Samurai Warriors 3 - Shingen's Story 5 - Confrontation at Nagashino

This battle happened, but it goes into what if territory what with Shingen being alive and Kenshin and Ujiyasu coming to support. Actually kind of cool.

So, Dynasty Warriors 9 got announced. Supposedly will be open world.
What do you think?

I like it trying something new, I like the DW stages most of the time so if the "open world" feels as good as the stages then that'll be alright in my book. There's only concept art right now so I can't really make much of an opinion beyond that.
I'm mostly hoping they revamp the movesets and improve on the combat more than I care about the open world aspect though.

Yeah, I can imagine it being somewhat stereotypical open world, not many ways to differ that type of thing from one game to the next. Although open world-thousand peon smashing sounds pretty nice...
As for movesets, I'd much rather see a return to classic DW games, each character with a unique weapon and moveset. Getting tired of this dual weapon nonsense, it takes away the differentiation of the characters. Tbh, EX attacks just don't do it enough.
I think a hyper attack sort of thing like that of SW 4 would be cool, too.

It's very downgraded, but that's the only way you're playing it on PC.
