I was at this show - my friend was a DJ for WERS and she got to interview them. They were amazing. They were my favorite band that summer along with Book Of Love, I had the cassette spinning in my walkman endlessly and danced to it endlessly at the Spit and The 1270 in my spiked hair and paisley shirts. The show was stellar - except for this woman, Yvonne Gage, although good, she was a tad disappointing..I wanted Shay to be there singing her signature vocals. I think ministry is at its best stuff when frankensteining hybrid between nu wave, metal , electro, its just interesting. High hopes for the last album with barker back on board as his recent lead into gold was more interesting to me than the thrash of recent years
Great!!! And best live judging from this. I'm more familiar with his later work, but he should never regret this - it is outstanding. I could be happily lost forever in that beat.
Al has had a change of heart on the earlier stuff, saying it's pretty good and Ministry would not have made the later music without this era. I found a pre-owned With Sympathy in 2004, I did not know of this time of the band. I was shocked how different yet awesome. Now a fan of all his bands, including Special Affect.
First time I saw them was at the Aragon opening for Madness.... blew me away..... don't care if he wants to admit it or not.... all the early Ep's and" With Sympathy" were amazing... remember the first time my 15 year old self saw him in Wax Trax.... ahhh crushed on him big time....
This stuff is absolutely unforgettable. I too find myself going back to hear it. Some seem to imply Al really wasn't into his interaction with the audience. If true, that may have drained him emotionally a lot. Geniuses do tend to live in a different state of consciousness. And why hide themselves behind the metal cage at those late 80's shows? Just nuiance? Their latter industrial metal stuff is alright but once the shock and awe is passed you can burn the disc.
Al was a genius. It is disappointing that he feels embarrassment about this rather than pride. The first album was amazing.

Yes!
Gawd this is fantastic!!
Thank you for capturing this, it's amazing quality for video from the 80s. Classic Album from the 80's whether Ministry accepts it or not...Bravo!
That British singer on guitar is pretty good... he should stick with it he might get somewhere someday 😊
Fucking LOVE the Front 242 sticker on Al's guitar! Wax Trax!!! Yvonne Gage is a monster in this vid!!!
Fabulous - this was their heyday
I'm curious as to what happened to the female singer. It must have been weird when say Jesus Built My Hotrod came out, and have her say to friends, "Oh, I used to sing in that band"
@ Bent Helical
She is Yvonne Gage. Around this time and a few years prior, she put out some singles, a couple of EPs and had 1 album out.
Here is some of her work from around this time period.

I wanted to tell you... "Can you imagine being there, back in the 80?, (ah, i was) watching this live"...feeling it... I just did - thanks UA-cam awesome~
Also...the girl owned it, and they let her have it!
That soul sister got me worked up sho nuff!
This was so amazing! I didn't know Al can sing. He had an amazing voice.
Stephen George drums & Patty Jourgensen synths sounds really tight & awesome....the bassist has warm punchy funk quality within this Nuwave vernacular....really LOVE this footage oh so very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, I hope you have more of this show and will post it! I'm in the front, near Al :-)
So much appreciation to the uploader for sharing a little slice of history right here. :)
Saw this show, who knew, the channel, used to be my father's warehouse for a tile company,I would tell him that this cold be a great rock club, didnt listen
I liked this album and was probably there.Seen them thru everything
Al Jourgensen looks so good here
That was amazing
Now that is a performance
Amy Mann was a brief member of the band during the recording of this record.
funny i just learned that today,., from the professor of rock Adam
Was she? I had no idea.
Back when Ministry were great!!!
The type of raw energy I wished still existed today
damn how lucky that crowd was
Was here,it was an awesome show!!!# No one stopped partying afterwards,I went backstage with the band🎉
Thought he wasn't good on the guitar??? Lol love this
piece of Art. Beautiful
I bought "With Sympathy" and loved it. Joined the Army and waa waa stationed overseas for 2 years. Came back, heard "Stigmata" thought "Is this the same guys? It is? Cool! Fuck yeah!"
I STILL love Eurosynth Al
Me recuerda la majestuosa actuación de Lisa Fischer en gimme shelter en el concierto en vivo en Amsterdam en el 95
Dos pedazos de cantantes y esta canción es una joya de joyas
Viva Palestina
Can't get enough of this amazing song.....love every minute of it
Love this one with its Talking Heads feel
I think ministry is at its best stuff when frankensteining hybrid between nu wave, metal , electro, its just interesting. High hopes for the last album with barker back on board as his recent lead into gold was more interesting to me than the thrash of recent years
No puedo creerlo... es la mejor cancion que escuche en mi vida!!!!
Great!!! And best live judging from this. I'm more familiar with his later work, but he should never regret this - it is outstanding. I could be happily lost forever in that beat.
Wow! I had no idea they played this song during the 84 tour. Thank you so much for posting this, can't wait to see the rest!!
Because this period is nostalgical for Al.
They were the Ultimate band // back up girls vocals stole that song
Sounds pretty cool, Al...!😁
Que increíble version en vivo, sin palabras.
I heard Al say he didn’t really write the songs on With Sympathy which surprised me and, if true, changes my opinion of his genius.
I saw them at Medusa's in Chicago the same year.
