Another of your novel videos Roger which makes it so different from those of other vloggers. Yes you need at least one night in Newcastle and maybe two nights in York. Good to see railway hotels being featured !
Oh Mate thank you for this exciting trip to London king's cross also thanks for Exploring York it's my favorite place full of history and some nice street names So I've enjoyed it thanks
Glad you got to visit York as I love it but only stayed twice, I stay in the premier Inn Blossom Street South and the amount of times I went through The Micklegate, it's also easier to get to the designer outlet compared to the Livingston Outlet near Edinburgh I feel
Never tire of going over the bridge at Berwick, with the views of the Tweed, North Sea. The brief stops at Newcastle, York, gave you a taster for longer stays in both cities. Also good to compare the various train services. Good to note also, that your trains ran on time! Not always the case! Good vlog, Roger. Thanks for sharing. 😊 👍
I love exploring mediaeval structures! I'll be in Ireland again next month and checking out some of the old keeps and walls in and around Dublin. POOOKE!!!
Pretty sure we stayed at a hotel right across the street from Clifford's Tower for Phil and Sarah's wedding in York years ago. Loved York!!!! And I can confirm that the walls go all the way around the old city!
Really enjoyable vlog Roger, I'm looking forward to making three North-South UK train journey's this year by Train and your channel is a providing some nice inspiration!
Another brilliant video Rog. Heralding from Yorkshire I love the fact you went to York, it’s such a beautiful city with a marvellous station. Thinking of railway hotels, I know I mentioned the Queen’s in Leeds but let me throw a curve ball in and mention the Midland Hotel in Bradford. I appreciate it’s recently been taken over by Britain’s worst hotel chain (allegedly) but I’ve stayed there and it’s worth a punt because it really does show how grand some of these hotels used to be.
Cheers James. Bradford is a good shout as it’s somewhere I (sadly) forget about and probably lump it in with Leeds. The Midland should be interesting as a result because it’s a bit off the grid. 😀
Great video. I like when you said “fantastic entrance” in York and the grumpy lady on the bench really added to the vibrancy. 😂

Thanks Alex - much appreciated. Had forgotten how much there was to see in York. 🏰
What a fantastic trip, you packed so much in. Brave decision to change twice, but the railway did you proud today! Great video mate.
Thanks Steve. I've been lucky on the trains recently. Probably overdue a big delay or cancellation soon! 😂

Thanks so much for watching. Love York - need a longer visit! 🏰

Thanks Alan. Glad the trains were on time given the tight timings! 😊
Glad to see you have had another successful trip! l'm looking forward to seeing more of the railway hotels!
Thanks so much. It's been hard to find availability TBH and some of the prices are eye-watering - but I'll get there!😀
Thank you ❤

And s few pints of Guinness too?
Good video again Roger.... Richard in Newcastle
Thanks Richard - still need to do that Royal Station Hotel review video! 😀
Great video, Rog! Nice to see you tried a variety of operators here! All the trains you travelled on here are Class 80x's!
Cheers, Reese. 😀
Nice roger another cracking video 🏴
Cheers! Thanks for watching.

Thanks Betsy - what a place for a wedding! And what a place to stay, too! 😀
Great video, as always. Thanks!

Thanks Jett - I really enjoyed making this one and the train companies were good to me! 😂
You need to spend a lot more time in York I think and go to e.g. the York Castle Museum near Clifford's Tower.
The visit definitely made me realise how much there is to see. I could probably spend all day in the Railway Museum! 😀
🔥🔥🔥
That's how I felt after walking around sunny York in a winter coat! 😀

@@RogEdwardsTV yes it is but it is situated right next to Bradford Forster Square station so access is simple and it’s a lovely building inside.
I recommend trying the Metro in Newcastle. Why don’t take the yellow line to the seaside town of Whitley Bay 😊
Good call. I’d also like to go to Ocean Beach Pleasure Park at South Shields. 😀
@@RogEdwardsTV Oh yes, I never been to that pleasure park, but it sure is on my bucket list (a neverending list) 😎
Wife and I are coming there in September. We are staying at a castle hotel. Does waverly have a rental car location??
They have rental cars at Waverley at the very back of the car park. Just one provider, I think. 😊
Great video. Did you happen to spot anywhere to stash luggage for a few hours in York's station?
Thanks very much. I don’t think there is anywhere to leave luggage at the station itself, but there are several places very close by. 😀
@@RogEdwardsTV Excellent, thank you.
You Could have seen the national railway museum in York
I was only in York for 1 hour. Not enough time to do the Railway Museum justice! 😀
