I love how you can tell it actually doesnt mind being held becuase it runs towards your hand. Usually when people "hand tame" an animal it's really just the aninal still being scared but tolerating it.
Mr. Nibbles yeah man that’s how his parents were. But I hatched this white male and fed it from my fingers for months. Every day. They are still skittish but at least not crazy !
I saw some button quail for adoption, but was told they could die from stress if I handled them. They were so small!!!! I guess it is really hard to hand tame them. And you have to do it early
Sarah K you mean the water and feed holders? They are literally from the dollar store. I add a “j” shaped wire at top to hand off the side of tank. And reinforce with rubber bands so they don’t spill everything.
tiny truffles17 the other one wasn’t born in my hands. It’s a female from a breeder. That bitch was horrible to take care of. The get startled and jump and hit the top of the cage until the tops of their heads bleed. The white one was a unicorn.
@@Zawan oh that happened to me recently. I just bought three of them new and wanted to give them food and water. Then one went full frenzy and was bleeding. Luckily he didn't die of brain concussion and now recovered but still scared of me to death. So I stopped going close to them except for providing food
Zawan haha yeah, it's like a large finch. What is the exact breed? I looked up button quail on wikipedia and it says that there are many types of button quail and or many different sizes. It's really cool, i think I need to get a few haha.
In all honesty I don't know. Just went to a local guy from Craigslist that sold quail. And on the way out I saw these little guys. Got a few. They laid some eggs. Then I incubated the eggs and got this little guy. But I think button quail is button quail. They different markings have different names but it's all button quails.

@@alcarandos you need to have a top that’s not a metal screen. Take the metal out and use a fabric screen. I dealt with the same. Good luck friend!
How did you get him so tame?
Just kept giving it feed from my wet finger tips when it hatched until it was an adult. they are just skittish naturally though
Coco The Quail If it was truly scared it would’ve ran away from the hand.
At that age your better off training your quail using treats, you will get better results..
