What a Tiny Triangle Above Your Plane Seat Means
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 тра 2024
- Many of us think flying is a great way to travel, but things can get dull if you wind up stuck on the tarmac waiting for takeoff. While you're sitting there wondering if it would’ve taken any longer just to drive, you might notice a little triangular sticker above your window. Only four windows on each plane are marked this way.
Usually red or black, the decals are just large enough to spot if you're looking for them but easy enough to miss if you aren't. But why are they there? Is it part of a conspiracy? Well, it turns out the answer isn’t quite so dramatic but interesting nonetheless. Especially if you're a plane lover!

SUMMARY:
- If you look closely the next time you're on a plane, you'll realize that the triangles line up with the front and back edges of the aircraft's wings.
- The sticker is there so that the flight attendants know at a glance which windows to look through.
- Many airliners feature a hidden compartment where its exhausted crew can catch up on some much-needed sleep.
- The exact placement of the room varies, but the crew’s quarters are usually found in a small windowless compartment directly above first class.
- Larger planes can feature up to ten bunks, as well as a separate pilot’s quarters directly above the cockpit.
- If you’re flying in a jet made by Airbus, you might’ve noticed a pair of little yellow loops sticking up from the otherwise smooth, white surface of the plane's wing.
- A plane's wings need to be smooth so that they remain aerodynamic, but that makes them pretty difficult to stand on.
- Thanks to this fabulous technological breakthrough, evacuating passengers need not worry about an unfortunate tumble down the aircraft’s wings.
- Airliners need to maintain internal pressure for the passengers to be able to breathe comfortably at high altitudes.
- This tiny opening is known as a breather hole and plays a vital role in keeping you flying.
- Most airliners flying today feature a handrail running the length of the overhead compartments. Their primary function is so that the crew can safely move about the cabin during turbulence.
- The most common complaint people have with air travel is the lack of space. Even if you aren't particularly tall, you've probably experienced this for yourself.
- If you're in the middle seat, well, you're just going to have to deal with getting the worst of both worlds.
- Feel around on the bottom of the armrest, and you’ll find a little button near the hinge. Press it, and you're free to move that pesky armrest out of your way.
- This gives you plenty of room to move around, and is a big help when you’re trying to get your bag from the overhead compartment at the end of your flight.

Here's a question I'd like answered: Does flight staffs' luggage ever get lost/misdirected at all, or at the rate that passengers' luggage does?
Generally no, we usually keep our luggage in the cabin. We often have an overhead locker set aside just for crew use

Two of my cousins moved to Australia and they visited 2 years ago, and they said it was night time when they landed in Australia, so I guess it would be hard to remain conscious when on a plane for a few hours. I cant even survive 4 hours

3:09 there is no Boeing 773, there is a 737. Not trying to be rude, love your airplane video’s
Boeing 737 don't have crew bunks as they're not designed to be long haul, they're probably confusing it with the 777 or 787
773 = 777-300ER
I mean every symbol has a meaning to it just need to pay attention to it

supergalaxygamer 123 I know, but the way he pronounced it I found humorous, did you not?
I did
Never seen any triangles. I seat on the wing seat almost every time I fly.
Me 2..
Watch my song plzz
You should try sitting inside on a seat.
Flight attendants don’t check the wings if the flaps are working 😂 We have a slats/flaps indicator in the flight deck.
I thought the same thing, I'm cabin crew and I have never had to check the flaps for the flight deck 😂
They would do so if something is wrong, that's when those indicators come in handy, especially if a fault occurs during the flight
Siggen the only reason I could think of is a LCD failure. On the 787 at least. Anyways, how could the flight attendants know the correct position of the slats/flaps?
@@marshallhogan3440 teaching the attendants to recognize all the different slat/flaps position probably isn't feasible. But if the flight crew try to engage the flaps, but some error appears, the FAs can help with some simple diagnostics. Is the flaps in the fully retracted position? Are they somewhat extended? Are they flapping around with hydraulic fluid spraying out? These are more like the questions the FAs could help answer by looking out the windows.
If the pilots noticed a bird strike or possible bird strike, they would most certainly ask the FAs to inspect the wing leading edge to look for possible damage. Also the FAs looking at the engines could be useful in diagnosing a engine failure. Some newer aircraft have cameras looking at the engines, so the flight crew can do some of this without the help of the FAs.
Siggen i mean on an everyday flight. Not a failure. Checking for hydraulic fluid is different to checking the position of the flaps / slats. Everything about wing inspection is true, but you have the wrong idea of what I said
I just knew that there are sleeping compartments in airplanes for pilots and the crew

This video is amazing, I did not know that a plane had secrets
Bright side: you might notice a rectangular sticker
Me: ITS A FRICKIN TRIANGLE WHERE DO YOU SEE A DANG RECTANGLE
Is that engine on fire 🔥? 🤔
Yes it is
Why is there a unicorn on the winh
If I had known about the hidden hand rails near the over head compartments, I could have fared much better during the flights! I have mobility problem. The first thing taken away from me when I enter a flight is my cane. I can't walk without a support and I am quite heavy! I feel sorry that I could have disturbed unintentionally so many co passengers by holding on to their seats, as I walked along inside the flight! :(
Useful man!
What I'd like to know [after watching so many Air Disasters episodes] is why on earth can't they figure a way so the pilots can see the engines? It seems they're always oblivious to a big problem. I've told my children who travel much for work that if they see something say something!
It's impractical considering where the cockpit is. And as time went on, more sensors were added to help alert the pilots to issues with the engines and on top of that, there's additional training for both the FAs and pilots.

Research
Why do they need a sleeping space when they literally by law aren't allowed to fly more than 9 consecutive hours.
14 hour flight to Australia? Seems like they could stop along the way for a fresh crew and fuel. If non-stop, then they have to have two crews on board with space for half the crew to rest or sleep.
