Another nice place near Edinburgh. Thanks for this interesting video. I have now seen all your UA-cam videos, so now I al looking forward to the new ones. Keep up the good work. Cheers from Norway 😊
Duddingston village is wonderful , surprised Dr Neil's amazing garden (founded in 1963) is open in winter as it's usually March to October , it is even more magical in spring & summer , i was there last June during a 'heatwave' & it really felt like a tranquil garden of Eden with numerous dragonflies , bees & butterflies amongst all the plants & flowers , i remember the 1975 BBC tv series of the Secret Garden , only 7 episodes were made. Hard to believe the Kirk is almost a thousand years old ! , making it one of the oldest buildings in the city. Not sure if the Sheep Heid really does go as far back as 1360 , more likely 16th century as you said which could mean that the Golf Tavern in Bruntsfield (1456) is Scotland's oldest pub but the White Hart Inn (1516) in the Grassmarket also claims the title !. I hope the Queen enjoyed her meal at the Sheep Heid a few years ago after a day out at Musselburgh races , apparently the staff only had about an hours warning to prepare 😂, just around the corner from the pub is Bonnie Prince Charlies base for the Battle of Prestonpans in 1745 !. Keep up the great work Roger , it is really appreciated. 👍
Thanks for this, Rog, on another Edinburgh hidden gem! The Loch, walkways, garden, in a perfect, beautiful location. Had a nice day as well, and to finish at that pub, the icing on the cake. Also a good day in Alnwick, just leaving for a walk, might even stop off for a pint on my way back! Yes, Frances Hodgson Burnett wrote what many consider her best work, "The Secret Garden", published in 1911. Thanks for sharing. 👍 😊
Add her to Dr. Neil’s garden and the sheep in pub but I didn’t realize they park in the same area. I think I can get a bus out there and I might explore it when I’m there in May.
THE GARDEN WAS VERY NICE, BUT PROBABLY BEST VISITED IN THE SUMMER WHEN IT WILL BE AT ITS BEST, ROYALTY HAVE ALSO BEEN KNOWN TO POP IN TO THE SHEEPS HEID INN APPARENTLY.
What do you think of Dr Neil's Garden. Let me know in the comments below! 😀
Fantastic we plan to visit here in the summer we love east lothian Edinburgh region. We want to see inside the church as well

Cheers Aidan! Fascinating how much history there can be surrounding a garden and a pub! 😀
😲 You were in my village. I'm glad you enjoyed it. You need to come here on a summer evening to really get the beauty of it. 👍
Will definitely be back to see the garden in full bloom and sink a cold one at the Sheep Heid Inn in the summer😀

Hey @Alan.92n - Thanks for the remionder on the book!
Always used to do plant sales in Dr Neil's garden there 20+ years ago. I've heard about the Sheep's Heid but haven't been there yet.
It's a nice pub. The menu looked pretty decent too! 😀
