    I ordered the G2, G3, and G4 from Sweetwater. Ended up sending the G2 and G4 back. The G3 is a great all around pedal for classic to heavy in my opinion. Hope this is helpful to those wondering what to get.

    Always love your videos Rabea, long time follower with everything you do from Dorje, Toska, Andertons, Hanna, and Leo, you always sound awesome and so creative. BUT, that bright light in the back corner ( your right) of your studio is killing me, i have to watch your vids with a thumb over that spot. How is it versatile with no presets? Heck, no presets on the pedal would be ok if you could create some with a midi controller. For $250 I expect presets....if not presets....then Midi. I returned mine and bought a Ramble Kismet

      @@alvarg Paying a lot is relative. A Line 6 HX Effects or Stomp will get you 95% of the way there with the same Revv preamp models and various other overdrives that the most expensive Helix has. At this point with multi FX it only makes sense for me to buy particularly unique pedals as I've realised that chasing all these different versions of a very similar sound turns this hobby into a bit of a bottomless money pit.

  • @byronh77
    @byronh77 4 роки тому +11

    I’m kind of torn with these pedals, the pedal itself has a distinct tonality the minute you engage it and lm not talking about the distortion. It’s hard to match it with a really nice clean amp. It’s too compressed. Not very organic. I have the revv purple pedal and by itself it is great sounding distortion pedal.
    But these videos don’t really convey how drastically the revv pedal changes your base tone once you engage it. These are probably fantastic with revvs amps, but IMHO you’re love them or really hate them. The compressed nasally tonality can’t be dialed out with the eq’s no matter what you do. So try one used if can before you buy it brand new.
    Again the revv pedals are excellent drive pedals but are not very transparent organic distortion pedals if that makes sense. Great video though.

    • @zacmedeiros7241
      @zacmedeiros7241 4 роки тому +2

      byronh77 I agree with you, I bought the g3 very nasal mids, perfect for modern metal with humbucker...sold it and went with the g4 instead way less nasal and works great with single coil or humbucker...
      Personally with my amp set clean(fender deluxe reissue and traynor iron horse) the g3 and g4 sounds good in the effects loop, when in front of the amp, there’s so much high end, I can’t seem to dial it out. Bypassing the amp preamp and having the pedal right in the power amp is where I really love the g3 and g4

      @GryynGlo 4 роки тому

      Kasper Fauerby I have gotten myself one now! I’m not really an expert on modulation (like at all, which is why I got this to cover a lot of ground), but it’s a lot of fun, with a really versatile set of effects.

    • @GryynGlo
      @GryynGlo 4 роки тому

      Kasper Fauerby For me it was more of a real estate-thing. It’s a quite small pedal with the option for presets, so for me it was more of a «get this instead of both a pog and a phase 90 and micro vibe» type of situation. When that’s said I do believe that, given enough tweaking and perhaps more knowlede from my part, there are some really killer sounds in this. I managed to make a modulated pitch-shifting sound that felt just like an organ by messing around, which was a lot of fun. My biggest gripe is that the MD-200 doesn’t have a dimension-c like the MD-500.

    Here's the thing. I'm a gigging guitarist. It cracks me up when I hear "versatile".....when a pedal has no presets and no midi. So......in the middle of a gig, you are going to bend over......and remember a setting on your versatile pedal.....change it......and that's worth $250? It's not. No midi.....fine, but for $250......I expect 4 presets. Waste of money
