I used to get nacho BellGrande meal which cost me over $12.00. That is a nacho’s, a taco, and large drink. Well lately, it seems like the nacho’s became his a lot smaller. I stopped getting them. I would like my nacho’s “Grande”.

That REALLY makes a difference, Fast Food is meant to be fast and cheap. CHEAP, once it's increased to the same price as a sit down restaurant what the hell is the point? I'd rather order at a restaurant and pick it up then to order at Taco Hell.

I have never, ever had a bad experience at Taco Bell. Any time I'm craving it, it satisfies without disappointment. My favorite part about saying, "I love Taco Bell" in public circles, people inevitably respond with, "Gross, why? It's not even real Mexican food!" My response is always the same: "Bold of you to assume I go to Taco Bell for Mexican food. I go to Taco Bell for Taco Bell. Those of us that like it don't go there expecting food from Mexico City."

One good thing about the high food prices, I don't ever waste food anymore. I make sure to only buy what I eat, and err on the side of buying too little rather than too much. (Also don't buy fast food anymore... living vicariously through ReviewBrah.)

Taco Bell in the 80s used to be soooo good. The burritos were filled with more ingredients packed all the way to the end, instead of all those folded over layers of just tortilla. Really sad that everyone born in the last 20 years haven't experienced the food that made all these brands great.
Many food companies have switched out real ingredients for ultra processed ingredients to cut costs. I don't eat any of this. Maybe once every few months I will if I'm in a hurry. Do yourself a favor, just go buy a grill, and some steaks and chops from your butcher. Get some Salmon or Walleye by fishing and grill it up. I did this, and I feel much better and got ripped by eating only real food and strength training.

When I was a 16 (90s) and ate a ton of Taco Bell the Menu was .59 .79 and .99 on pretty much everything. A bean burrito was .59 now its 1.79 and I feel like that are half the size. Bring that back and then you are talkin.
i still love taco bell today, but it is disappointing to see prices go up. in my opinion, however, taco bell still stands as the cheapest fast food place that can fill me up with food I enjoy.

For a while back then McD's had hamburgers for $0.39 on Tuesdays and cheeseburgers for $0.49 on Wednesdays. If you had $5 you could feed a car load of your teenage friends. These new "deals" are insane. At least it makes it easier to say no thanks and eat healthier while saving money.
My store is 2.79 for a bean burrito. I asked upper management why and they didn’t have an answer for me. I was irate. Remember, the workers most don’t feel good about it either, I for sure don’t
Best idea: Review Brah goes on tour trying foods at different local restaurants. Imagine it: you sign up on a website for a chance to be visited, then when the time comes he schedules like 1-15 restaurants in different parts of the country. He goes, meets some people, sees some sights, eats and reviews the food. He gets content, they get exposure and the places he visits get a lil shoutout.
I put the exact same items in my "bag" on the app a la carte and it was over $18.... makes the $7 deal seem a lot better

The goal of these deals is to get you back in their stores, which sadly means all signs point to these deals being short term additions and not here for the long haul. I personally don't think fast food is really worth the price for the convenience over quality anymore.
exactly. You get low quality for medium prices. better to get good quality for a slightly higher price at a proper restaurant. Especially if that means you are supporting a local biz instead of a massive corporation like Yum Brands.

You can buy ready made microwavable burgers for a fraction of the cost, add freshly cut onions and grated cheddar and still save 60% for 'as good' as a burger you'll get from any fast food restaurant.

When i was a yound lad back in the early 90's tacos were .29 cents, and supremes were .39. Chili cheese rollups were a quarter. Those were the days, get high and consume 2,500 calories for $2.50.

Don’t know where you lived but I ate Taco Bell every day of my life in my late teens, quite literally. Tacos, soft tacos and bean burritos were $.59 in 1992. I didn’t eat supreme back then so don’t know the price but I’m absolutely correct about the $.59 price

What I don't get about these meal deals is, if they're happy with the profits selling these items at "55%" discount, why don't they just lower their prices across the board by like 30%? That'd draw in SO much business for any fast food place
They don’t want more business. They want more money via larger profit margin. Why sell 10 tacos for $10 when you can sell 3 tacos for $10?
Not only is the impact greater per sale but you’re saving money by not having to make 10 tacos. Can cut taco making expenses by not needing as many employees or locations.
A lot of the meal deals use the apps. People with time use the deals, people with money not to worry about it pay the normal price.
It's called laddering and coupons do the same thing. They are a form of targeted advertising to price-conscious consumers, while still getting full profit from the consumers who don't watch those things.
In addition, they get data from the apps (or sales data from menu deals) about where they are facing the most and least price pressure, which helps them 'optimize' their prices by region. They can therefore raise prices where they can get away with it.
It's a bit like what you are saying, but more targeted and data driven

Back in 2010 was my favorite Taco Bell meals, the “Cantina” tacos. Fresher tortillas, fresh cilantro and onion, a slice of lime, and fresh salsa. I would love the carne asada tacos. Of course in no way they compare to authentic Mexican tacos, but it was a quick copy cat option.

As someone who used to work in fast food, He must have gotten his meal prepared during a slow period. That's when you can take your time and make sure portions are correct, flavorings are correct, the wrapping is correct. You can't do that when they want 20 sandwiches in 2 minutes

I went to taco bell on the 4th of July and they did the best they ever did that day. I got the luxe cravings box and I modified my 5 layer into a quesarito and they actually wrapped it in the foil which was so cool

If i were to get the items in the box individually:
Chalupa Supreme: $5.20
Beefy 5 Layer: $4.50
Nacho chips and cheese: $3.00
Large Drink: $2.90
Total: $15.60 (not including tax).
So, $6.50 is an amazing value and after McDonalds raised their prices, it's in my opinion the best value deal out there right now.

@@dan4500 I was referring to inflation and voting for people who continuously make decisions with devastating financial consequences for our country. You all complain yet still keep voting for the same people. That being said, you absolutely can and should stop eating at restaurants. At least as long as they charge ridiculous prices like this. Can you not cook for yourself? Can you not take an hour on Sunday and make meals for the week ahead and freeze them?
This is the first place I go for informative, honest and most of all classy reviews of all things fast food. Whether it be the cost, the quantity or the quality, unless our beloved Reviewbrah gives it theses seals of approval, I don't waste my money.

Taco Bell now costs as much as an actual sit down Mexican restaurant where I can also order Beers, Margaritas, and get free chips and salsa before my food arrives, so there is no point ordering from them anymore. I will never go back until their prices go back down
It costs more than some. There’s a local one by me that has a $5 lunch menu, they give basically unlimited chips ofc too, and fills you up just fine

The minimum wage now in NYS is $15 an hour, and the same meal will run you $12.19, which is a $2.81 difference between minimum wage and the meal now. In 1998, it would have been a $2.41 difference, so really, not all that much.
My niece is a manager! She never thought she’d be there but they let her do her college online and allow her to work whenever! She has only great words to say! ❤❤
Taco Bell is very tasty when it's fresh and well made. If they could become consistent in those two things, they would be so much better.

im happy fast food has become expensive. i stopped eating it like 2 years ago and i am in great shape because of it. i didnt even think i was eating fast food that much but even just a few times a week will really destroy your diet. last time i had fast food was probably last year

The $5 deal was one "premium" entree a bean burrito a crunchy taco, side and drink. This one (I got for $7) has 3 more-premium entrees. At my regular TB, they food was fully loaded and fresh. We ate in! It is a good value!!!!
No, the $5 dollar deal before was the premium entree, AND the 5-layer burrito, crunchy taco, side and drink. Hell i remember being able to change the taco to the dorito one for free. This is not good value compared to before.
When I was a kid and worked for my grandpa's handyman company we ate taco bell every day, and when he would sit down he would always say "time for a taste treat delight" for some reason, maybe mostly as a joke, I dunno. I miss when Taco Bell actually was a taste treat delight.

the thing I love most about Taco bell, and have always loved, is that out of all the big name fast food places, Taco bell feels like the only one that still has fast food prices, for fast food quality, where as McDonalds, Jack in the Box, Wendy's, and even Burger King, are all charging more and more every year, but the quality isn't going up, and in fact I'd say it's going down, while yes Taco bell's prices have also been going up, they've still managed to keep it lower than most other places, I can feed myself for $16 bucks at Taco bell, and that's even using door dash delivery, but everywhere else is usually $20+ for the same amount of food, or even less food usually, I grew up with Taco bell being the only fast food place my family could comfortably afford, so even as a kid it was cheaper than the other fast food places, and I hope it stays that way

I used to always get the combo: it was 2 Gordita Supremes a drink and a soft taco. Now, they don't have Gorditas anymore, so the closest thing on the menu is a Chalupa combo instead. I went a few weeks ago to check it out... My bill was almost $20, the only change I made was upgrading from beef to chicken in the Chalupas. So yeah this box is an absolute bargain for today's price standards

That's not what caused the price increase. Menu items were $.39 in the 90s and the minimum wage was $7/hr. By your logic, now that employees are getting paid $15/hr, these same menu items should be $.78, but they're not. They're $3.

I think the $5 box is still better, but the $7 box is still better value than some of the other fast food chains. Fast food is supposed to be fast and cheap, but nowadays it feels slow and expensive. The build your own cravings box for $6 is still an "ok" deal in my area. It was a buck less in 2020 and they gave you another hard or soft taco with it

@@invarticfn get the app they have an online exclusive 6 dollar box with a chalupa/cheesy gordita crunch/crunchwrap, 5 layer burrito or some other stuff, chips and cheese, and a drink. its pretty good

I would have to say, that’s a pretty solid box considering I like all three of those items individually, it’s a bit more food that I would typically eat in a meal, but I would certainly consider this. I probably save the beefy five layer burrito for later, they do pretty well in the microwave, use a damp paper towel to retain moisture. The chips and dipper underwhelming, but it’s fine.

I remember when crunchy tacos were .39 cents and the beefy 5 layer was .79 cents. And they want to act like 3 dollars worth of taco bell food is a good deal at $9. Please. I'll avoid until I can get a 12 pack of crunchy tacos for 4.99 like it used to be....and should be.

i still cry over the fact that when the beefy 5 layer burrito first came out, they were $.89 and they were filllled, not full of tortilla. drove over 30 minutes away to get one or two

The ones that were $5 didn't have the double stack taco which is on their value menu for like $2 so basically the same as the box with getting the taco added. I always got the cheesy gordita crunch instead of the chalupa on that $5 box tho and you can't swap it for that on this luxe box.

The five dollar tacobell box used to be a thing before all these other places started doing it. That was back before everything was expensive as hell. And came with all that stuff you mentioned. How cheap they won’t even make it five dollars again lol
