Stayed at Cooper in ‘95 before the skiers “trashed it”, was quite new at the time. 4 bunks, 4 hikers.

Hope you've had enough time to recover and looking forward to watching your continued journey!
Fun fact, I actually did break my kneecap ions ago, in 5th grade, ice skating over Christmas break. It hurt, but only when I wasn't moving. So even when sitting down at the dinner table, or on the couch in the evening, I was constantly swinging my leg. It drove my mother crazy, and she kept telling me to sit still. I would tell her it hurts. She would rebut that it can't hurt too much because I never sit still. It became a completely subconscious thing. Literally 3 months later, my mother finally took me to the doctor because we were in a constant battle over it. The first thing he said was "she might have broken her knee cap vertically. If it was broken horizontally, she would be in agony, pretty much unable to walk. But if it is broken vertically, it only hurts when she is still because the muscles relax and allow the two halves of the knee cap to gap open. When she is walking, or even just sitting in a chair and swinging her leg, the muscles keep the knee cap compressed together. My mother about died on the spot. Doctor sent me home, while he consulted with an orthopedic surgeon, who decided a couple of days later that although typically a knee cap won't heal (since it is cartilage, not bone), I was young, and it was worth a try, rather than reverting right to surgery to replace my knee cap with a plastic one. So, they put me in a cast, which I promptly broke two weeks later playing basketball. Then they switched to a double ace bandage wrap, with that cling wrap stuff first, then an ace bandage over that, which I had to wear for a few weeks. All turned out well. LOL

Always listen to your body and the injuries. You'll be 40 and 50 and 60+ someday and you don't want to have a bad knee or a knee replacement because you didn't give proper rest in your invincible 20s. Looked like a pretty solid adventure though!
