I have and loved/love both. Imho scoop wins. It's one of the most original luglife-est there is. It's not the prettiest when full. But it keeps me so organized. I even put a water bottle in there today.

I have the Scoop in Riverwalk Black and just received the Ranger with the Rodeo Wallet in Lily Sand for Summer. Can’t wait to transfer my items to the new bag.
I have both and I prefer the Ranger. I like the Scoop but once you starting filling compartments it bulks the bag so much that some of the other compartments become almost useless. When the scoop is bulked up like that i cant wear it as a shoulder bag. It slips off the shoulder. I need to use it only as crossbody. I love the Ranger because of it’s wide opening. I love that i can fit a bottle of water in it. When using the Ranger i utilize my transport envelopes.

I spent over an hour trying to figure out which of these 2 Lugs to get. I was so happy to find you had the comparisons! TYSM! It is Ranger for me (perfect to take to work) It will give me the room I need for my Day Designer appointment calendar, (I am still old school) my diabetic supplies, my makeup, water bottle, and still room for more. I am a new subscriber. I have changed from Coach to Lug Nut. I already have 4 pieces and still adding.

Lug nut TV I ordered my Ranger in HG. I was hoping the new colors released would include botanical black but sadly it didn’t. So it was back to the classic heathered grey which is 99.9999% of my collection. 😅😅😅
I have the Boxcar also & love the style, always liked the North/South purse with a top carry-handle. I find it very very square & boxy. It has underwire all around & it's a good size & pockets but uncomfortable & it jabs into side or thigh no matter how much you adjust the strap & it really looks like it just sticks out. I'm loving the Ranger!! That's why they sold out & it's come back in Sept 2019. Get it while you can. (PS I think the Boxcar is being discontinued. IMO, Lug has way too many to choose from that are similar, they need to narrow it down)
I think you may be right! the Ranger isn’t going anywhere after being so popular, but I don’t hear as much “buzz” about the Boxcar. I do actually plan to do a comparison video on those two, soon!
I have them both. I bought them together. The ranger with the wallet deal in heather gray (and a trolly). And the scoop in heather blue. We’ll see. I really want a bag to hold a 15” laptop for work that’s not a backpack. Any suggestions?
I own the scoop and it's frustrated me a little. I tended to forget where I put things, and I constantly looked in each pocket, so I've stopped using it. I ordered the Ranger tonight. Someone said they could fit their DSLR camera and a lens in it. I'm going to London in June, so it maybe perfect for me. I have a lot of Lug bags and I tend to prefer them over other ones.
Ella Worley a few people feel the same way about the Scoop. I actually do best when I can micro-organize that way so that sort of layout really works well for me. I can imagine it’s pretty frustrating opening the wrong zipper constantly during the day though because you’re trying to find your stuff 😂 Did you end up trying out the Ranger?
Sandra Coulter It was the reverse for me! I saw the scoop and had to have it, but then contemplated the Ranger for a few weeks when they released that one! 😂 I think I caved when I finally saw it presented on TV.
Thanks, Jessiee again for another side-by-side. I bought the CO Ranger back in May 2019, and I used it as a hip bag (large hips here) as I wore the PJ CO Packable on my back. I've since gifted the Ranger to a dear friend as my medical needs dictated another pouch to carry, thus making the Ranger not so useable. I just purchased the Camo Sand Scoop and find as you've shown many pockets. The only section that I won't use is the built-in wallet as I prefer to carry my Amazon wallet that has 2 sections for paper money, and 2 zippered sections for coins. The only downfall with the scoop is that I can't carry a bottle of water as I did in the Ranger. But all in all, the Scoop will be nice to carry as I shop w/o having to carry a medium to a large-sized purse. JoAnn LLL Group
maddy7 I agree that it’s a bummer anytime you can’t fit a water bottle in the bags. I believe the scoop is actually the reason I broke down and bought a water flask last year. I didn’t want to keep saying no to bags that I wanted to try just because there was no water bottle pocket. 😂 Do you feel like it suits your needs more than the Ranger does, overall?
I have the scoop and love it. Have thought about getting another in a different pattern but then saw the Ranger and now I think I might want to try that. My only hold out is the Scoop’s built in wallet. The struggles are real for us lug nuts! 🥺🥴
Cherri Quattrini I have both bags & they both have their good qualities. The built in wallet in the Scoop is fantastic because there’s a good place for everything including dollars. The Ranger has a nice pocket on the front but my only negative is no real section just for dollars. .. so I’m on the same page as you. Still love the Ranger as well though. Be curious to know if you ended up trying it out as well. 😊
Just wanted to add to my last comment, in case any lug nut is interested, I can fit my iPad mini with folio keyboard case in both bags. However, it fits into the Ranger much better because it doesn’t bulk it up. In the Scoop it adds to the bulk and puffs it out so it becomes more like, as you described, a “football.” Keep up the good work.
Thank you! Yes, they big cavern in the Ranger is A W E S O M E for preventing any “bulking.” Like you, it’s my choice as well for when I have to carry around “extra” stuff. Once the Scoop pockets are full, the bag becomes almost full, which I actually don’t mind, because I love having a pocket for everything. But the Ranger does not have that issue. Once you fill every pocket, there is still a ton of room in the main interior.

Sure! What size laptop do you have? The Puddle Jumper Duffel is a great alternative to a briefcase, and has a laptop sleeve. The Minibus is a bit smaller, but also has a laptop sleeve, and 2 other main compartments to help separate your stuff. I am able to fit a laptop in the Whirl tote, if you wanted something more like a handbag, and if you need something that can fit a 17”, and need a duffel, look into the Steamboat. I am 95% sure it can fit a 17”.
Would you do a video telling the difference between the puddle jumper, the mini puddle jumper, and the backpack puddle jumper, and the wheelie puddle jumper2?

Laurie Cl yes! In the Ranger it’s in the front zip compartment. In the Scoop it’s in the compartment with the built-in wallet. If you ever want to know if/where Lug adds RFID protection, head to their site and click on the bag you want to view, then click the “features” tab near the bag’s description. 🙂 Their wallets all have full RFID protection (unless they’re wallets from many years ago) so if you have a Lug wallet it won’t matter which pocket you put it in.

Yes, it can! It can hold my 9.7” iPad Pro, with slim keyboard, but there is no room to spare at the top after it’s in. It’s not the most comfortable fit, but it fits!
