man this really gives me the early 2010s vibes when I first got my FJ. everything was on the forums, no social media, it was still CB radios, and the vehicle builds weren't so crazy. unfortunately i've never been to an FJ summit. but fortunately this feels like taking me back in time!
Thanks for the video. I had to cancel my plans just before the reservations came online. I sure hope life allows me to go next year. Thank you to the RMTR crew.
Such a great event and great people! It really was well done and I enjoyed myself and learned a few new tings. That safety briefing Eric gave was outstanding.
Wishing I could have made it for the inaugural event for the Round up. James even messaged me to do Trail Leading, but I couldn't get out of work that week. It looked like everything was super beautiful this year too. Thankfully I could make it to the last year of FJ Summit and I was a trail leader that year too.
Hey! We're growing it a little bit next year, I can always use more trail leading help. Also I either need to open a boudin shop up here in Denver or get a more steady supply haha
I'm one of the event organizers, thanks for the compliment! It was so much work, hopefully future years are mostly cut & paste for the hard stuff with a few tweaks here and there. It wasn't solely up to me, but I can say that nobody in our organizing committee really pushed for a raffle. The Summit raffle by the end was a spectacle, and not always family friendly. I know that it was a huge money maker for Summit though. I doubt we'll ever do one, but if it's something the sponsors really want we'll have that discussion.
Saw James on TFLoffroad. Bought one of his Thor Lightning systems for air down and air up. 10.6 cfm in 5 minutes all 4 wheels. :-) Hope ya'll can make it down to the Toyota Texas Jamboree sometime. First weekend in May every year. Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area near Gilmer in east Texas.
Hey, James here! I don't own Thor's Lightning, that was a sponsored video from TFL and Roman just asked if I wanted to run Red Cone that day. The Thor's Lightning guys are local here in Denver, I went to their shop to check out their product before the video and it's honestly the fastest portable compressor I've ever seen. CO2 per tire for me was like ~45 seconds, it's crazy to think that compressors are getting nearly as fast. Waiting for my Viair 440 to die then I'm going to buy one of theirs with the digital controller. The ability to fill all 4 and walk around checking on everybody else is huge.
@@jimmy-buffett Agreed. I have the VIAIR 400P. Great compressor with 100% duty cycle, but at 2.3 CFM (I think) it was just too slow. I have 33" tires and it takes 4 min and 15 seconds to air up each tire from 17 to 38. So add some time to switch tires so looking at a minimum of 20 minutes. I was starting to get whipped by the amount of time. I also was using the Stans air deflators and I could not for the life of me get them all set to 17. Kevin with Lifestyle Overland even had a video on how to set them and still no go. I drove at 17 psi from near Stoney Pass all the way to Southfork just because we didn't want to spend 20 minutes airing up because we were tired and it was getting dark. I do like the set it at 38 and let it rip until it shuts off feature too for the Thor. VIAIR needs to step up and make a higher CFM compressor. Also, Ozark Overland Adventures did a review too on the same product just rebadged. It worked great for him but it was lime green and at the time there was no 10% off coupon. So I bought Thor and then later he added the 10% coupon. Too late. And lime green? LOL I like the red.

I was hoping this would come back, thank you for doing this video. :)
My wife and I plan on being at next year’s event with our 2012 TTSE from Illinois!

Thanks for the info!! Gonna try to make it next year.
They did a really good job on this. Better than the summit in a lot of ways! I do miss the raffle even though I never won anything. Lol
