical, yes, but still too basic to make up for the clunkiness and slowness with it’s depth. Hope I’ll “regain” the love I had for it in Remake and that XVI didn’t completely spoil Rebirth’s combat for me (or any other action game that isn’t DMC V, that is).
I prefer the combat in 16 more than waiting for atb gauge i also like precision dodging rather than slow timed blocks. Being able to dominate with the eikons in combat is better rather than waiting for summons. Buuuuut ff7 is the better game tho
Well, 4 months later but, imo if ff16 had any difficulty at all in the combat could perhaps compete but since there is not, after the point where all the animations stop amazing us the combat its just boring, its also almost impossible to die unless you really put some limitations by yourself or go fight enemies way above your level.. and dont get me wrong i loved ff16,have like 250h on it but unfortunately theres something missing in that game, in terms lf combat rebirth way superior for me
Is this even a debate ? FFVII Remake/Rebirth have by far the BEST battle system ever made in any Final Fantasy. It is dynamic, spectacular, thrilling, deep, strategic, fun and impressive. I hope they will stick to this formula for the next FF games way beyond FF7 Remake part 3. FFXVI battle system was entertaining for a couple of hours, but it was sooooo redundant passing few hours ; it was to me a very generic beat'em all with a list of cool downs to activate on and on and on. No depth, . FFXVI had a lot of potential , I was really expecting it and got really frustrated. It was a game painful to finish. And I have no will to restart the game whatsoever. Like never ever. At some point they should stop reinveting the wheel at every single entry and keep what is working well. FFVII Remake formula is really wonderfully crazy efficient ; they really are onto something , just stick to it. Or they can act that there are 2 schools of battle systems, with 2 different branches of FF games ; but I will definetly stick with the FFVII remake branch, every single day.
Rebirth's combat is better by a mile. 16's combat is just cycling through eikons. Feels like a mindless button masher game, which is a horrible look for any jrpg. Rebirth being able to change materia allows you to fully customize how each character can play. Then theres combat skills and custom equiping them to a hotbar on L1. Open world map is the obvious cherry on top. It's going to get rpg GOTY for sure.
I'm waiting for all 3, all dlc and a physical complete edition box of all of it to be released b4 I buy it so I can play it all as one game like it did with the orig years back. Played the demo of remake though :-) it was great that it was the same as the original 7s demo :-D Anyway what was I gonna say? Oh yeah, rebirths combat def sounds ALOT better than 16 :-D I played the demo of 16 and didn't think much of it, even the game itself. Don't even think I bothered finishing the demo.
Rebirth has great combat. But everything you do when there is no combat is the slowest and most tedious slug i ever played. Climbing, sneaking, or pushing wagons from point A to point B makes me go crazy (just to name a few)
Im going to be 100% honest. After playing Granblue Fantasy Relink (Relink) and 100% that game FF7 rebirth combat is horrible. Relink doesn't have Dumb AI companions like rebirth Relink actually has a working blocking system, unlike the trash blocking in rebirth Relink actually has Dodges that will actually dodge attacks, unlike rebirth being hit in the middle of a dodge. Relink has an actual ****ing jump button to do air to air combat Relinks Combo system Leagues better than rebirth i like every other aspect of this game, but the combat is so bad in rebirth that it almost ruins this game The only bad thing i have to say about FF16 combat is that you really dont have a team like in ff7, but i like FF16 combat better than ff7
I like both, but FVII much more enjoyable overall to me. XVI has same problem XV did on launch with being locked into playing one character in what is, typically, a party-based franchise. Having 3-4 playable characters with variance in their playstyles like VII in XVI would have put it over the top for me. Unfortunately, it's just Clive.
I played both casually, and after all the recency bias, I would have to vote ff16. 7 rebirth felt stressful during the fight, it felt like tug of war. Ff16 on other hand like slicing through a butter.
Haven’t played rebirth yet just the demo but if it was between remake or 16, 16 takes it for me, I like the action skill based combat vs the having to control multiple people also not having really any parry or perfect dodges is a big negative for me
Same. In Rebirth’s case, tactical depth would have to make up for it to make it more engaging, but I’m worried that it won’t have enough of it if Remake’s any indication.
Both are good on there own FF7 Rebirth is a JRPG with a mix of action and turn based strategie and FF16 is a hack and slash. If you want a game with focus on strategie play FF7 Rebirth, if you want a game with focus on combos play FF16.
FF XV combat felt very ”floaty” the attacks didn’t give the right stimuli feedback from the button press, it was like the button was initiating a mini cinematic and not actual recoil. XVI combat is great but the problem with it is that it feels like a Hack and Slash which isn’t bad, but a skilled hack and slash player can overcome any obstacle which in turn would break the ROG leveling up aspect, so the combat feels very grindy and Un rewarding, wash rinse repeat. FFVII remake didn’t get the combat quite right, the stagger bar made it feel grindy too. But rebirth succeeds immensely where the combat doesn’t feel like a slog and at the same time doesn’t feel hollow. The combat feels exactly like KIngdom Hearts
Rebirth is by far the best FF I have played in a long time. XVI was great but it eventually got dull to me and struggled to keep my interest. I also hated some of the button layouts. Switching between different attacks sort of irked me due to my ADHD. However I REALLY loved the Godzilla x Final Fantasy feel. It's the only reason I was so hooked to begin with. With Rebirth I found myself replaying Remake before launch just to get a bigger experience and it truly feels like I'm replaying a massive huge Final Fantasy game that I always dreamed about. I would love to see more FF with this same combat system coming out with these same kind of multiple parts whether through DLC expansions or new game in parts.
We’re should I start I’ve never played a FF game I played rebirth demon and it was pretty fun never really like the turn based combat but in the demo didn’t feel like that am I missing something should I play FF16 or FF remake or rebirth first
@@Steveo0547 Well, I started with FF7 back during the PS1 era. So my opinion might be a bit bias, so I really want to say FF7 Remake then Rebirth and if you really enjoyed those, then 16 might be the next best. If you want to start short then big, then try 16 first. 15 is good too that's also real time action and just as short but 16 is much better. FF7 R&RB together will feel like a really long and MASSIVE journey like how every FF felt back in the day. I feel the reason Rebirth isn't making as big sales as Remake is because most people now know it's not a full retelling of the original story. But since you never played the original, you most likely won't care and be able to enjoy the game more. So you can just start with Remake, if you enjoyed it enough grab Rebirth. There will also still be one more FF7 game to complete the series(the PS1 game came with 3 discs so it's actually really cool for an old fan) so you'll have plenty of time considering how much to do they give you. Thankfully, they have everything to make the game like Rebirth, they just have to put it together. So maybe another 3-4 years? Something to keep in mind if you'd rather wait. FF16 I think you'll enjoy but the experience will obviously not feel as long and unfortunately there's some slow parts that might kill the experience for you as it did for me and a friend of mine. We didn't hate it, we just fell off it out of boredom. Although the beginning to the mid point was REALLY fun. But FF7 has my full on attention. Timing might have a lot to do with it too though cause I just got the PS5 a couple months ago playing 16 and Spider-Man.
@@Steveo0547i would recommend 7 Remake because the combat is a mix of the classic ATB system and the new action combat, its also a generally good game.
i dont know about combat, but which character have a BETTER PURPOSE i have the answer for that. clive have a real purpose than the cheesy cloud's story plot.
16s combat got really old eventually, at the end of the game it’s just about staggering an enemy and using your eikon abilities that have cooled down. FF7s is so much more diverse and engaging instead of mashing square plus eikon abilities
Rebirth is better and it's not even close for me. Honestly I hope square is taking notes and that they're next main line FF installment borrows heavily from the design of rebirth. Maybe my expectations were just too low after feeling pretty mid about remake, but rebirth so far has blown me out of the water. I'm about 40 hours in and I feel like I've barely even scratched the surface.
Rebirth would be perfect if it was faster and didn't play like a turn based RPG and required you to pause all the time and XVI would be perfect if it had party based with combat with direct control without sacrificing the speed it currently has. But KH3 trumps both of them and has more interesting fights that don't revolve around stagger and damage optimization.
Ok first i beat these two games, FF16 is combo heavy combat type of game and custom moveset its dmc and bayonetta. FF7 rebirth is more diverse builds. ff16 dmc style vs ffvii kh style game.
bro, you dumb asf if you're playing on easy mode with those accessories. those accessory exists for those who just wants to enjoy the story. but for those gameplay enthusiast, you remove them.
I think that happens when the entire budget isn't dedicated to making the game as flashy and pretty as possible while putting the world, story, writing, NPCs, etc. on the back burner. FF16 is all style and no substance, best thing about it though imo is the OST.
i beat 16 only thing that game has going is its story one of best ff stories of all time but about 22-32 hours in the game gets so boring including the first dlc the game is about 59 hours another thing about 16 is it feels like a solo game even though u have "party members" all other ff felt like u had a party
The combat in 16 does "feel" satisfying but the more you understand it the more you realize how it's just an extremely shallow God of War wannabe. 7 has a great mixture of action and strategy that actually feels appropriate for what a modern Final Fantasy game should be.
16 is obvious the best of the 2 because of how deep the action combat is. Rebirth is more simple and given the new tools interesting to customize. 16 has Arcade Style game combat, where the replayability is pretty high and you going to keep getting better. Rebirths Replayability will depend on the choices you going to have for partners, synergy skills, and limit breaks, which is fascinating. But if I was stuck on an island with no internet and only one game, I would pick 16.
@@SpaceGod_ZNot really, the game gives you tons of systems and abilities to have fun with. If you put in the effort and experiment a lot and play it like DMC, trying to pull off the craziest combos, it’s really engaging. If you chose to play it in a boring way (i.e. just mindlessly cycle through abilities and waiting for cooldowns, as you called it) instead of playing it like a proper action game, then it’s kinda your fault, not the game’s.
I couldnt finish FF16 because although the combat and game was beautiful it got so repetitive that i sold the game before i finished it, might get again when on sale but FF7 is on a diffenet dimension its GOTY contendar and probably one of the best FF ever made
Ff7 rebirth is for the people who wanna pretend to be tactical and smart but won't admit their just mashing square and dodging till a bar fills up😂 16 is a half baked dmc clone that at least had you playing instead of just spamming enemy weaknesses for staggers and then pretending that youre so smart for using a fire ball on a ice bird... All so you can mash square or an ability you've seen 300 times before
Ff7 is more strategic ff16 is easy to learn hard to master you can get sort of close to dmc level of complexity what holds it back is the only 2 skills per icon needed atleast 3 and less cooldowns but then you need to increase basic enemies aggressiveness
ff16 ofc IF, they added party system, elemental weaknesses, remove time stop on ULTS making boss fights a bit harder. ff7 R/R is just trying hard to get action game fans to get in and like their game.

7 hands down. This should be the new battle system moving forward
Agreed
Better combat maybe. But 16 better game overall. 7 remake had more sighs and gasps than it did dialogue. That's a sign of not talented ppl who cant convey emotion or good narrative. They also play it safe by not killing avalanche and made sephiroth look like like he fancies cloud.
Hell no. I hate Remake and Rebirth's combat. It makes no goddamned sense. Either do an action game, or do a turn based game. Quit trying to do both.

First time enjoying the combat and very satisfying boss fights. Wasn’t sure if it was just me but seems like this is the consensus
Is the final fantasy game series worth it? I'm a new fan both these games look awesome but are they actually good in gameplay and compelling story?
FF16 was phenomenal to me absolutely loved the story and the combat
Well then you'll love FF7 because FF16's story is just a recycled version of FF7's, except FF7's actually has amazing NPCs and side protagonists who have actual purpose and archs.

@@hotcoldman77Your head must be hurting by all the shaking
I know I miss just using magic easily and doing magic burst combos😂
My dude this game is way different to 7 remake,n you have jump attacks, perfect parries, dodge cancels, double team attacks and more
@@petebagwell6666ngl going from 16 to rebirth was a crazy change, I’m spamming R1 to dodge n shit 🤣🤣🤣
You know, the same mindset people try to use to say 16 has no depth, because it is a very easy statement to make about both games, rendering its value as an arguement against one vs the other completely pointless.
other RPG games are basically competing for the 3rd place now
I think 16 has a more fun and solid combat system. It’s stylish and fun and looks great. 7 is fun but is slower and messy at times, however Rebirth is a big improvement
Final Fantasy XVI is easily my winner.
The answer is pretty simple: Granblue Fantasy Relink.
Relink is some of what 16 was missing
I loved 16 but this vote goes to FF7. Yeah DMC combat style is cool, but theres nothing like from moving from fire to Firaga and enjoying the power.
They are both amazing but Final Fantasy 16 style of combat is my thing
Ff7 rebirth easily has the better combat
I love them both and actually like that they have different combat styles.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s soundtrack has been arranged with a live orchestra, just like its predecessor. On the other hand, Final Fantasy XVI’s soundtrack was arranged with a VST synthesized orchestra.
And yet 16 fucking kills rebirths ost
Love devil may fantasy 16 it had a great story, soundtrack and gameplay. Ff7 rebirth has also been an amazing game with a great story obviously but I find ff7 rebirth is much more hand holding then 16. Sure you can wear items that make 16 a button mashing brainless experience but you can literally choose a harder mode and just parry things to add to the gameplay.
I played the shit out of 16. I really enjoyed the game. The combat was superb. It was fast action packed. The cutscenes were a little much but hey I was still mesmerized on how beautiful the game looked. And specially after the epic boss battles I was ready for a cutscene 😂
Playing Rebirth.
7 hands down like it way better that the dmc combat of ff16 still a good game but ff7 combat is way better
The pronunciation of Yuffie at 4:42 was so upsetting.

7 hands down for me. Cuz you can use a lot of characters. Its fun to skill spam as Clive but he is way too OP
If you’re not complete garbage at pure action games then definitely 16. 7 Remake is incredibly easy and the combat felt very restrictive
I'm not very good at action games and I found 16 easy and boring. Once you get more than a few eikon abilities you just have to switch between them as they recharge and spam them nonstop to win. The entire game bored me to death so I guess that doesn't help.
Can you save load outs or change materia mid battle? That was annoying in remake that you couldn’t
You couldn’t do that in any of the games, if you could just switch out material mid fight there are no stakes and no strategy implemented
Why...would you be able to change materia mod battle...ever?
Haven't played Rebirth yet, but 16 will damage your controller with all the button mashing.
I was actually a little worried about that when pulling off the craziest combos lol. My hands didn’t sweat as much since DMC V came out.
16 requires practice, 7 Rebirth requires grinding. 16 >>>
Rebirth is 100% the best FF game yet
16 feels like they put together a ton of prototype systems they were gonna make better later down in development
I'm waiting for all 3, all dlc and a physical complete edition box of all of it to be released b4 I buy it so I can play it all as one game like it did with the orig years back.
Played the demo of remake though :-) it was great that it was the same as the original 7s demo :-D
Anyway what was I gonna say? Oh yeah, rebirths combat def sounds ALOT better than 16 :-D I played the demo of 16 and didn't think much of it, even the game itself. Don't even think I bothered finishing the demo.
Honestly idk if it’ll be worth the wait at that point. These games are loooong. Even after they inevitably bundle them it’ll be ages until you’re done
@@SaberRexZealot Your point being? :-D
Rebirth has great combat. But everything you do when there is no combat is the slowest and most tedious slug i ever played. Climbing, sneaking, or pushing wagons from point A to point B makes me go crazy (just to name a few)

I prefer FF 16's combat but I also like action games like God of War a lot more.
Both are awsome. But...im old school and like the control of all characters that 7 offers. Again i loved both but prefer 7
No party in 16 is a hard pass for me.
real
but 16 is a great game beside that
Im going to be 100% honest.
After playing Granblue Fantasy Relink (Relink) and 100% that game FF7 rebirth combat is horrible.
Relink doesn't have Dumb AI companions like rebirth
Relink actually has a working blocking system, unlike the trash blocking in rebirth
Relink actually has Dodges that will actually dodge attacks, unlike rebirth being hit in the middle of a dodge.
Relink has an actual ****ing jump button to do air to air combat
Relinks Combo system Leagues better than rebirth
i like every other aspect of this game, but the combat is so bad in rebirth that it almost ruins this game
The only bad thing i have to say about FF16 combat is that you really dont have a team like in ff7, but i like FF16 combat better than ff7
Rebirth's combat feels like final fantasy. FF XVI was too much like DMC
I played both casually, and after all the recency bias, I would have to vote ff16. 7 rebirth felt stressful during the fight, it felt like tug of war. Ff16 on other hand like slicing through a butter.
16 was pretty trash. I couldnt even finish it. 7 is legit and I cant stop playing it.
i like much more the ff 16 combat
Both are dope but the other game has a lot missing
Haven’t played rebirth yet just the demo but if it was between remake or 16, 16 takes it for me, I like the action skill based combat vs the having to control multiple people also not having really any parry or perfect dodges is a big negative for me
Same. In Rebirth’s case, tactical depth would have to make up for it to make it more engaging, but I’m worried that it won’t have enough of it if Remake’s any indication.
Both are good on there own
FF7 Rebirth is a JRPG with a mix of action and turn based strategie and FF16 is a hack and slash.
If you want a game with focus on strategie play FF7 Rebirth, if you want a game with focus on combos play FF16.
7 is way better, but 16 isn't a bad game.
The story is bad
I actually like playing with aeris. She’s really op
If 16 let us play as Jill or Torgal I think the combat would have been less monotonous
i dont know about combat, but which character have a BETTER PURPOSE i have the answer for that. clive have a real purpose than the cheesy cloud's story plot.
Holding a button to unleash flashy attacks that cover a lot or ground is "engaging"? 😂

7R easilyyy takes the cake, 16's combat was incredibly bland and braindead
They're not that different really.
16 is like a kids version of DMC
rebirth is like a slightly more less boomer version of turn based/slow ass action.
FFXVI looks so good Visually , its combat is somewhat monotonous but wow I expected that level of graphic detail in Rebirth :/
I think that happens when the entire budget isn't dedicated to making the game as flashy and pretty as possible while putting the world, story, writing, NPCs, etc. on the back burner.
FF16 is all style and no substance, best thing about it though imo is the OST.
i beat 16
only thing that game has going is its story
one of best ff stories of all time
but about 22-32 hours in the game gets so boring
including the first dlc the game is about 59 hours
another thing about 16 is it feels like a solo game even though u have "party members"
all other ff felt like u had a party
I really enjoyed 16. But Rebirth of cos. Final Fantasy should be like Final Fantasy.
16 combat is deep???? This is cap u literally just cycle through the Eikon attacks. It gets old really fast
@@SpaceGod_ZNot really, the game gives you tons of systems and abilities to have fun with. If you put in the effort and experiment a lot and play it like DMC, trying to pull off the craziest combos, it’s really engaging.

Don't bother getting back 16. It's pure garbage
Eh i like both🤷♂️
Ff7 rebirth is for the people who wanna pretend to be tactical and smart but won't admit their just mashing square and dodging till a bar fills up😂 16 is a half baked dmc clone that at least had you playing instead of just spamming enemy weaknesses for staggers and then pretending that youre so smart for using a fire ball on a ice bird... All so you can mash square or an ability you've seen 300 times before
Is this a real question? One word; Tifa… oh wait, but still, FF7Rebirth got team combo, and multiple characters and their different mechanics…
