My first video of yours and its a blessing. Something simple and unique that can be used in so many ways. I love my little swatch dolls I made because of this video. Thank you for making things feel happy and doesn't have to be splotches of swatches. Now I need new paints... lots of them! Thank you!
These cute little characters would look so good if they were turned into little animations. This brilliant video inspired me to do something different when swatching new paints,I have always loved skulls,so came up with little swatch skulls and I draw these to swatch my paints now in a day of the ead style.I like the fact you make what you do so easy to folow and show us that we can do these things too.
The first video that I ever watched on your channel were swatch dolls. From there, my interest in your content and style grew. To see this so many years later brought back a sense of nostalgia. Love your channel!
I adore everything you do but these swatch dolls are so cute......... just looking at the again and all I see are gorgeous children’s book illustrations...... they are just beautiful xx
I just made a fairy one for my newest metallic watercolour set and I love her. I'm going to make two more for my other pallets. One of which I've been using off and on for over 10 years, were handmedowns from my grandparents' old art store (it was art and music, and they decided to consolidate and my uncle now owns a *very* successful music store) so my Winsor and Newton tubes are actually from the 80s! I have some colours I like, dried into a plastic pan with 22 different colours! That is going to be one ELABORATE doll lol. I should probably make a page with multiple dolls to be honest lol. I'll try to put it on instagram for ya, if I get over my current social phobia. I can't seem to be able to handle basic social responsibility these days. I can yell into a void just fine but as soon as anyone has any kind of expectation of me, I want to just run away and hide... anyway that's not relevant. If I post I'll use the hashtag ♡
I'm watching your tutorial while doing some catch up work and your demo and explanations are really easy to follow. I think even I can draw this (I am a crappy drawer), thanks for this video James 😁👍
I just made a new limited colour watercolour palette and literally have the original Swatchdolls tutorial open in another tab, the timing of this is PERFECT
I’ve loved every iteration of the swatchdolls, and the whimsical nature of the current version is adorable. Thank you for sharing the tutorial, I’m drawing some right now, just need to sort the alignment of the legs, mine are a bit ‘lady being sawn in half’ at present 😹😹
I should have added the your last swatch doll tutorial I showed my daughter and she made some fun girls. Can’t wait to show her this one and do it with her!
Hi James. It seems like it's been forever since I've watched one of your videos. Don't know why.🤷🏾♀️ Love these latest swatch dolls. So cute and a great tutorial.❤️👍🏾
How do you label the swatches? ....... do you mix colors and note that or do you just use the plain color with water?.. I ask because I am trying to figure out how to get the best use out of my paints. I can see doing it both ways, but after mixing a lot, it might get confusing to me.... obviously I am new to this!😬🥴.... and probably way over the top O.C.D. And worrying too much. (Fun right? Remember the fun, Kat!😂)....Thank you so much!
