      They were a terrorist group that scared thousands, killed and tortured people , so they were a very real manifestation of evil.

    I remember reading an article about the time Krispy Kreme had the bright idea to host a 'Krispy Kreme Klub' or 'KKK' event at one of their stores in the UK. It did not take long for someone to compare their acronym to the Ku Klux Klan. It drew quite a lot of unwanted attention and Krispy Kreme had to apologize for their blunder.

      Their way of life, while it will never completely die, is greatly diminished in the modern day because of their unending hate. People who get out of their corner of the world and actually learn and experience culture usually don't ascribe to these failed practices anymore. Sadly, once the thought is out there, Nazism, and White Supremacy, you can't put it back. Why I never understood our "War on Terror" its as futile as "War on Communism" you can't wage war against an ideal because, and sadly this works for flawed ideals as well, "There is no cause that is lost if there is yet one fool left to fight for it."

    They love hiding behind their twisted version of 'god'. I truly do say God and Christ would not approve of killing any one especially children for simply being black. It always upsets me how they take faith and twist it around which is very hypocritical of them to do. Christ never once told any one to kill their enemies for being Black or Hispanic or any other race nor did he advocate violence towards any one for that matter. I'm not Protestant I'm Orthodox but the rest of my family is Protestant and these people give them a bad name. I pray they change and turn away from being so hateful and angry.

    Im from Tennessee and my grandmother is from Pulaski. My grandfather was worried my grandmother would divorce him if she found out he was part black. She didnt care and acted like it was silly of him to even think that, but she occassionally said some pretty racist stuff. When i was growing up we went to a white church but i was sent to VBS at a black church where my grandfather's friends went. His black friends often visited the white church. It was all very peaceful until i hit puberty... suddenly my dad started acting very racist 😢 i am against the idea that all white ppl are racist, but here in Tennessee things are not perfect either. It takes a few generations for the hate to fully go away once it settles in. I could have followed suit and been racist too after being bullied at the mostly black high school i went to, but i chose to break that cycle finally. Two wrongs dont make a right, and my DNA is from all over, i have no right to be shamed or proud... its just how i was born.

His Dad moved to another town and his Mom was not allowed custody by law in 1915. His uncle pulled them from school to work the farm at then end 6th and 8th Grade. When the KKK was recruiting teens in the area not taking no for an answer. They walked to St Paul MN in 1921 the start of the Gangster era here.
    My husband's Mother was born in 1919 in Indianapolis Indiana but when the Klan came in like Gangbusters by 1921 they felt they had to move to Detroit to be safe. There her cousin became a UCC Minister and rose to become the Head of the National Council of Churches. His daughter said "he then lost his mind" and became a Black Nationalist and started his own Church. His wife left with the girls and they led Upper Middle Class lives including college and being outstanding in their fields. One other cousin worked for Bell Telephone Labs as an Engineer and held numerous patents in his life time. An uncle served as a Surgeon in the Civil War and eventually became head of the Detroit Health Department. Life might have been very different if the family had stayed in Indianapolis.

    • @flashypixel33
      @flashypixel33 Місяць тому +49

      Granted the clan was aligned with the values of the old Democrat party, however during the campaign of FDR there was a large movement of pro-union and progressive Democrats changing the demographic of the Democratic party, such as FDR. It was more-so realized that when JFK ran as the Democrat candidate against Nixon, who was Republican, that the switch was becoming reality. This switch meaning that Democrats became the progressive, liberal, pro civil rights and protection of minorities, aka the old Republican party that Abe Lincoln was once a part of (which of course Lincoln wasn’t perfect at all). The more pro segregation, not so aligned with minority rights and conservative nationalist that we now know today as the Republican party also was cemented.
      I am a Hispanic Arizonan and agree that while you are right that the clan was more “Democrat”, this is only true when we refer to the OLD Democrat party that has now become the current Republican party, refer to the quick history lesson above for context. Again you are also right that the Republican party was the first party in support of the Black vote BUT you would be wrong to say that the Democrats currently don’t also support the Black vote, as a matter of fact I would argue that they carry more values that align with the Black vote, granted I am not African America, but progressives, which are the Democrats right now, have historically always be shown to support the rights of all minorities.

      @@snowcat9308 Yeah, I wrote my comment at around halfway of the video and kind of made an assumption based on that. I still think he didn’t expound enough about the crimes the KKK committed against Catholics and Jews, though obviously their crimes against blacks were more common and greatly documented. I say this because some of my fellow Catholics seem to forget that we were also hated and targeted by some of the most infamous far-right groups in history (such as the KKK and Nazi Germany, still hated by the KKK and hated by many neo-Nazis) and so now that we’re a few generations in of being seen as “True Americans” they forget our history and mimic the same prejudicial attitudes and rhetoric that accused Catholics of being criminals, alcoholics, troublemakers, communists, traitors, and “undesirables.” Since I mentioned Nazi Germany, I think Disturban could also do a video on the resistance of German, Austrian, Bavarian, and Polish Catholics against the Nazi Party and the special barracks they sent over 3,000 Catholic priests to for safeguarding Jews, protesting Nazi rule, giving “unpatriotic” sermons, spreading anti-Nazi literature, and many for simply being Catholic and non-German.

    I live in Huntsville, Alabama. A couple of months before the 2016 election, I woke up on a Sunday morning and walked my dogs, noticing that somebody had left Ziploc bags with little notes in them on most of the driveways in the neighborhood. Each one had a pebble inside to keep it from blowing away. Houses occupied by non-white people were generally skipped. My house, with solar panels and an electric car out front, also didn't get one. I brought one home after finding it in the street so we could have a look. It contained a brief, poorly written racist screed, and an invitation to call a phone number with a recording of a racist rant ending in the words, "hail victory!" It did not specifically endorse Trump, but seemed to be aimed at mobilizing people opposed to immigration. I had some friends over for brunch that day so we all listened to that recording together and laughed, but I've been a little disturbed ever since.
    Whoever distributed these messages clearly had some familiarity with the neighborhood and its residents, so they probably live here. I walk my dogs twice a day and I talk to everybody, so this is probably somebody I've had friendly conversations with.
