I was surprised at how Devin's advent finished too. It's absolutely gorgeous! I'm gonna do the anthology throw with mine. I think it will showcase it beautifully. I can't wait to see you at the retreat. Ive barely started my Grapevine sweater too. Hoping we both get them done.
Happy New Year! I was rather sick over Christmas - muscled through my music responsibilities, then crashed on Christmas afternoon. Much better now and would like a redo. Son is going back to his home today (he coughed all week too) and I’m going to have the rest of the week to be lazy, eat good food, and Craft whatever I feel like, or work a jigsaw puzzle (usually happens Christmas week but didn’t this time). After that, I’m up for some accountability partnering to make me finish some wips.
It's never fun to be sick, but it's even worse when it happens on a holiday. I'm glad all was not lost to the illness. I'm glad you're in for accountability!
I am a big fan of accountability with knitting. I had helped me immensely in 2024 when I went from 23 WIPs to 4. I am already making plans for 2025 and need accountability to not get derailed.
Hi Beth, I also adjusted the neck on the Grapevine sweater. I cast on one of the smaller sizes and then increased to my intended size. I’m pleased with the results as I’ve tried it on so far. I’m looking forward to seeing how yours goes. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I am swatching for the Lourdes sweater as I warch, and I think I'll be casting on My Favorite Adventure this week. I'm intrigued by the thought of an accountability thing, but I'm also not much of one to join in on things 🤔 😊
Multiple sweaters at the same time? You're a girl after my own heart. I'm also not much of a joiner. Nor am I much of a finisher. I'm more of a starter. Now off to see what I'm missing with this Lourdes sweater.
Happy New Year Beth! I always start a Mother Bear on January 1. I have a knit cardigan sweater and a crochet blanket on the needles. Beyond that I have no idea what I want to knit next!
I'm sure something will come up to entice you into your next project. I just looked up Mother Bear. Is it the one sent to children in Africa? I had never heard of it before. What a great charity organization!
Accountability: I prefer to set my own project deadlines, but they are usually arbitrary and I’m not great at meeting them. I tend to push myself a little harder to finish projects when I need to share a photo for a knit-along, or wear it to a specific event. When I “hosted” a knit-along last year, that really made me feel like I had to finish my project on time. Is that something you would find as motivating as a test knit? I am hoping that you will do “March To The Finish” again in 2025. 😊
Good question. I'm not the best where knit alongs are concerned. I didn't even start the Burra Cowl, for example. My perception of an accountability buddy (or group) is where each person sets their own goals, and the buddy and/or group cheers them on and encourages them whenever they stumble. A little friendly reminder about personal goals can be all it takes to finish something. March to the Finish is on my radar.

The Anthology Throw is a good idea. That'll be pretty! The retreat is only a month away. Happy dance!
Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year to you, too!

Me too! Happy New Year!

Did you have an accountability buddy this year, or did you hold yourself accountable? That's a great accomplishment!
@ Tabitha (Cabot Cove Knits) and Shauna (Shauna Stitches) helped hold me accountable. Shauna did well with finishing a lot of WIPs in 2024.
It's great to get that kind of support!

Happy New Year! I'm excited to see how your sweater turns out.

@@pandemicknitter Yes that is the one! I have made 22 bears so far! It's an easy pattern and fun to change up the yarn for each one.
