I am so glad you are back to play for us, to share the Dhrupad branch of Indian dharma with us. The other day, as I was perusing Indian universities, I noticed one of them has a section for Indian classical music. At that moment I wondered - not that music is my field at all, I was browsing for religion/philosophy courses - whether musicians in India go through the university system to become professional, or whether they use the gurukulam system, or have private lessons with a guru. Or is it a mixture of all three these teaching structures? Here in Africa, the Western model is followed for Western classical instruments - that is, a teacher when you are a minor, with examinations through the Royal Schools of Music, and then University level. I think I wrote too much. 😁😁
I definitely learnt in the gurukul system. This music can’t be taut/learnt via a course in my opinion. You have to spend a lot of time with the guru to understand certain things which will never happen if it’s bound by a classroom syllabus.
The harmonics and left hand plucking at about 12:00 are very nice.
Hi Madhuvanti. I know that I'm not an expert about music but all I heard and saw was beauty. 😍🙏
Thank you so much 😇🙏🏻 🌸🌸🌸
Shaping it Sista. Subtlety, nuance, modernity, sculpting the aural soundscape. AUM.🙌🙏🏼🫶🌹j.
