Leon uses the "Sentinel Nine" here, which in game data is an ammo capacity of 19-31 rounds depending on upgrades. In the video.... Leon fires 22 rounds Visibly reloads Fires 14 rounds Cuts away to Chris where we can assume he reloaded at some point Fires 18 rounds So even if he did not reload off screen you could argue his 32 rounds is 31+1 chambered and still within the lore of the game.
Chris would want to had a worthy successor but would accidentally kill his nephew/niece because when Claire's stomach starts to look to boulder like he punches it.

Re8's mode was Raid Mode with a different name and Re4R turned in a super casual Hero Shooter; the only thing sparing Re4R from having the worst Mercenaries is that Re8 exists. If they just made a standalone Mercs game, like a sequel to Mercs 3D, but with Re6's gameplay and more characters, I'd buy that for $60 in a heartbeat. Capcom won't do that though because they're sunk-cost fallacied into the RE Engine and it just can't handle combat this intense, which is why even in Re4R combat is glacially slow and the enemy numbers are greatly reduced, and even then the game still drops inputs.
I counted 22 shots, and given he has what appears to be custom magazines, about half an inch longer than the 20 round extended magazine for a p226, that is perfectly realistic.
At this point he's a government agent who literally reports to the president. The training he would have had since Racoon City would be.. considerable =P Plus experience from the books and RE4. =D

The the prototype that became DMC didn't use Leon. It had an entirely different main character by the name of "Tony Redgrave". Ebony & Ivory have this name engraved as a reference to the original concept, and DMC 5 retcons this by explaining that it was the fake name that Dante used when he escaped his hometown, Redgrave City, to flee from Mundus.
