My all time favourite Sci fit show. A great model and diorama. IMO The Invaders ship is one of the most sinister looking ships around. I wish that some manufacturer would produce a larger more refined kit of this UFO. The old Aurora kit is still dear to my heart however. Great video.
Is there a resister in the circuit for the five bluish leds seen beneath the saucer? I couldn't see one in the circuit in the video. And is this circuit connected to the others - or does it need a seperate power supply?
I had some problems the LED lights. The tall wire was apparently the negative, when I hooked one of them up to a 9 volt battery, it flashed for a second, then nothing. I'm sure it was something I did. Can you help me out?
I know my comment is a little late in the game, but I'm just now seeing this video. The lighting & diorama are fantastic! But, why didn't you install the retracted landing gear on the bottom of the UFO, and paint the ship? The unpainted plastic has the inconsistent plastic swirls in it from the liquid plastic, that was used to pour into the molds, to make the model parts.
Sorry for so many notes! Can you tell me what the light in the top of the ship, the one for 12.95, is called? I can't find it on Ebay, i'm sure I'm entering the wrong name, Thanks scott
Yeah, a bigger version of this kit would be great. I'd like to see one in 1:35 scale - that'd allow lots of nice detail without being overly large and eating up too much shelf space.
Hello, I would like to pay if I could have one of these made by you. You just did such nice work and presented it beautifully. I would like the exact setup as in the video with one exception, no figures on the base. Hope to here from you. - thank you
616Gaming Hi. Thanks for appreciating my work. Right now I'm backed up on projects and commissions. Contact me thru my website, www.scifidragon.net, at the end of Sept. If I can find one of these kits at a sane price, we'll discuss the project then. Meanwhile, have a great summer
Beeltescott Sure. Any electrical wire will due the job. Thin wire, like model RR wire or 'bell wire' work best - it's flexible and easily stripped. Multi-strand electrical wire (like for lamps etc) is not recommended - too thick, harder to solder.
Thanks very much! It turned out well, except I used speaker wire and it was about as bad as lamp wire, way too thick, it worked though, until I glued it together, I think it put too much pressure on it, maybe pulled one loose. I wish there was a way to take the ship apart and redo it. Thanks much. Scott
Beeltescott I haven't been checking in on UA-cam for a while - so I'm a little behind on your questions, sorry. The item you're looking for on ebay doesn't really have a name, just search for 'LED chaser'.Sorry to hear you had problems with the final assembly on your UFO. The kit is somewhat deceptive - it looks like there's a lot more room inside than there really is. I'd suggest trying it again, but have you seen the price of the UFO kit on ebay these days??? - ridiculous.
Ernie N It is ridiculous! I found a new one for 60.00 and grabbed it up. Not that 60.00 is a great deal, but far better than 150.00! I have a picture of the first one, that you inspired, I'd love to show it to you. Shoot me an email to Beetlescott@msn.com and I'll forward you a picture.
Very IMPRESSIVE! Simple and yet very effective. Thank You for sharing your inspiring achievement👏
Looks Fantastic !

Like to see a bigger badder re:issue of the Aurora model kit!

Hello, I'm building my Invaders model, and I have a question. Can i use regular wire for my jumper wire?
Beeltescott Sure. Any electrical wire will due the job. Thin wire, like model RR wire or 'bell wire' work best - it's flexible and easily stripped. Multi-strand electrical wire (like for lamps etc) is not recommended - too thick, harder to solder.
