  • Ram duallies are truly designed to tow. However when you add an RV camper that adds a significant amount of weight over the axle, not to mention if you choose to tow a trailer additionally it compounds weight challenges. In this video we go over some items that will help you manage the weight and controlling your vehicle when driving it at speed.

    The truss hitch for a 3500 has holes to mount the Big Wig saw bar is so slick it is fabulous how it looks like factory in stall.

    I put one on my 05 Dodge 3500 4 door long bed dullay and I just threw that frame mount away because there is a hole on each side of 20K super truss had a hole to bold your end link and is so simple and looks like custom or factory and I will try to get a picture to show how slick it is .

    Great product and a set of Bilstein shocks at least to replace the ones in the video will greatly enhance the handling.

    I am looking to add a sway bar to my 2021 ram DRW. Hellwig Customer Service told me they don’t fit with the Torklift Superhitch models after 2018. What year ram do you have here and did you have any figment issues? Thanks for sharing!

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  2 роки тому

      I'm pretty sure this was a 2018 truck. As an alternative you can install Timbren load cushions and preload bads for the helper springs.

    you seem to know your stuff.
    Can I ask for your opinion? have a gmc canyon duramax, with a slide in Scout camper (approx 1000lbs). I installed a set of Timbrens. Just bought a Hellwig sway bar and that defintitely helps. We are not doing any serious off roading, but we do go off the beaten path. My question is about shocks. Wondering if Bilstesin 5100s would be adequate, or should we size up to the 6100s for the front and the 5160s for the rear? Any informed opinions apprecaiated! thx

      @AnthonyJ350  7 місяців тому

      I love the 5100s. I have 5160s in my 1500 Silverado and work great.
      The bigger shocks have more fluid and will disapate heat better. If you move slow like everyone else off road 5100s are perfect.
      Just make sure whatever shock you purchased, it's spec'd to the ride height of your truck.
      Is the truck leveled?

    I just installed my hellwig rear sway bar today on my 2012 Ram 3500 single rear wheel. I have a 855s lance truck camper. The installation didn't go well due to having a torklift magnum 30k hitch on the back. (I noticed you have one as well and you didn't have the problem I did.). I can only assume you didn't have the problem I did, because yours is a long box, as mine is short box. The torklift hitch is in the way and I could not install the u-bolts over the frame for the sway bar links to connect to. I had to modify my mounts and weld them to the torqlift receiver hitch. It wasn't a huge problem. If mine was a long box I wouldn't have had to do this. I have not drove the truck yet with camper in back. But I will in a few days, and I'm sure it will help. I also added airbags 2 years ago, that made a night and day difference! But still hated the cross wind, and passing semi trucks because of body roll. Great video!

      Hey any update on how it drove after the install ?

    • @neb4x4
      @neb4x4 3 роки тому

      Drove great! Only 1 issue, sense I have the torkloft hitch, I had to modify it for sway bar end links to bolt on. With that being said, if camper or gooseneck trailer is in, I have to have the bags inflated. Otherwise the sway bar hits on the exhaust and rattles. But once bags have air in them, or no weight is on truck it’s fine.

      @Nimesh222 3 роки тому

      @@neb4x4 would you say it’s worth purchasing for truck camper owners , like how much of a difference in handling and stability. Does it stop you from doing usual 4x4 trails at all ?

    • @neb4x4
      @neb4x4 3 роки тому

      In my opinion with my Ram 3500 and Lance 855s, it’s a must! As with the airbags. It made a huge difference on the interstates and highways. With crosswinds to going around semis. Before the swaybar it was almost white knuckle driving on I-80 when passing semis. Now, with the swaybar and airbags, I set the cruise at 75, and don’t have any issue. Even in big crosswinds. Best $ I spent.
