Having infinite jumps underwater really makes trudging through the water sections much more bearable, not to mention being able to fly around at top speed with the drill wisp. Still the best water level Sonic has ever had

There’s something so inherently emotional behind some of the tracks like this one, the main theme and Tropical Resort Act 1. It feels as though for some reason this game has the most emotionally-driven plot of all the sonic games I’ve played.

I remember getting the wii, and going to a shop to get a few games with my dad. He grew up with sonic and decided to buy sonic colours for me as a gift so I could experience sonic as well. This was a big deal itself, my parents made sure I worked for everything I got and my dad deciding to randomly buy me something was exciting. That made me even more excited to try it out. And it didn’t disappoint! For an extremely late first proper video games experience, I’d say the wait was worth the wait for how novel the first few games I got were. When we turned it on and played the first level, and sonic was sliding along the pipes both me and my dad were just so impressed. I have great memory’s playing sonic colours with my dad, we lost him a few years later so I have an emotional connection to this game and how much fun we had with it.
