I ended up installing the Northwoods Performance 1.5in lift spacer up front and the 1in on the rear. Combined with a set of Sach struts my Rav rides smooth. I'm gonna replace the rear spacer with NWPs 1in springs in the near future
What!?! I didn't know you did this. The RAV4 looks totally BOSS now! That father-in-law of yours seems like a smart dude. I totally want to do this on my Kia Forte.
How was it? Did it not cause damage to the cv as the height increases? Planning on doing it but not sure if it will hurt other moving parts and might shorten life of other parts.
Very Nice. Very cool ride (love that color) and great video. I would have bought new complete struts, put the spacers on and swapped whole. Be interested in how CV joints are holding up and mileage.
I looked into those as well! Awesome softroader but the RAV4 could tow more! Excellent adventure vehicles CRVs can make. Plus you can turbo them if you know what you are doing
@@CreativeMechanic the v6 engine was used in a lotus and they pair it with a supercharger, I saw guy who got himself said supercharger and put it in the rav4!
@Creative Mechanic , ReadyLift website lists the part number as 53200 instead of 5320 for the 3rd gen model years. What is the main difference in the kits?
Looks dope!! I just started driving and was lucky enough to get 2010 rav4 and i love it! I am planning on going with the northwoods performance lift kit, but i wanted to ask what rims and tires are those?
Hey sorry to comment on a old video!! Your content inspired me to pull the trigger! My question is though did you have any experience with your cv joints binding while having this kit installed?? I have just installed the kit on my Gen 3 Rav4 V6 limited AWD (125k miles) and I am experiencing some harsh vibrations up front at 20mph to 25mph, and then at 75mph+ when accelerating . I have all new front and rear suspension components, and has been aligned plus tires balanced. It has the OEM cv axles😅😅and I am wondering if replacing those could remedy this issue!!!! Thoughts??? p.s. I know they'll wear premature but who doesn't love a lifted Ravioli🤩
I do know that some thread lock doesn't allow it to lock completely and be more like anti-seized. Yes, anti-seized is pretty messy, but at least you know that you won't struggle that hard when access it again. I'm pretty spoiled with power tools and my dad always tell me to hand tightened at when bolts and nuts are snug.
Had this kit on my RAV4 for 2 years, the driver side swaybar endlink braket kept bending and rattling like crazy... The Rav4 being such a rough ride and uncomfortable seats I ended up taking the lift off and selling it. It wasn't really all that good for offroad other than dirt roads.
Hello man! Loved the video! Good content too, I love your channel! Quick question though, mind sharing where you got your rims from? Or perhaps a brand name? I'd love to buy the same ones!
I have a cool tip right from the get go , sorry but i have to say this , when releasing wheel nuts , instead of pulling upwords and risk hurting youre back , put the wheel brace on the other side of the nut and simply stand on it , you will find it much much easier to get them off . when you pull up on them that pressure is transferd to youre body , i always try to work smart not hard ..... plus a sore back is a great way to find easy ways to do things .
I have a lift on my rav4 and the brackets for the sway bar link keeps breaking. Am on my 3rd one, Last one lasted about 10 months. And i dont take it off road. Any ideas what i can do to avoid this?
I have a 2012 RAV4 that I would love to put a little lift kit in.... think I need this kit... how much of a bigger tire could you put on after this lift kit ???
I know this comment is a year old, but I'm also curious. From a comment below it looks like he went to 245/55R18's. He stated one inch bigger providing 1/2 of ground clearance.
Wow bro what a clip. Wish i can take my rav to you. 1 question tho can i still put those kind of wheels and tires on it even without a lift? Mines a 2015.
hi i have v6 rav4 2010 limited like those rims and tires. can i know the brand both of them and is it possible i can put them without lift? ty in advance for your reply 😀
I'm curious as to how the ball and CV joints lasted and how is the ride? You're adding height on top of the strut so you are removing suspension droop to achieve the lift, but in doing so your making the ball joints and cv joints continuously operate a a more extreme angle potentially causing them to fail sooner. That's how it was in my truck when I had such a beast installed. Also, to anyone that does this, these are NOT LOADED ball joints, meaning the weight of the vehicle does not cause the ball joint to compress vs one that is loaded. This means that if the ball joint fails, it separate causing the wheel to lift away from the control arm vs a loaded one that keeps it all compressed so it will not separate. I've seen it happen a good few times so, keep an eye on your ball joints.
You mentioned when your truck had such a beast installed. Was that beast a 2" lift? Just curious... Angles are the key. There's a big difference from 4-6" lifts and a 2" lift.
I have a slight shimmy when I get around 6o mph after installing this kit on my 2016. Also the bracket connected to the driver side sway bar link is bent. Any ideas?
What would you choose for rav4 2018 the ready lift kit or eibach coils for longevity of the vehicle, and axels? And would you do the wheel alignment after installation of either?
Good, you own some 1,5 inches. And now how do you expect to properly balance your front and rear axles so your tires be in norm and not to be like .... \ / that ?
I use to LOVE doing things like that-- but have to PAY someone now. I got mashed between 2 trucks in 99 an STILL getting over it-- so doing something like this is no longer going to be possible for me. I want one of these.. and was thinking of a bolt on supercharger too-- (just for gentle boost-- a root supercharger) and that will cost too..

Thanks for the video brother.
You have helped me one step closer to my newly lifted horse i call Tory, and others call it a 2010 rav 4
You make it look pretty easy. I have a 4th generation RAV4, and the ground clearance is atrocious. Maybe I'll try this lift.
Great jack stand tip!
Thanks bud. Without this video I couldn’t have lifted by 2017 rav4 hybrid lol
Just letting me know that the lift kit from the post 2013 model fits our MKIII is worth it’s weight in gold. Genius! Thanks buddy, great lift

Need someone to do it for my RAV4. Looks awesome 💯
It looks very nice on the road. Love it
Alabama doesn't get much rust! Looks great, currently looking for a v6, I like my 2012 rav but I could use the 3500lb tow rating of the v6.
Go for the highlander 5000lb tow rating.

10k miles later no issues. The thing is CV joints are gonna go bad eventually without a lift.. if I’m replacing at 40k instead of 60k I’m ok with that
