My Loxodon Druid is my favorite thing in the world. She got her "common" name from a young kid who saw her use her trunk as a snorkel when she was taking a bath. Her name is Snorkel (she pronounces it snowco) Radu because the little kid had trouble with saying his w's and r's and "water" came out as "radu." She was tickled pink and loved the name so much that she used it from that day forward. Backstories for Loxodons are so fun to create from everything to their name to their demeanor. She rolled high for Wisdom and low for intelligence so she's an absolute blast.
I have a loxodon druid that fights with angel-folk fighter and before we gained two more players it had played out like the world's weirdest buddy-cop movie
I've made a Loxodon Chronurgy Wizard. He is lawful evil and I use him like a manipulator. He comes across as kind and easy going. He tends to manipulate time and use charms to get what he wants from those he encounters. Think of him as Black Beard meets Nick Fury.
I am currently playing a Loxodon Barbarian. It is such a fun character to work with and the trunk has become an endless delight to figure random things out with (such as snorting then spraying health potion for a group heal).
We're starting up a fresh lvl 5 Campaign this weekend. I ended up building out a Loxodon Monk(Way of Long Death). It's a homebrew setting, with my monk coming from a caravan of gypsy loxodons. Can't wait to use the unarmed strikes with the trunk!
I just played this weekend and I was a loxodon paladin that was also in Dimir with the cover identity of Rakdos and was a chaotic good that accidentally murdered 3 goblins in the street and kidnapped two others to lead us to “krenky man” (krenko)
I’ve had an idea to create a character of a homebrew subspecies of Loxodon based on mastodons. She’ll be slightly smaller than the average Loxodon but she’ll be able to withstand cold environments and be a big, muscular, huggable beanbag I learned quite a bit with the video too so thank you!
I'm venturing for the first time into DND and Loxodon really just kind of spoke to me more than any of the other races. Ive settled on making a Loxodon Rogue. I think that would make for an interesting story.
I'm also playing a loxodon rogue, FUN FACT: The word "Rogue" the way we use it, started out as a way to describe elephants that lived away from their herd. "Rogue Elephants" are a really fun way to play loxodon.
I'm guessing Loxodon have excellent memory! I've thought about creating a character and came across these and thought "Huh. Interesting..." My dad was in the circus and loves elephants!
I rolled random stats for an upcoming campaign and got 17 CON 14 WIS as my top 2, with 4 STR and 7 DEX as my worst. Loxodon druid immediately jumped out as the obvious choice, but I think I'm going to go with the damage sponge idea. It sounds like a great idea, especially if i want to try to be a pacifist.
I’m just starting to try DnD and I’m trying to go with a Loxodon ranger who was excommunicated from her conclave (basically a cult) for being “corrupted” by an elf. When I say that I mean she was friends with an elf she met and he taught her how to be a ranger.
I'm going to be playing a Loxodon Wizard soon, which doesn't appear to be a super uncommon combo, if the comment section is anything to go off of. I love that I can dump DEX to further my CON for AC and HP. Starting with 17 CON and picking Resilient: Constitution at 4th level to help with those concentration saves, while giving even more boost to my AC and HP. I am un-squishifying the Wizard.
I’m making my first character and it’s going to be a loxodon wizard with background of haunted one. Does this sound good/bad/fun/boring to anyone with any experience 😂?
these animalistic races are just the thing I am craving and looking for as I've just delve into the world of D&D this year, I'm going out of my way to find ways to play these sorts of races with unique flavor to them and make something interesting and something one-of-a kind with them - the literal last thing i want to do in this sort of magical universe is to play *" **_another kinda-but-not-human-race_** "*
Point of clarification: the trunk cannot be used for magic item that require manual precision. It can, however, be used to simply hold magic items. The important point here is that many magic items mearly require you to be holding them to function.... including the items that add to your to-hit bonus and spell DCs. Normally spellcasters require a free hand to cast spells, and so holding one of these items prevents them from using a shield. A loxodon can do both at the same time. Basically, if you're playing a spellcaster with shield proficiency being a loxodon gives you an extra +2AC in many cases.
Im starting my 1st campaign and i have picked a Loxodon Cleric. I wanted to go Life for heals in a 5 man party. Any tips you could think of to put a twist on a loxodon cleric? P.s. thank you for the naming info. Very helpful trying this class for the 1st time
It depends on what you like, right? Do you want to play a mama that speaks kind words as she heals and gives tea or broth? Or do you want a THUNDERING cleric that shouts "GET UP AND GRAB YOUR SWORD" (followed by elepantine trumpeting". All depends on what you'd LIKE. Have fun!
Thank you for the advice. I went with a dual shield front line life cleric. Someone who put themselves in the danger so others dont have to.RPing as a passive(aggressive) cleric who is abnormally passive but a bull in a china shop when mad. But he feels bad after breaks his prosthetic tusk after he gets angry and carves a new one patiently to atone for his "sin". Thank you for the advice and i wish you the best of luck with life and youtube :)
I refer to this comment 1 year ago on my dual shield loxodon. he has evolved into a 1 lvl dip it barbarian to gain rage. and uses glyph of warding to enchant his tusk with spells. so he can break them in combat to use emergency spells while raging. thank you for the inspiration again. just wanted to show you what you helped inspire me to develop

Oh god why didn’t I realize that you could do that 😳😳
Thanks man, I'm currently building my first character now, and he's gonna be loxodon druid.

Whats her name?
@@SkullSplitter her family name is “Phoruumpha” but she goes by Biscuit
@@bocar4127had a similar idea of making a mammoth loxodon path of the giant barbarian

My favorite OC of mine was a Loxodon cleric - played her for about half a year
I'm also playing a loxodon rogue, FUN FACT: The word "Rogue" the way we use it, started out as a way to describe elephants that lived away from their herd. "Rogue Elephants" are a really fun way to play loxodon.
But you are so BIG. How do you hide? lol
Thinking of making a Loxodon Paladin of Helm. Seems fun 🤩

Selesnia are basically the Tau from Warhammer 40k
I play a Loxodon Monk and it has worked out pretty well so far.

I had a concept for a mammoth thundra barbarian... from Tarkir instead of Ravnica...

I enjoy these videos. They are very informative and helpful. :)
Totes agree!

I thought id be safe from smothering tithe in a dnd video, but alas...
There is no escaping.
I’m planning on playing a Loxodon rune knight fighter in an upcoming campaign
Currently building a loxodon paladin
What are you going to name them?
Loxodon mammoth variant barbarian flavor bear totem as a mastadon add cold resistance have him be frozen from a primitive planet era
What is the "unity domain cleric?"
It's the Order Domain or Peace Domain.
Firbolg vs. Loxodon, who would win in a fight?
Could you name a Loxodon Aerimogorious or Gabrecx?
Im starting my 1st campaign and i have picked a Loxodon Cleric.

Crazy Idea: What if a Loxodon was built as a “Path of the Giants” Barbarian?
Loxodons remind me of my Indian culture and religion, so I just use simple Indian names. One of my favorites is Keshav.
Which book are the Loxodon in? Are they in XGE or are they in the guide to Ravnica?
Guildmasters Guide to Ravnica!
